A system that notifies all players in a given region that a BOSS is up, and ready to be battled against. For example, the Troll or Shadow Behemoth in Queensdale, or the Bandit Captain in Kessex Hills, or the Bloodwitkittenessex Hills.
The truth is, many times one will stumble upon a great encounter, but nobody is around to help, or players who don’t know that encounter will simply ignore map chat calling players to assist. The notification system can highlight the awesome encounter.
It’s a no-brainer! We’re all clamouring to the bossess all the time, this will make the game more fun, because now we will all rally together!
Using map chat for this purpose is ineffective and often people miss great opportunities. Using a new notification system for bosses will allow players to play together more often.
In Summary:
- Idea: Region Specific Notification System of Boss Spawns
- Purpose: To negate the need to use Map Chat to attempt to rally allies, and to encourage larger group participation constantly, which is much more fun.
- Suggestion: The system only notifies the player of spawns of already encountered bosses

Awesome, well, I started this thread because I think hearing some great positive views would be a good thing for the devs! Thanks for everyone who contributed!
I am loving the game and I wish the devs all the best in making it even better!!
Thanks for all the hard work ArenaNet, your care and commitment is seen through and through!
…then post why in this thread!
Hi, I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 for just over two weeks now. After having played most MMO’s, and spending a few years playing WoW, it’s refreshing to play a game that is so fresh and new, so “next-gen”, and truly fun from the minute you get into the game. I’m upset with myself for only picking up the game a few months after launch!
I believe after extensive playing (and tons of fun!) that this is the best MMO out there right now, if you do too, let’s share why we believe this to be true!
