Beyond the Gate of Madness lies the depths of your heart…

Gate of Madness is looking for those with steel in their bones, fire in their blood, and honor in their comraderie!

That is what the Gate of Madness can offer.

With your friends: It is easy to be a part of something. It is also easy to be forgotten that you were there. How would you like to not only be a part of the battles but be known for the contributions you made? Of course you would. The Gate of Madness is a server of guilds, guilds that are made up of fast friends: people just like you, willing to recognize and support you in return. Don’t be just a ‘brick in the wall’ when you can be the hand on the hammer that breaks down the wall!

At you enemies: You are not a simple gamer. Why be a simple machine soldier? The Gate of Madness is known for bringing the best fight every time, but what only fellow guild mates see is what happens beyond the battles: strategies made by and for players like you, fellow guild members that work beyond the battle with and for you, conversations that feels like it is with friends… because it is. Break the mold of uniformity and show The Gate of Madness your uniqueness!

To the battle: Let’s be honest. Not every skirmish is a decisive win, not every battle beyond attrition and not every war without sacrifice. Why feel unimportant when the win seems so far away and the attrition offers your sacrifice? Fight in battles as a key player, stand together when others would retreat and be known not for being a part… but be known for being a fulcrum in the fight.

Part of the win: And the win will come, and many more after it. Why not gain the valor and the reward together? The Gate of Madness is growing fast: from the Living World story successes, opening Temples, running dungeons, conquering Meta events, making hard fights in World versus World… and so much more! Back again…

We have tried this mission another 10 times and found one and only one difference. Three of these tries were done this time by me logging into the other player’s account to try it, fully authorized to do so by the other person (in writing if you want it Anet/NCSoft). I got it to work from their account on my computer those three times, but did not finish it as I did not want to do this for anything other than finding an answer to the issue (relentless, stupid curiosity is the only thing keeping me on this): I did not want to seriously break any EULA section/point/issues by looking like I was playing the game for someone else… in other words, they haven’t passed the storyline mission yet!!!!!!

The difference is in the order of the sex of the servants, counter-clock-wise rotation from the door (the door to the Leap – door #1) to the door leading further into the Manse (door #2) from my log in to hers:

Her order seven times:
Door #1 -> counter clock wise -> Door #2
Female, Female, Male, Female, Male -> four times
Female, Male, Female, Female, Male -> three times

My order three times:
Door #1 -> counter clock wise -> Door #2
Female, Female, Male, Male, Female -> twice (worked flawless)
Female, Male, Female, Male, Female -> once (worked, but was forced)

So, it seems that in this situation if the last two in counter-clock-wise servant sex is a Male to the right of Door #2 then Female just to the left of door #2 it can me made to happen; if it is Female and then Male just to the left of door #2 it can’t be forced to happen.

A picture of a try that did NOT work, for clarity, is attached.

The only other option is something saved on my computer, something inside the GW2 files I have, that is different from hers… for that I would have no clue.


Up to you developers to figure it out now!!!!

If not, my friend will never pass this mission.

This mission is still a problem. I am trying to assist another player with this mission for three weeks with about 60 tries and nothing seems to work:

Gate of Madness server

Tried all of the below on two computers she owns: HP Windows 7 computer, MAC Lion 10 computer.

Tried the all of the below in a group and alone.

Have tried making sure every enemy inside the red area outside the first door is dead and make sure any friendly NPCs outside the first door come with (rezzed, etc.).

Inside the door tried talking to servants fast before Kitah leaves, tried the second door before Kitah leaves. Tried waiting until Kitah leaves and THEN tried the door first, then the servants… and vice versa.

Have made sure to try everything fast, then tried to give plenty of time in between actions.

Tried talking to each servant first before the rest, and tried talking to various numbers of servants before the door… or after the door.

Then, tried the suggestions on the forums: tried in front of the door jumping, moving, spamming “use” key… tried on top of the door… tried on opposite side of door with rest of party on proper door side… tried various movements… tried doing this on 1st door (one to outside) and 2nd door at same time… different times.

Heck, I have actually spend 5-6 hours on the phone with my friend helping her with EVERY suggestion possible.


I would like to say: I have done it twice, successfully, with characters myself (last time was February?). I dunno: after at least 6 hours of game play trying to help her get past this…

FRUSTRATED

Why? Because every storyline, from every race and pact faction, gets funnelled into this one mission: there is no option to do the research and pick another mission to do. This would be like doing Arah Story Mode and after defeating Zhaitan the game won’t let you get the achievement, won’t let you get your final movie and won’t let you get your tokens…

Just frustrated, if you didn’t notice…

100% Map completion no reward

I know, very basic question, but it is off the Wiki and may help…

Have you tried re-visiting the Chantry of Secrets to re-trigger the world completion???

There are a few reports of this causing the reward to show (also off Wiki):

Normal map completion award
2 Gifts of Exploration
The Map Completion Medal viewable from the account menu, unless already done on another character.
A star next to your name, viewable by other players

Unresponsive Jumping @ Dec 3rd Patch

I can confirm that jumping has been completely bugged. I went on one character (human thief) on Sunday to do a jumping puzzle (Breech Wall Point and Vista) and did it in 2 minutes and no falls. Today I was going to try it with a second character (norn warrior), thinking I would know it so well, and no go.

Somehow, I would say that the more jumping I try to do the worse it gets. I almost made it the first try, getting to the skill point. I fell jumping to the vista, and the harder I tried to do the jumping test in one smooth run the worse the jumping got. Now, I can’t make half the height or half the distance I would expect during normal play with the thief character.

I don’t want to log onto my thief: I’d be peeved beyond words if it’s jumping was pooched too…

So I went on tonight, caught the Claw of Jormag with my theif just as it landed….

Afterwards I tried going onto my Norn Warrior to finish the Breech Wall Jumping (logged out half way up) and it was still messed!!! All of a sudden another player gave me a speed boost and then jumping was “fixed” after that, even after the boost wore off.

However, I do notice that walking to a vertical surface extending UP infront of the character and trying to jump up to a ledge above, that vertical jumping height is still only 75-80% of what it was. I tried it back on my Thief and the vertical jump height at an upwards vertical edge is still not right IMO.
