Help with harassment from other Roleplayers?

RoseofGilead,
That’s part of the problem. Normally I block and ignore those people but some of them have gone so far as to bother the people who talk to me to discourage them.

Donari,
Sadly there is nothing constructive about what these people have said to me regarding my character. When my character apologized to the other RPer, people called me a “pu**y” and a “fa**ot.” When someone challenged me to an RP fight one time and I respectfully declined because I needed to log off soon, they called me a “b**ch who’s a failure at life.” Then there are all the racist comments they make because my character is of Canthan descent.

Regardless, I thank both of you for your advice and I’ll look into what I can do.

Hello everyone,

So this issue initially wasn’t a big problem for me but due to current circumstances now I can’t keep quiet about it anymore. Lately there have been more people bothering me about my role play for various reasons, some are understandable and some don’t even have a reason. I normally do not care about things like this and just block the people bothering me but when it bothers the people I interact with and makes it hard for me to enjoy basic RP, then there is an issue. I’m aware that there are a lot of ways to deal with this but I would like some advice on what is the best way to go about it.

Backstory to better Understand the Issue
So I’ve been role playing since my early days of Guild Wars 2. Initially I wasn’t too good at it and my character’s backstory was admittedly… bizarre and a bit inconsistent… but I thought it was good enough at the time. Of course people bothered me about it but there were a few nice enough to help me make a better backstory. Eventually I was able to rework my character’s story to what it is now, a lone, honorable mercenary who does jobs for anyone with “coin and a conscience.” It’s generic but interesting enough to get the job done and of course people continued to bother me about it. Some are annoyed by me switching stories, which is understandable, while others hate my character for reasons I do not understand. They hate my character’s habits, my character’s way of talking, my character’s look, everything. Recently, I was RPing with another person and in the session my character said something that was out of line to them in response to something their character said that hit too close to home for him. Of course his honor code demanded that he apologize to them since they didn’t mean to be hurtful but when my character apologized, local chat and map chat blew up with people making fun of my character, telling me I was a pathetic role player, and a multitude of other things I will not repeat. That made it difficult to continue the role play and it was made worse when a role player approached us and (both in and out of character on local chat) continued to insult my role play. I ended up cutting the session with the other person short because of it which saddened them since they were interested in the conversation but there was not much else I could do. Again, I don’t care about what other people say about me or how I do things, but for the sake of those who are on friendly terms with me, I would like some advice on what to do about this.

Tengu Character Creation Ideas

Hello everyone,

So the discussion of Tengu as a playable race is not a new one and being a fan of the idea myself, I figured I might as well add some wood to the fire. Here are a set of racial questions I made for the Tengu Character Creation. Please note this is incomplete and I would prefer you would refrain from insulting the idea. Aside from that, feel free to make any comments, contributions or criticism that you believe would be beneficial to the topic.

Question 1
Of all of our virtues, I highly value…

Honor
(Pending)

Family
(Pending)

History
(Pending)

Question 2
I lived my whole life in the Dominion of Winds and from my experience I believe that the decision to build the walls was…

Extreme but Necessary
We have been betrayed by other races and the Great Tsunami hurt many of us. Although I believe there are other ways of preventing such calamities and I acknowledge that not all outsiders are the same, we can not take any risks.

Wise and Justified
We were driven from our homes, many died in the Great Tsunami, and the world has gone to chaos. If we had not constructed these walls we would have been lost in the violence of the world.

Foolish and Pointless
To hide behind walls is a cowardly display, the Elders say it is for our protection yet we live no better than caged animals. I refuse to live and die in this prison of ignorance.

Question 3

I belong to the house of…

Kendo
We are the Eastern Wind, the Sword is our emblem and we consist mainly of Fighters. The Tengu of this house are strict and hold their teachings with the highest respects. Tradition above all. (Symbol is two swords crossing each other).

Tlahuitolli
We are the Western Wind, the Bow is our emblem and we consist mainly of Hunters. The Tengu of this house are free spirited and travel where they please. Freedom above all. (Symbol is a bow pulled back to shoot three arrows).

(North Wind)
(Not sure what the emblem should be, house consists of diplomats, scholars, and other intellectuals).

(South Wind)
(Emblem is a Pitchfork crossed with a Harpoon, house consists of farmers, fishermen, and other laborers).

Southsun Cove, Game Preserve

or they can remove Karka Queen in it’s current form…

and Rework Southsun to function entirely like Silverwaste. A dynamic zone event for control of the island where in at the end the Ancient Karka spawns (make it a fight on par with that of Triple Trouble) and during the down time lets say 20 minutes you fight and hold off waves of angry karka until you defeat the Karka Queen.

As nice as that would be, keep in mind that too much repetition of something will eventually make it boring.

Hi everyone,

So this is an idea that I’ve had for a while after spending some time in Southsun Cove and The Silverwastes. Imagine having a Consortium Representative who functions similarly to the Mercenary Requisitioner in the Silverwastes except instead of providing service NPCs he brings in a high level animal from any part of Tyria that people can hunt down for loot or other rewards. The animal would spawn in a random point between Southsun Shoals and Dappled Shores since there aren’t that many adult Karkas in those areas. That’s all I have for now so feel free to leave any feedback, everything helps.

Do Wyverns exist in the Guild Wars Universe?

AsmrtOtaku.5084

Hi Everyone,

So I’m aware that Wyvern gear existed in Guild Wars 1 but I haven’t seen anything that mentions actual Wyverns which leaves me wondering if they existed in the Guild Wars Universe.

For those of you who don’t know Wyverns are close relatives of and are often confused for Dragons. the key difference between them is that Dragons have 2 arms, 2 legs and 2 wings where as Wyverns have only 2 wings and 2 legs.

Cult of Zhaitan

There is Necromancer Rissa in the Charr storyline.

Cult of Zhaitan

in Lore

Posted by: AsmrtOtaku.5084

AsmrtOtaku.5084

Hi everyone,

So with Zhaitan being dead in the Living Story and with so much changing in game I always wondered what would be a valid excuse to keep the Risen lore wise. The only other way to bring back the dead is via necromancy so I figured what if Zhaitain had a group of living necromancers? The concept is similar to the Sons of Svanir but the differences are that this cult comprises of multiple species and that they’re much more extreme in practicing their faith. Now that their master is dead, the cult is doing everything to keep Zhaitan’s memory and legacy alive by creating more Risen and finding a way to revive him. That’s all I have for now so feel free to leave any comments, criticism, or contributions that you see fit.

Mounts of Tyria

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: AsmrtOtaku.5084

AsmrtOtaku.5084

So we are all aware of the controversy of introducing mounts to Guild Wars 2 and I am well aware that I might receive much criticism for this but regardless…

It is obvious that mounts are not needed for traveling in this game since we have the waypoint system so I figured instead of travel why not have mounts for other purposes? Below are a list of ways I believe mounts can be used in Guild Wars 2, keep in mind movement speed is not effected.

—Combat—
So for these mounts the gameplay is that your first 3 skills would be based on the animal you are mounted on and the last 2 would be for your weaponry. I call these mounts “Beasts of War” and they use *heavy armor. These mounts can not be used for carrying extra loot or display, they are strictly for combat.

—Package—
The title is pretty straight forward. I call these “Beasts of Burden” and they wear *medium armor. These mounts can not be used for combat or display, they are strictly for carrying extra loot.

—Showcase—
Now people love to show off how fancy they are with their skins, dyes and other things so why not have a mount that matches your style? These mounts are referred to as “Beasts of Fashion” and use *light armor. These mounts can not be used for carrying extra loot or combat, they are strictly for display.

—Cultural/Non-Cultural—
-Cultural mounts work just like any of the 3 mentioned above however the animals used for these mounts are exclusive to the player’s race and can only be found in that race’s region.

Cultural Mount List
Humans— Pending (I want to say a horse but those obviously don’t exist at the moment)
Charr— Plated Behemoth
Norn— Dolyak
Asura— I want to say a motorcycle of some sort
Sylvari—Siamoth (or at least until I find something better in the Sylvari region)

-Non-Cultural Mounts can be used as any of the 3 mentioned above but unlike Cultural Mounts all species have access to these animals since they can be found everywhere in Tyria.

Non-Cultural Mount List
-Drakes
-Moas
(Those are the only two animals I can think of that are scattered all across Tyria, if there are others and are big enough to put your legs in between them I will add it to the list)

*Now I mentioned above that each mount uses a different armor type, I would like to make a few things clear if there is any confusion:
-Any profession can use any of those mounts, all you need to do is switch out the armor to change the use.
-When switching out armor you must completely change them otherwise it will automatically switch the armor back to whatever it initially was before the change.
-Getting armor for mounts is the same thing as buying armor for your character, you can practically strip yourself of your armor and put it on the mount (not recommended).

Well that is all I have to say, feel free to make any comments, contributions or criticism that you see fit.

They said it couldn’t be done but here it is. Ryoku Ronin is my first and main character, his name roughly translates to “Wandering/Rogue Dragon,” fitting for a Samurai. Took a long time and a lot of resources but it was worth it to get this look.

How do Elder Dragons view each other?

in Lore

AsmrtOtaku.5084

Hi everyone,

So considering how ravenous the Dragons are, how some are polar opposites of each other, and the fact that there is only a limited amount of resources for them to share exactly how do the Elder Dragons view each other?

Are they in some sort of agreement that each one of them has control over a certain territory and split the resources among each other?

Do they hate each other and fight over resources since there is only so much “food” to go around before they have to go back to sleep?

Hi everyone,

So I’m a regular Tarnished Coast player who frequents the Ossan Tavern in Divinity’s Reach for roleplay but lately it seems some of the people there have become less and less friendly, especially one guy who keeps following me around the place and badmouths my character. It has already been reported and the guy’s blocked but does anyone have any suggestions as to where else I can do my roleplay?

Good name for a Charr Assassin?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: AsmrtOtaku.5084

AsmrtOtaku.5084

Hi everyone,

So I’m trying to make a Charr assassin but I’m having difficulty coming up with the last name. I’d prefer if the last name started with the word “Smoke” due to the Role Play background I’ve made for him but anything else is fine, I’ll just fix it to match the new name.

Here is a bit of his background to get an idea of what I’m looking for,
This character is the “you’re dead the moment you see him” type. His methods of assassination vary from silently poisoning a victim while they sleep to complete butchery of the target in broad daylight. You never know exactly how he will do his job, only that he will do it. He is a very demonic looking Charr whose face alone is enough to scare grown men. He was once a part of the Flame Legion but defected and joined the Ash Legion. Because of the years he spent with the Flame Legion his fur always gives off a burnt smell hence the name “Smoke.”

Samurai Themed Armor for Grabs (Human)

AsmrtOtaku.5084

So when I first began Guild Wars 2 I searched everywhere to give my first character a samurai themed look. It has taken me a very long time to get it together and I’m actually proud of how it turned out.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who has struggled to get samurai armor so feel free to copy off of this if you really like the look. My only request however is that if you are a part of the Tarnished Coast server please use a different color scheme then mine (this works well with most other dark dyes, I’ve tried it).

Armor (Heavy)
Draconic Helm
Priory Shoulder Pieces
Splint Chest Piece
Pit Fighter Gloves
Banded Leggings
Splint Boots

Dyes
Oxblood
Ruby
Iron
Antique Gold

Weapons
Ceremonial Sabres

Light Armored Professions for Dungeon?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: AsmrtOtaku.5084

AsmrtOtaku.5084

Hello everyone,
So I’m trying to make a character specifically for dungeons but can’t decide on profession. Anyone know what would be a good light armored profession to use for dungeons and if possible can you please list your reasoning as to why?

Regarding gameplay I usually play tank or bruiser style warriors and I mainly build toughness, vitality, and power on both. It would be nice if you could add a build that would be familiar with my play style but feel free to include any type of build that would be most effective of the class.

Mixed Cultural Names

AsmrtOtaku.5084

Hello everyone,
So I am planning on giving my character a name that is a mix between Medieval English and Feudal Japanese, I already got a few but they are already taken. Anyone have any suggestions? Feel free to use names from other nationalities or cultures but please specify the origin and definition of the name.

Here are a few examples of what I came up with:
-Oda Lionheart (derived from the Samurai Oda Nobunaga and the Knight Richard the Lionheart)
-Lord Daimyo (English title Lord and Japanese title Daimyo which is the equivalent to an English Lord)
-Sir Ronin (English title Sir and Ronin which is a title given to rogue samurai)
