Solo Fractal Farming

in Ranger

I’m looking to solo farm Fractal mobs for my vials of mist essence to make an ascended back item.

Any tips on builds and pets? I’m new to lvl 80 Ranger so just learning.

Also any tips on which Fractal would be the best to Farm? I have never done one.

I could go on Thief, Guard, War, or Ele also but Ranger is more interesting to me at the moment.
Thanks!

So for someone who just dinged 80, Are Zerker weapons not the way to go? Better off going Soldier now? And for Armor going with a mix of Soldier and Knights?

I’m finding the same thing. With the new patch I really wanted to play with the Trickery and Acro lines, but I’m really missing the condition removal. Any solutions?

First Level 80 - How to gear up for WvW

in Thief

I’ve read a lot. I’ve searched a lot and I still can’t seem to find any concise information that gives details about how to best begin gearing up for end game. I was a very experienced FFXI and WOW player so I know how it’s general done, but I’m just not seeing it in GW2.

The basic debate seems to be Carrion vs Zerker. Well how is the best way to begin even getting these sets? I have just begun WvW and I generally seem to get owned pretty kitten quickly by mass zergs so getting badges is hard to come by. I see that I can buy that gear from badges I think?

So how best to get the gear that it seems most roll with?
- Crafting?
- WvW and buy with gold and badges?
- Trading Post? Buy with Gold?

I’m thoroughly confused…

Any other tips on how to start getting geared up to a level that I will be able to compete.
