The farming of mats etc is what made perfect sense above everything else.
Drop rates on mats are pathetic, infact drop rates on everything are pathetic tbh.
Yea I agree, Magic Find is such a stupid mechanic that should have stay and died with Blizzard. It be simpler without it.
They should at least add total Magic find/Gold find to the character stats…
This idea kind of came from a thread about resetting the previous quest. I know there is no plans for it and its not set in stone that there wouldnt be but……….
PERSONAL STORY FULL RESET MAKEOVER~~
basically resets all the personal story quest while keeping character level and everything intact. Possibly an interface that will pop up to ask the character story questions again without the makeover or name change (although we would like that …). An item/service just to reset personal story.
Benefits?
- We can go through multiple arcs without creating the same race multiple times…
- In case we screw up and it is not too late to start over (we get what we want)
- Or we just outright hate the storyline and where its going (personally…)
Also… - more items in gem store for profit
- not affecting game balance, just more convenient services
- Did i mention more money? (id definitely buy this)
It shouldn’t be harmful to anyone but the user who reset and facerolling the personal story…(it be the same if we level to 80 then start the lvl1 personal story)
It shouldn’t affect buying character slot because most people want at least 3 just to play all classes and if possibly new classes in the future.
it helps with replaying contents so more time enjoying Guild wars 2.
The only negative i can come up with is potential bugs.and repeating rewards (they are not that great anyways…)

i got the same thing all though nothing happened. i changed password and everything, all pw is super unique. im just wondering how they guess my account and password and im super safe about these things(no third party). its like there is a leak somewhere.
Just thought of another idea since the topic is about different ways of getting precursor.
if Arenanet wants gambling to be part of the game then why cant there be something similar recipe as clovers. with much better chances! gambling is evil.
something like…
[rare mat][rare mat][rare same weapon][exotic same weapon]= chance of a higher tier exotic maybe a precursor maybe something a little lower.
I’d assume its anet solution for getting rid of exotics and rares. if thats the case shouldn’t 4 exotics equal to higher chance like A LOT HIGHER than what it is now…
I hate that fact that rich people are wiping out the exotics and thrown into a mystic toilet. soulbound is bad enough but re-gearing has gotten expensive imo. when it first started re-gearing wasnt that bad.
Not sure if you kept up with this thread but it should be obvious that if you want a guarantee, buy it, if you dont want to spend your life savings then gamble it away. you either save some gold or spend it all, odds are you gonna spend it all. Arenanet wants to make it difficult they succeeded.
Or just make a new boss there like a kitten off Karka queen or king MEGA EVENT.
I miss the event so dont know what the boss looked like because of work but got the chest in the mail no precursor.

The idea is definitely better than RNG… obviously it could use some tweak but it is definitely a start of a great idea.
Legendary weapon represent mastery of Guild Wars 2, not mastery of grinding 24/7 for rare and stuff just to throw your thousands of hours of work into mystic toilet.
If Arenanet wants to add a little RNG then I would say add something like lodestone but a rare material to the new Mega Event Daily chest that they going add into the march 26th update.
The dungeon idea is genius as it helps move everyone everywhere instead of COF or fractals.
I am for account bound. soulbound is just me wasting stuff. I have to salvage an exotic jewellery because its wasting space and have no use for it on the soulbounde character. It be nice to transfer to an alt. id buy gems if its supporting anet to create such a mechanic.
I LIKE IT! I missed costumes in gw1 where you can make them for all your characters wish they bring that back.
also sorry for hijacking your thread but…what is the point of the in-between kits? its either basic or Black Lion kit. I have terrible luck with the Master(rare) salvaging kit making Black LIon (exotic) salvaging kit a necessity. Make the cost of them cheaper or better deals please~ either increase the amount of salvage or make them cheaper…
im alright with the double click on weapons but traits on the other hand… is a pain in the rear. It be nice to have templates like in gw1. i mean it is not a gamechanger to have templates we already have to go to town to retrait.
for PVE (althought haven’t personally tested) I was planning to regear my jewelry with the ones with ALL STATS, as elementalist can really utilize all of them…we heal, we crit proc, we condition, we do damage. For survivability you can definitely go PVT on your armor, power/vitality/toughness. For runes everyone seem to rock the boon duration bonus. I just recently change from dolyak to water/monk runes. Seems to work out pretty well especially with bouncing around attunements for the bonuses with Arcane trait Elemental Attunement (V).
Just tailor your elementalist to your playstyle and it should work fine. what trait/stat improves your gameplay just focus on that.
I have actually been trying recently to use conjures…only thing bother me is speed…wish it just automatic cast on top of me instead of ground target.
If you have a good conjurer build without sacrificing survival ill be all ears. im running 0/10/10/30/20 build. only thing that decently supplements conjurer is major trait in fire (20points).
Stealth is comparable to our cantrips in terms of survival. Except we have longer cool downs and can only use it during tight situation. I don’t remember the source but it was from Isiah Cart that stealth was meant to be use for the same purpose, to be use to get out of sticky situation…and that implementing perma-stealth would be overpowered. Yet somehow there is a way to perma-stealth. There shouldn’t be technically perma anything which I didn’t complain about the nerf on elementalist’s boons.
Ele’s have RTL to create distance (small nerf recently but isn’t terrible) while thief can create distance all day everyday. It also definitely not the only thing theif’s can do…they have great dodge synergy too. You’re just forcing yourself to a cookie cutter.
EDIT: funny thing is Isiah runs a theif too…i wonder if thats…naww ANET is all fair when it comes to balance :nod:

@GEO AOE doesn’t unveil them…i wish it did IN FACT it makes total sense that it should…and I hate people telling how other people should play their character. Let the OP play whatever is fun.
Sure it may be learn to play issue but fact is perma-stealth is overpowered.
Is it worth playing? definitely, elementalist have a lot of option and playstyle.
I only have one level 80 that I have been playing since beta…and that is an elementalist
IMHO it still needs more balancing, but you’re definitely right about working harder…
I tried a Glass Cannon build but honestly compare to other class GC build our damage is horrible in comparison. We have super low health but surviving off cantrips and dodge can only do so much, once were hit were dead.
EDIT: just thought of something when mention playstyle…although we have 4 attunements but those attunements are on a single weapon single playstyle while other class can easily switch from range to melee and vice versa. were stuck with one or the other.

just thought of something random that may be worth mention. I dont know if it has been mention before.
anyways…ground targeting…have the max distance activate like a leap where even though the enemy is out-of-range it still cast but wont reach but the skill is still activated and on cooldown.
What i mean is if i try to cast meteor shower but if I aim too far the skill gets “out of range” but instead why not just let the cast circle execute the spell but automatically at max range.
reason this came up because I’m trying to be fast and cast at maximize distance. Yet sometime i get the dreaded “out of range” and have to try again. Ultimately slowing me down.
i mean its not a deal breaker but this will help with the whole aspect of “like a first person shooter or action game” that Arenanet has mention.
I want to report the same thing. I was about to create another thread but decide to bump this one up. I think its the Sigil of Hydromancy that is creating the bug. basically when using the skill it act as if i swap weapons but somehow the greatsword on hand just disappears but the sigil was activated.
It is extremely…CPU taxing my GTX670 is not even 100% usage but my CPU Core all running above 60%. Overclocking CPU seems to help.
Jonez survives better now but not the players. Grenth is stupidly overpowered now…no chance whatsoever to survive…
I think they already adjusted since BWE. It is now like +1 or +2 levels and then plus gear which a lvl80 should 1 or 2 hit a lvl 3 mob…
Why not include a wardrobe in home instance, where you can store different clothing pieces, similar to the PvP Locker? It might even be a step towards getting people to hang out in cities other than Lion’s Arch, and making your home instance something people actually go to.
I dont know how to quote on the forum but I like ironzerg’s idea of having some sort of locker for costume where its account bound. spending almost $10 on a costume is pretty expensive when I want it on multiple characters. since GW2 is all about convenience else i have to keep transferring costume through though the bank.

Yes i have been using water attunement in underwater….but cooldown is killer…that earth attack sounds like an exploit…but good to know though…
what I have been personally doing is switching attunements a lot and basically using all my skills…switch use all skills…switch…use all skills…i dunno how you can just stick to water since cooldown is like 10+seconds
that has been working well but still water combat is a chore…im having way more fun on ground. staff or S/D is what i use…and loving it
I agree … damage sucks for elementalist. to sum it all up i like to avoid water combat with my elementalist because its not FUN…I hate water combat atm havent tried other class yet but so far water combat is something i tried to avoid as much as possible.
maybe some skill tweak cause some skills like lightning i dont understand like the water pocket…magnetic current…why would i want to be closer to a monster that im circling around. I hardly use earth …i have a lot of +condition damage but still i would like the initial impact to do more damage. at lvl 78 it currently does 28 damage…seriously? we need a buff!
Im lvl43 working on a lvl31 personal story call Dredging up the Past. Getting zerged by dredges and the boss fight is hitting too fast and too hard that i cant outheal/dodge his dps.
EDIT: Im lvl43 with a bunch of mid 30s gear and level 43weapon atm playing elementalist.
I can understand the delevel to fit the content for DEs and stuff but for personal…its just stupid to be losing to a bunch of level 30s. Like i said during the beta why cant we +1 level over the content or some type of ADVANTAGE? Basically it pointless to level over the content and mind as well force us to complete the personal story at the required level instead of waiting.
my solution…Personal story (Level) +1= character level.
