The Champion Cave Troll in Kryta, known as “Larry” on Piken Square is really a tragic, sad figure. Look at the reality of it:
Larry is not out rampaging, ever on his own. So what does he do? Obvious, he sits at home and eats worms while admiring his pretty rocks with pictures. Heck half the time Ida goes in, gets her bait, and Larry is never an issue. So what is really going on here?
So why is all this happening? Well The Rune Thief, being too spineless to actually confront Larry or even to ask his permission sends some gullible dupe in to steal Larry’s ONLY possession, his rock. When he runs out to get it back, she suckers a pack of gullible treasure hunters to kill him for her, because she’s not only spineless but weak, and then she takes his rock and BREAKS IT INTO PIECES, selling them as Trinkets. She’s not after knowledge, she’s a common thief. Even if she is after knowledge, Larry speaks and understands language so he’s clearly sentient, and owns the rune. Unwilling to take no for an answer, she resorts to theft and then murder to acquire it.
So what do I suggest? Obviously the villain here is the Rune Thief. Not even having a NAME destroys all chance of her being seen as someone after important artifacts, she is simply a thief. So fix the quest. On arrival at the cave, the players see Larry moping outside “Stupid woman take Larry’s onliest rock and kick Larry out!” and that spawns the Champion Rune Thief. The players run inside the cave, and find a power-mad and quite irrational woman using Runic Magic to fire bolts and blasts everywhere shouting things like “It’s mine now, No one can take it from me! The power is MINE!” and after a battle she is defeated. The players go inside and find Larry back inside with his rock, and he sells Grubby Troll Cookies to players, which act as food of some sort. A 10% xp boost to lowbies better than some trinket with the same stats as 4 or 5 other low level trinkets.
Just a suggestion, as these games always assume because someone is a troll, or a human determines if they are good or evil. Larry isn’t evil, he’s just seriously irate after having his ONLY possession stolen repeatedly by some spineless thief and her flunkies.

Far from perfect. Housing is most wanted by casual gamers and roleplayers. Telling them to ‘Just buy gems’ to get a house? Sure, I’ll take a second job so I can have a house in a videogame… The perfect solution doesn’t exist, as soon as someone thinks it up, someone else will top it. A better one would be to add a house you can buy in your home instance, or a quest to obtain it. A noble player could have a chain where their home is seized and they have to get it back somehow. The street players, they just get the old hangout of the gang they do away with. The commoners just move into the tavern after saving it. Then story quests and gem shop things added to improve them, add npcs, etc.

Please give us the option to hide this stuff. I’m not doing this Southsun junk. Sorry, but any corporation who would enslave people and use another cities guards as their own enforcers IS evil. Period. I’m not playing enforcer, and you made it so if anyone wants any titles or anything they have to run errands for the Consortium, so I’m not doing any of it. I arrived, read the text, read the npc chat dialog, and left. I understand some people might be ok with it, but just seeing it nonstop on every zoning or login, I am losing patience with closing it every time I do anything. Just let us hide it permanently, get rid of the screen spam. I enjoy the rest of the game, but this is a serious game breaking issue for me personally. A checkbox to disable living story notifications or something like that.

No results here so far. Doing a full reinstall (Including deleting that folder) and got fingers crossed. Not one word from ArenaNet is the frustrating part here. A simple ‘We know about it’ would be something…but nope.

And the full reinstall again failed.

I tried that. Tried all of those, nothing worked. I can’t even install the game, let alone play.

Same issue. Mine won’t even actually download the game, says 100%, but bar is blank and all info on the login is missing. Nada.

I agree. I frankly can’t stand the whole story garbage. Love the gameplay, but the bad voice acting (sorry but when this huge monstrous Charr comes out and sounds like Justin Bieber, it sortof throws the whole deal out, and I just can’t take anything serious coming out of his mouth.) That and bad movie stereotypes, and not being able to change who I joined up with. I joined the stupid Sigil on my main, and already hate every NPC I’ve met to the point I have no interest in ever doing another story quest. I just want to turn them off, entirely. Drop them if I could to be honest. I’m trying to enjoy a game, and when I was just doing hearts and events I was having a good time. This story garbage is just annoying.

Is this able to be passed by entirely? Some of us don’t have perfect reflexes anymore, and after almost an hour, I’m done with it. Not all of us are 17 anymore here, this is just ridiculous. Glad if you liked it, but me, it’s borderline game breaking. I’m seriously regretting my purchase right now.
