While I don’t normally try to speak for an entire community, this thread is meant to address the influx of “Mesmer OP” claims that we’ve been receiving …
I very rarely post here, but I had to upvote your post: Well said!
My impression is that some (many?) of the people who claim that mesmer is OP do not play (or main) mesmer themselves, but have problems fighting them using other classes. They don’t understand the mesmer class, they don’t understand their enemy, or they simply lack gameplay skills in general. So instead of trying to become better at fighting mesmers, they get frustrated and ask for nerfs instead. Some classes do (hard)counter other classes, but that doesn’t mean the class is OP in general.
Sometimes I also see the “mesmer is so easy to play” (particularly PU and condi mesmers) statement, although many do agree that mesmer is still one of the more difficult classes to play.
Anyway, nice post
Nice interview, thanks for posting!
I’ll gladly pay for an expansion
kk, then delete your ranger casey. Ive spoken with you ingame, and you are one of the thousands that relentlessly paint a black picture of this class, but still miraculously keep playing it.
+1.
… Now for once, stop insulting every ranger player there is and do what you tell everyone else to do instead, your negativity is not helping a darn soul.
The constant, negative, unconstructive attitude is tiresome to listen to as well…
Thank you ArenaNet, Thank you for listening to our wishes! Not just myself, but most ranger players are HAPPY about these changes.
Agreed, these changes are appreciated.
Complaining seems to be the new ‘meta.’ I look at it as a chance to go try some new things, hopefully learn some new things, and have some more fun
I agree: I think one should try to make the best out of the situation and adapt. Try to be solution-oriented and positive, instead of only focusing on the problems and having a negative attitude in general. Sometimes it’s just a matter of getting used to the changes.
Complaints can of course be justified sometimes, or it could be a bug or an unintentional change, but some people (IMHO) seem to do nothing but complain, and they don’t express themselves in a respectful or constructive way (which doesn’t help their situation at all).
I also think constructive criticism is a matter of give and take: Focusing only on the negative aspects can seem unfair, especially when/if there are positive things worth mentioning as well.
That said, a majority of the feedback on forums like this (which has a lot in common with support forums) tend to be negative, but for each person who complains here, there might be 10 persons who never post here and don’t have a major problem with the game.
Great map! I love the design. Kudos to Anet
Same here, been like this the last week. Never had constant lag like this before (300+ ms). My other online games work fine (30-50 ms). I also experience disconnects more often than before. The game is nearly unplayable.
Traceroute shows that the bottleneck is the Tinet.net gateways/servers, which are connected directly to the GW2 gameservers. I’m not sure, but my client was perhaps routed via another gateway before that didn’t cause this latency.
I really hope Anet will investigate this further.
Playing on Gandara (from Norway).
I forgot to mention that I’m playing on the Gandara server.
I’ve started experiencing lag in PvE, and that has never happened to me before. The lag is very annoying, because it causes all the action to freeze for several seconds (5-10 seconds), before the client is updated again. If I’m in a dungeon, it often results in a downed or killed character, because I have no control over my character and I can’t see what’s going in.
This lag issue started a few weeks ago. Before, I only experienced lag when close to big zergs in WvW. I’m not sure if this is caused by software/hardware changes on the server and/or perhaps server overloads due to an increasing number of players.
Guys, you should report the error via the bug report in the game. If you post it here they might not read it until tomorrow.
