Here’s an experiment for those of you hitting the keyboard bug: turn off autocorrect.

For newer versions of macOS this is in the Text tab of Keyboard Preferences.
For older versions of macOS this is in the Text tab of Language & Text Preferences.

Well guys, sorry to say that wasn’t it. I’m still locking up. ;-(

I am now experiencing the “Keyboard Lockout Bug” about once every 2-3 hours. I also think theat the “Screen Ghosting Bug” is related to the Ambient Occlusion setting.

Guys! Big improvement! I’ve been playing the Mac 64-Bit Beta for 5 hours tonight with no crash!!! I still get a small bit of stuttering every once in a while, but this is becoming awesome! I am also experiencing what I call that “Ghosting Bug” where there is a graphic overlay of one frame that is semi-transparent. Not often though. I am beginning to feel pretty confident that I can start commanding with this build. I’m very, very excited and wish to thank your entire team. With this build being this solid, I will be buying the next expansion. Thank you all again!

We are actively investigating the crashing. Unfortunately it hasn’t been easy to reproduce internally.

Jon, just go into WvW and play for a bit. You will definately crash within the first half hour or so. Sometimes much sooner. I have given up commanding until this 64-Bit client is stable. Also, the Gamma Slider does not work at all and should be a pretty high priority. The graphics are so dark that it’s very hard to play. I’ve gone back to the 32-Bit client (which is also crash prone) until the 64-Bit client is much more stable and playable.

This is my update as to some of the issues I have been experiencing.

1. Many game crashes. I always send the reports into Anet hoping they will help you guys solve the issues.

2. I experience a graphic ghosting at times. It’s as if memory holds onto one frame and displays it as a transparent black and white image. See image below.

3. Some trees and bushes display a flashing or lightning effect. See image below.

4. Gamma not working makes the game very dark to play. See image below.

5. In WvW, the doors to Towers, Keeps, and SMC have doors that are either white or half colored. See the image below.

6. I have experienced a “zipper” graphic ground pattern from time to time.

That’s it in this update. I hope these updates help. ;-)

First, I really want to thank your development team personally for the hard work towards making a native 64-bit Macintosh version of Guildwars 2. You really are to be commended. We in the Macintosh community were beginning to lose all hope of ever seeing a true Macintosh version of your wonderful game. So saying that we are pleased, is beyond an understatement. I’m also very excited to see how far along you are in this difficult project. You are so close!

The specs of my Macintosh are attached to this message.

Some of the feedback I have is listed below.

1. The loading times for the initial launching of the game are extreemly long. This is also true when changing locations within the game.

2. The gamma slider in the options menu does not work at all, making the graphics very dark.

3. There appears to be some graphics ghosting happening when one turns their character to look around.

4. There also appears to be some periodic stuttering while moving the character forward.

5. Some trees appear to be “flashing” between being white and the actual texture that is supposed to be mapped to the trees. Texture mapping is also missing in some areas like stairs etc.

6. Some of the function keys seem not to be working, such as the screen shot F6 etc.

7. The performace, or FPS, seems to be lower than the 32-bit verson.

These are just some quick observations. I very briefly experimented with this build last night, but I thought these observances to be important initially. I will evaluated this build much more exaustively this upcoming week.

Thank you again for working hard toward making the Macintosh version of your game a much better experience!

This is a condition venom thief that is very tanky and yet delivers serious bleeding and poison. As one dodges with this build, it also cleanses conditions. All one really has to do is spam dodge and Death Blossom. Its weakness is getting out of a stun. Although, one can easily switch out the Signet of Shadows for Shadowstep if one finds it necessary. The sacrifice is movement speed (travel mobility).

With the food buffs, the bleeding duration goes up to 70% and the poison duration goes up to 55%. This build is for those Thieves that don’t wish to die a lot, but really want to deliver some serious crippling damage without a lot of pre-planned moves.

[Suggestions] Some Simple Improvements to WvW

in WvW

Posted by: Arten.3915

Arten.3915

One of my biggest suggestions is that ANET create some kind of penalty for guilds who switch servers in order to be associated with a higher “T” rating. It leaves those of us who want to stay on a server and WvW, endure crappy numbers and lose a lot. It takes the fun out of WvW. The point of WvW is the struggle to become the best. It’s not to move to another server in order to be the best. When things get tough on a particular server, people leave in mass. Those of us who stay, have to rebuild and endure beating after beating before we get enough numbers again. Then it seems to happen all over again. It gets very tiresome and takes the joy out of WvW. I don’t know what the exact answer to this problem is, but I would ask that ANET seriously look at and discuss this problem.

Sincerely,

—Arten The Great

Hi Toz.

It’s the same on my end. It “launches”, but no window for connecting. Let’s hope they figure this out soon. ;-)

TP was working until the new update patch this evening. It’s broken again. I couldn’t even speak to the main vendors. ;-(
