Seriously, you’ve gone through the wrong end while I was away…
Back then I used to play with a few friends all over the globe, as transfers were easy and fast. We played over at US server (although we live in EU), because most guildies were there. But then occasionally with other characters we’d wander back to EU to play with just EU friends, because most of them were there and the ping was marginally better. Just so happens when I quit, I left my character in a US server…
Now, year or two later… server transfers cost 2000 GEMS? WTF? And they lock you out for SEVEN DAYS?
(though you can transfer for free if you delete all your characters? I mean what the kitten is that for?)
And it’s great that you can create free accounts.. that are not even able to SELECT a server, they just assign you randomly to one? Yeah, nice one. We play together – each their own and just describe what the others do?
I though I’d get HoT and start again, but yay, I can’t play with any of my EU friends anymore, unless I pay for an ADDITIONAL 2500 GEMS? And my wife and son can’t even select their preference so they could play with me on the US side, nor can they even select to be on the same server (yeah, this isn’t that bad of a thing because “guesting”, but it is still an unnecessary step).
Yeah, as you could probably guess, I won’t be coming back. I could’ve been nice.
Ao, have a nice one and goodbye (again). Probably for good.
I have two machines that I use to run GW2. I’m not at the moment on either, so no dxDiag unfortunately. I’ll post one later if I can edit this post.
Machine 1, runs GW2 ~30fps tops. Mostly 25-27fps. All settings maxed.
Intel Q9650 (quad-core 3GHz)
PNY GTX680
8Gb DDR2 RAM (800MHz if I recall correctly)
Tried with 304 and 306 beta drivers, no chance.
Monitor 1920×1080@60Hz
Machine 2, runs GW2 17fps all maxed and @21fps all minimum.
Intel E6850 (dual-core 3GHz)
Palit GTX285
2Gb DDR2 RAM (533MHz)
Tried with 285 WHQL and 304, 306 beta drivers. change max +-1fps.
Monitor 1280×1024@60Hz
Both machines running Win7-SP1 64bit.
fps doesn’t really change (max 2-3fps) between situations; exploring, hectic battle, main city.. doesn’t really matter. Machine 1 I can get to ~40fps if I go hug a wall and change my camera so that ALL I can see is the single wall texture.
Most other games run just perfectly fine. About 30-40fps on the second machine and 90+ on the first. Mostly I wonder why the difference between machines and/or details levels is so small.
