I think those who are deconstructing this win, and chalking it up to ‘just being lucky to be around other organized players’ are doing so in very poor taste. We won this event because we did, and continue to do, what ANet would like to see from large-scale group events: positive communication, following a leader, actually helping each other, and having a common goal. We were successful because we are good at working together as a group, and actually help each other, as opposed to acting as a singular person on the battlefield, unaware of those around us. I don’t think that makes us “lucky” – I think that makes us co-ordinated with a common goal in mind. My heart was racing when we won this event, and it’s because, as Stormcrow said earlier, the reward of it all was not what I got from the chests, but having beaten the most difficult fight in GW2 to date, and being able to know I was there for a world first.
I understand people want to get this complete, but faulting those people who worked very hard together and saying they were just lucky seems sad to me. We shouldn’t be trying to take away the glory from those who prevailed – we should be further encouraging it, and wanting for every server to attain this same win. I really hope this encourages people to that extent.

It is worth it to keep pushing forward. I didn’t get my first ring until I was @ 105 fractals completed. I look forward to getting more rings. It’s all luck (and I guess mine wasn’t that great, haha).

I DC’ed 3 times in three separate runs of lvl 13, and now, after like 2 hours it felt like, I got to the maw on lvl14 – guess what. I DC’d. I love this game, but seriously this is pissing me off to no extent. I love you ArenaNet, and I’m a very dedicated player, but omg… I should be on lvl18 right now, but due to DC’s………………………..

It does seem cross country (NA & EU) can’t play together in dungeons? I tried to enter from the NA server with people on a different server and in the EU, and it would not work. Worked fine with just the NA players tho… weird.
