Oh also, what does it mean at the start of a match when it says “Play A vs Player B”?
I’m still new to spvp. One thing I’m confused about is the end of a match. It says it’s over and brings up this dialog box summarizing things, but there’s still combat going on. I’ve died while trying to look at my results. What’s the deal with fighting after the match is over? Does it affect anything? Can I safely just ignore it and not care if I die and just look at the summary screen instead? Or should I instantly dismiss it and keep playing? I’ve seen people capturing nodes after a match ends, not sure the point of that.
I leveled to 80 w/out tomes (first character) and unlocked all the herald skills but I don’t feel very confident in my usage of Glint. I’ve been running Shiro/Glint in PvE and I guess my problem is knowing when to turn on my boons, when to activate them and when to swap to Shiro.
I originally leveled as Shiro/Mallyx and found it fairly intuitive. I got to HoT and got my butt handed to me severely all throughout my personal story so I changed my build and went Shiro/Jallis. Found that way way more survivable, and the number of times I got frustrated dropped precipitously.
After unlocking Glint over the weekend I was like SWEET let’s go Shiro/Glint. Back to getting my butt handed to me. At present, I have on facets of darkness/ele/strength. When a fight starts though that prevents me from gaining any more of my resource (I’ve tried dropping one of the facets like elements but the gain is pretty slow still). Anyway, I then activate Chaos, things start dropping quickly, and before I run out of juice I pop all 4 of them, activating their secondaries. I will sometimes toggle facet of nature as a “steroid”.
I feel like this is a dumb strategy. But the problem is I don’t really know a more optimal way to be doing things, or even a basic decision making tree of when I should consider activating what facet in various circumstances.
Before I even attempt to play around in WvW or SPvP I want to at least know the various legendaries enough that I can make an informed decision as to my build and what to do and how to help my team, and right now, Glint is leaving me confused as to how to best (or better) utilize it. So any points of advice you can offer would be great. I realize there’s generally no set rotation, but usually there’s a standard approach people use and then based on various things that unfold they alter their strategy. Anyway thanks for any and all feedback.
I’d like to sign up as a student (NA, Sea of Sorrows server if it matters). Never ran a dungeon before and am looking to learn on my 35 warrior. My character’s in-game name is “Sleep Archive”. Thanks!
I’d like to find a build that I can use for dungeons once I get there (soon). I’d prefer to use it now in pve so I can at least learn the mechanics before I just jump right into my first dungeon experience. It doesn’t have to be “the best”, but I just don’t really know what’s even a viable spec. I’m just dorking around at the moment and pve leveling is easy, but I’d prefer to know what skills I’ll have to consider and what traits I should be targeting. Most of the builds I’ve found out there assume you’re level 80, so something that works for dungeons right when they’re unlocked would be most appreciated. Thanks.
Where do you get them? I had 20 something black lion chests that I opened and got 5 scraps. Is this the only source and is the drop rate supposed to be super low?
Of course, you need to be on a server that has good wvw guilds that can down people. It also has to be a wvw guild that aren’t jerks to newbies. Most are super elitist that think being good at a video game actually matters. If you do not die, they won’t mind for the most part. If they do, who cares. They can’t stop you. Just do not expect to be invited to any groups.
Which server(s) do you suggest? I may one day in the future look to move, but only once I’m sure I’ve found a class I like more than others and have figured them out a decent bit.
Awesome, thanks guys. Glad to see there isn’t one “right” build.
So I admit I haven’t played the game much. Only a few chars and all under 20. I realized I’m just drawn to a warrior for dps, even though I used to skew cloth casters traditionally. Anyway, I plan to be doing pve just to level and initially at least do WvW. Do I even need a separate build for leveling and wvw? Any suggestions? At least until I hit 80 I’m not concerning myself with min/maxing, but having a build or two to at least guide me and get me used to the mechanics would be quite helpful at this point. Seems like things have changed since I last played and am having a hard time knowing which builds on the net are up to date. Thanks!
Ah thanks, I didn’t know if it was intended or not but it sounds like just some minor bug.
At first I thought you meant Los Angeles and I was really confused

Periodically in Divinity’s Reach I hear this constant moaning coming from an NPC, or sometimes they seem like they’re saying “Whaaaa?” or just making some other general odd noise. It’s literally on a loop. The moaning is the funniest so far. What’s the deal with it and why does is it seem like it’s on perma-loop?
So I realize that if I’m near one when it starts I see an orange icon and/or brush stroke on the map. But is there any way to know when an event is happening that you don’t happen to be near by? I’ve never seen anything on my main map. It seems like you just have to spam map chat asking for if an event is going on, or get lucky by happening to randomly walk by an area just as one is starting.
Is there an easier way to find out where/when an event is occurring without having to resort to chat? Thanks.
