No content from the box was restored but it was likely either empty or full of some extra salvage kits (I went a little crazy when I first found the vendor who sold kits for karma instead of cash and bought like 50 of them).
The picture below shows what my inventory screen normally looks like, so I did not notice the missing bag until I needed something from it. I would have to scroll down to see the contents of the bag.
