Ordin.9047The LOTRO cosmetic system is great, anet would do well to borrow a page from their book. The devs just need to swollow thier pride and admit that town clothes aren’t working and fix it. People arent bothering with town clothes, and people dont pay money for something that they wont bother with.
I disagree. I’ve spent the entirety of today in my witch costume, doing everything from mining to jumping puzzles. If I get into combat, I kill the thing and toggle right back into my costume because ANet was nice enough to add in a toggle specifically for town clothes.
Town Clothes aren’t combat clothes. That is pretty much the difference. Just because you, or a select group of people, don’t like the way that they’ve been introduced into the game, doesn’t mean that they are broken, foolish, or a horrible idea. ANet has done a whole bunch of things that other games haven’t touched. Suggesting that they take a page out of another game’s book is pretty much telling them to stop being a different game (and I say this while seriously missing my holy trinity).
To that point, I agree that it would have been nice to see some armor skins introduced for those people who would rather have a more festive approach to their armor, but I would never for a moment say that ANet is doing it wrong by making costumes into town clothes. Different is not wrong, not in this case.
Is it so hard to say, “I like x idea, but could we have y idea implemented next holiday if possible for some variety?” rather than “No. This is wrong. You’re wrong. Don’t do it again. Ixnay on the upidstay.” Especially since you don’t have to spend a cent of real money to buy a frivolous and pretty item here in GW2 – something that I wish some other MMO’s would pick up and run with.
Cupid1796Agreed – i hate running around with my inv full and noticing the extra gathering tools taking up space when they should stack.
I’ve stopped opening up Black Lion Chests for this reason. I have no less than seven sets of Black Lion Logging Axes. Seven stacks of 25. They won’t stack. It drives me mad.
This is one of my top frustrations with the game. I’ve never been very big on add-ons, but I didn’t need add-ons to move my buttons around in previous games. I play very differently between a PvP character and a PvE character, and not being able to change my keybinds per character is a source of contention for me that I can’t really vocalize correctly.
I like to play with my num-pad. I can bind everything to my num-pad, but then I lose the functionality of my mouse. I’m not going to go and spend a boatload of money on a spiffy gamer keyboard and mouse (college has all my money, heh), and it actually does annoy me to not be able to customize my bar for how I play.
I’d also really, really be happy with an option to hide everything on my UI except my chat box. I actively roleplay, and the world is sokittenpretty that I’d love to be able to hide my UI down to the chat-box itself. Speech bubbles are horridly clunky and ugly in any game, and I don’t want to have to rely on them when I’m trying to immerse myself in the beautiful.
tl;dr:
- Please make bindings per character, or have an option to make them character specific.
- Please allow me to rearrange my abilities. I don’t need more button slots, but I’d like to be able to move that one ability I rarely ever use to the end of my button line so it stops futzing with the other abilities I do use.
- An option to hide my entire UI except the chat-box would be beautiful.
