Grenades and mortars are my main way of getting AOE on walls, and this bug is a right pain. Every patch I hope this gets fixed, but nope.

Split the servers into three (probably fuzzy, as 3 doesn’t divide equally for NA servers) pools of servers, top, mid, low, and randomly dividing the servers up from there. Fuzziness might pull someone from top to mid, or mid to low and vice versa to overcome the problem with numbers. Randomising within a pool means servers with too high a variation for randomisation to cause effect (eg. EU Vab/FoW) will still get split more often than not, but servers will still be relatively similar strength in most cases.
I’m from FoW, and there’s an interesting thing going on here. Reading the forums, I’m hearing complaints about the randomisation being “too much”. Ironically, the problem in the case of RoF/FoW/Vab is that the randomisation actaully isn’t enough.
I get that FoW and Vab are both massively at the bottom, but one of the biggest problems hitting is that the new randomisation system actually wasn’t enough to split FoW and Vab.
When I heard this system was coming in, I was looking forward to having a third team other than vabbi on the books. Sure, it was never going to turn FoW into a premier WvW force or anything, but it’d at least make for hard competition between the two better servers, with the third being FoW or Vabbi actually standing a mediocre chance of picking up scraps and causing a bit of chaos while the other two do “the real fighting”.

Then try to help those realms. Its heartbreaking to come online and see we’re outmanned and a zerg waiting outside our respawn.
Yeah,, this is the first time I’ve seen people actually camping for prolonged periods,,, most people I know are taking a look and saying “yeah,, no point going in to that” and spending their time farming instead. Those really committed just leave for other servers. Both worsen the situation.

I rinsed/repeated this several times in the Font of Rhand before finding an awkward workaround which, if this isn’t a bug, would be a fairly daft puzzle which prevents you reaching the end of this area. So under the spoiler tag for those who want to stay clueless
When completing the Font of Rhand meta-event, you need to obtain a sword from a room guarded by a Vet Flame Legion Igniter. You then need to carry the sword underwater through the next few puzzles, and then place it in the hands of a statue in order to open the gate to the final room (some Champion enemy and a grand chest).
The bug occurs when taking the sword into the water. I find that when you enter the water, the sword is lost from your posession, and is nowhere to be found in the area after entering the water.
I repeated this a few times and found the sword disappeared every time I tried to enter the water while holding it.
The only way around this to allow me to take the sword underwater and overcome the final gate was to carry the sword to the waters edge, drop the sword, jump in the water so my underwater skills activated, then pick the sword up from underwater.
Something I didn’t try was to see if the sword disappeared when getting out of the water and returning to land, but that’s mostly coz I was too happy with finally being able to take the sword underwater and didn’t want to risk it :P
The non-spoiler/tl;dr version: Critical item required for overcoming a puzzle disappears from your posession when you enter water carrying it (which you must do to progress through the puzzle). Only option is to drop it at the waters edge, jump into the water (resulting in a skill switch to underwater skills), then equip the item where your dropped it from underwater.
