I used Precision. If that’s not letting you, then try using NV Inspector, or MSI Afterburner.

I’ve seen this problem in other large scale environment games on multiple Nvidia GPUs over the last year, or so.

The only real solution I’ve found to actually work, is down-clocking the cards memory frequency by about -10/20 Mhz from stock. This has worked in all cases so far, for me at least.

I believe it to be a driver issue. It’s most certainly on Nvidia’s part.

I know that there’s only a few moves that will root you in place – and they’re meant to. Flurry, 100b, etc. etc. They are supposed to be high payoff for high risk (high dmg vs rooted).

That is why I said, attacks that should be able to be used on the move, be allowed to do so.

I’m aware that some obviously should be like this for balance reasoning.

ArenaNet has clearly put a lot of effort into the animations of GW2, and it shows, they’re beautiful.

Just a few gripes though, personally;


1: Combat can feel a bit stiff, and restricting at times, especially in PVP situations, when ‘auto’ attacking, and quite a lot of melee attack ability animations will ‘lock’ you in place, unable to move during the animation sequence, and jumping while in combat will prevent any out-going attacks. (a particularly prevalent single example of this would be Ranger 1h sword regular/auto attacks)

Suggestion: Would it be a plausible idea, that for attacks that ‘should’ be useable on the move, be allowed to do so?. It also may seem like a bit of a small thing, but the fact players cannot attack while jumping also creates a feeling of restriction during combat.


2: Movement speed during combat. I may be missing something here with this, but, if everyone’s movement speed is reduced during combat, does it not just cancel each other out?

Suggestion: Would it not just be the same (balance-wise) not to reduce player movement speed during combat & strafing, as a quality of life change? I can’t see what the reason is for this myself. It only makes combat feel a bit more sluggish. Also, fall damage apparently counts as entering combat, as this also triggers the movement slowing.


I apologise for the overly long post, but these have been gnawing at me for quite a while now, during play.
