Guild Wars 2

I have tried coming back to play GW2 a few months ago, but nearly everything was different and that alone made me feel like a complete lost puppy and disinterested very fast.
I’m wondering if someone would be able to give me a quick little mini guide on things to do when making a new character.
Also I made a lvl 60 auramancer elementalist, are they still as viable as they were when GW2 first came out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there, I’ve had a copy of GW2 since it came out, but I haven’t really played since I was more confused over the crafting system which is what I love the most in nearly any MMO I’ve played. So I started the completionist side of myself and tried just grinding out zones for map completion. I got burnt out very very fast.

Since then I haven’t really played too many MMO’s since. So essentially I’m asking for any advice you guys would like to impart on me. I’m set up on Jade Quarry, and I’m curious what you guys think would be an easy class that will be quite easy to fund.

Also, any suggestions on leveling paths or tips that would be helpful just starting out I’ll take. I’m rereading the combat system guide, the tips stickied and then looking into profession forums for guides for information about each class. But reading about a class is different than actually playing and such so any advice would be much appreciated.

Hey guys! I’m starting to get back into MMO’s and GW2 specifically. Have a lot of crazy stuff going on that prevented me from gaming.
I currently have a 67 elementalist that has been specialized for D/D.
I’ve been told that build isn’t as viable as it used to be. I’m curious what you guys would suggest for a 67 ele?

Also, I’m looking into simply starting over since I always find it difficult to enjoy a game when I start playing after an absence with a character heavily leveled and I just feel lost.

Any suggestions with any good class and weapon combos now?

Also final question, I’ve bee looking into the patch updates, but can anyone give me a run down for the last important updates this past year since 2013 or send me to a link with them!

Hey there so it has been over a year since I have played GW2 mainly because of school being ramped up tremendously and taking 18 units in college. But I have a bit more time and a very light semester ahead of me ( 10 unit). I’m curious if anyone can suggest a class that is in a bit more higher demand than such. I’m wanting to be able to start over in a way, find a guild/group to play with and jump into the world again.

Hey there, I’m a casual semi hardcore gamer just starting to get back into GW2. I played GW2 for the first few weeks loved it, but then had some family problems that gave me absolutely no time for entertainment. Anyhow now, I am back and I am a casual gamer, but when I play, I focus 100% on the game.
At the moment I am a level 48 elementalist looking to cap 80, get map completion, and start gearing full exotics. I’ve gotten about 30% of the map finished as is, and I only have experience with AC story mode so far, I just haven’t had enough time to get acquainted with AC explore since I honestly haven’t been on for one solid chunk of time to finish AC explore yet.
I’m playing as a D/D elementalist and I’m looking to get myself geared for WvW and also to have at least one character that is down right bad kitten
I’m looking for a guild that has a strong focus on PvE and Dungeons that would be able to help me farm the karma and events and also groups to level, complete maps and do multiple dungeon runs with.

Awh, okay thanks for that clarification i totally forgot how the arcane traits also increase boon duration!

I see a lot of build guides on d/d ele and how you can get perm swiftness with traits and boons with auras etc.
I’m trying to understand how you can get perm swiftness exactly and I’m getting very confused. I know I can get swiftness when I attune to air, and then apply swiftness and fury every time i get an aura applied.
But when I attune to air I only get a 5 sec. swiftness.
I’m still fairly new and I like figuring things out. I just can’t think of how you get that boon duration long enough to give perm swiftness?

Hello! So, I’m a total MMO fan and I just rediscovered the fact that I have indeed bought GW2. I’m a part time working college student that is addicted to MMO’s, mainly for the social aspect!
I am pretty new to GW2, I’m still experimenting with the different classes to figure out which one I would like to progress most in, and figuring out the whole dynamics of the game.
I have a 27 Archer and I’m experimenting with an Elementalist (5) now.
I would love to join a casual guild, with some experience to share to help with my PvE and definetly some PvP once I gain some mastery over my future class.
