Guild Wars 2

I am excited for all of it. Bow, traps, animations, name, everything. And there are plenty of people who like the name too. :P

I can’t wait to play Dragonhunter.

Dragonhunter and all the names and attitudes associated with it are fine as is. Some people, including myself, like it while others do not. And who knows? The names of things and others may change from now til release.

I like it as it is. I personally can’t wait to explore a guardian that is verging so much towards lawful good and zeal that they can be considered borderline morally gray in the future. It leaves open some interesting story-telling paths.

Just my two cents on feedback. Keep up the good work devs.

Dragonhunter is fine. There have been some interesting suggestions for future specializations though.

I’m glad to see that some people are getting what they want. Perhaps it’s my own fault for still loving the defender type in a mmo without the Trinity system or perhaps it’s the meta’s fault for pushing everything besides dmg zerk out of the game (pve). overall I’ll wait and atleast try it because of having over 2500 hours logged on my main guardian. But, I’m pretty sure I’ll b moving on to a new class as I can’t see myself attacking from afar with a bow and laying traps. I’m working on a ele atm and I have all other classes maxed so I’ll have some options.

On another note, I hope this meta dies and is burned never to return. I tried to play my passive healing, tanky, concentration build with mace/shield and staff in fotm and dungeons and Ppl auto kick me for not being zerk. I think something is seriously wrong when the game has so many armor types and Ppl only use zerk or assassin mix.

That’s why I just ignore the meta and create my own groups for everything. I’ve been playing a condition guard. We are not a popular folk.

Regardless I do hope they patch up the shield at least, and while I think most of our other trait lines will probably be more limited changed, perhaps they’ll be a slightly more defender-y build for you.

I am looking forward to the Ele’s Tempest as well though. I’ve wanted to go sword/focus or sword/dagger on my ele for a while. (assuming they get sword. They might be getting axe for all we know.)

Condi guards are going to be a lot more viable now with this specialization. I am looking forward to it, because I can now possibly cry “BURN THE HERETIC” when I smite enemies with stacking burning.

Also, OP, play guard however you like. I primarily WvW, but also PvE a ton in fracs. I run Soldiers armor with Melandru Runes and a set of Zerker Accessories that I can switch with Knight if I need more defense. Never had a problem with groups, though I stay away from groups that say “zerk only”, since I find people in those groups generally to be a bit more hostile than other groups.

ArenaNet doesn’t hate guards. You are just projecting your frustrations out over a name because guardians can now be linked to a name and ideal (zeal and high lawful good over hate of dragons and their minions to where they could be considered morally gray)instead of paragons from GW1. A guard is not a paragon.

Paragons were the Sunspears and other ranks that hailed from the Elona region. Guardian is a combo of them, Warriors, monks, and spiritualists. This mix up of professions spread to other races from humans, as the idea of one being a true defender of their faith and beliefs was not unique to humans themselves. I like the idea of a breed of guardian so zealous and lawful good in their belief of dragons and their minions as evil they could be considered morally gray from an outside perspective. There is plenty of lore and current events that back up the name.

Besides, if you really want a “Paragon”, there could be something for a future Elona expansion. (shrugs)

I main a Guardian, and I like the names and the mechanics for Dragonhunter. I also like the potential idea that some guards have become so lawful good and zealous in their quest to “defend the innocent and smite evil” that there could be a moral gray zone.

I’ll start off by saying….I like it. I like the name Dragonhunter, and I like the lore around it. I main a guard, and was super excited after watching all the videos and seeing the previews.

My suspicion is some people hate the name because of a lack of throwback to GW1. Chronomancer was a throwback to Guild Wars Utopia that was never launched, and when we saw the preview pic of the winged guard with a bow, I bet a lot of people thought, “PARAGON THROWBACK!” Heck, I did myself. Dragonhunter brings in something completely unexpected. I also like that Guardian gets a bit more depth in that there may be in a more morally gray area of guards that are so lawful good and zealous to the point of declaring death to all evil (dragon minions) in whatever form. This is exciting, and I look forward to seeing more of it in beta in the future before the general release.

Unless Moto wants riots in Rata Sum. If the genie was to be believed, he got screwed by some in the city. Now, he just wants to watch it slowly burn as payback…..

This happened on and off starting around the April Fools update, but now it is consistent. I have the World 1 Super Boombox , and now it does nothing but stop all sound and play nothing but sound effects when I click 1-5. I miss the music of the SAB, and do with I could use this music instrument again. I was wondering if anyone was aware of this, and if the World 2 Boombox is also affected.

Bumping for an awesome server. I first did WvW raiding with Guts, Glory [RAM] before Xig moved a large number of people to Fort Aspenwood. I followed, and after Superior Flame [RAM] fell apart, joined Spirit of [HOPE] and later followed them to Sea of Sorrows. Had a blast with the guilds, but both servers had a ton of drama between commanders and other notables. I came back to Yaks Bend after dropping out of [HOPE] due to school starting up again, and I have to say, I am happy to call Yaks Bend home. We have an awesome community, and our commanders are top notch and always helpful. In fact, once I transferred back to Yaks Bend, my first words were, “I’m home”.

I am also having the same issue. I crafted the Mysterious Vine in Part 1. When I logged on yesterday, I noticed my Cultivated Seed turned into a Pet Seed.
