Well, I was unable to buy gems since I first tried 6 days ago. I eventually got a 48hr unlock on my account, so I could buy enough to get me the bank and character slots I needed. It doesn’t solve my problem however, and I am not closing my ticket until I am able to buy from the BLTP unhindered. If NCSoft doesn’t correct the entire problem that’s the last of my money they will see.
Guys, you’re right. I look through this thread and I feel bad — you’re not getting as much information and you should, and I apologize for that.
I’ve sent off an email to the team who is working night and day on various issues related to the BLTC and the Gem Store. I hope to be able to post more in the near future or perhaps one of their team members will post an update. But in the meantime, please accept our apologies for any difficulties you’re experiencing.
If you bought and did not get your gems, update your ticket (don’t make a new one, it slows the process) and we’ll watch for those. If you cannot purchase, we also need to look into those situations. We appreciate your interest in purchasing gems and believe me, we want to make it possible for you to do so!

Gaile, what is the big difficulty here? Why do you “hope to be able to post more in the near future or perhaps one of their team members will post an update”? The system is clearly faulty. It is affecting THOUSANDS of people and costing ArenaNet THOUSANDS if not MILLIONS of dollars. It is completely unacceptable that ArenaNet has not even ACKNOWLEDGED this problem in the status updates. I’m at the point now where notwithstanding how much I enjoy the game that this whole affair has left such a bad taste in my mouth – that ArenaNet either is incompetent or just doesn’t care – that I going to simply return my copy of the game for a refund and write the game off.
This issue requires DECISIVE action on the part of ArenaNet in a big way. Is this what you and your team spent so much time on? Developing a game so that an absurd system pushes thousands of players away? Players that want to spend money? What am I missing here?
Explain to us why ArenaNet cannot acknowledge this problem in the status updates and why its taking so long to offer solutions. Because soon alot of us are just going to write GW2 and ArenaNet as a company off.
Amen to this! This sums up how I feel exactly. I want to know what ArenaNet is doing to solve this problem as a whole. Since it is an issue affecting multitudes of players, it deserves more attention.

This is ridiculous and insulting. I have had my card and used it without incident since 1991….until dealing with NCSoft. I need bank space like yesterday and I still can’t buy gems. Crafting is an ordeal now. It’s now been 6 days without a solution. I am tired of updating a ticket every day without a response.

My credit card continues to fail approval upon trying to buy gems as of 5 days at this time. ( i just tried again and failed ) The charges arent reaching my card company, so I assume for some reason my account is still being flagged. Please correct this. Jumping back and forth between my card company, NCSoft support, and this forum is getting old really fast. I just want to play my GW2 without constant technical difficulties. It is taking the enjoyment out of the game. I just updated my report for the third time today. Is someone there? And before you suggest it- a 24 hr override is unacceptable. Don’t suggest getting another card either. I only use this card. I have had i no problems since 1991 with it until dealing with NCSoft, and I don’t use Paypal.

An Arena Net support phone number would go a long way.

I believe we should at least have the alternative of being able to use phone support. Most large companies do.
It’s been about 5 days of aggravation for me as well, and this isn’t the first problem I’ve had with my NCSoft account. It actually goes all the way back to the release of AION. Part of the reason I left that game was the slow response by support. I have never had the shear number of account problems with any of the other game companies I have dealt with. Sorry for QQing but I would simply like to be able to play GW2 without having to constantly deal with technical account difficulties.
As for my problem, I have contacted my credit card company and they have placed a note on my account allowing NCSoft purchases. Please unlock my ability to buy gems from the gem store and make it so I don’t have to go through this again everytime I want to make a purchase. A 24 hr lift is not an acceptable solution when it takes almost a week for support to respond. I will not make any further attempts to buy gems until I get a response.

Ok, I have since had a long conversation with Bank Of America VISA and they have now approved purchases made to NCSoft. Can someone please clear this through your insane Risk Management Program so I can buy gems?

This began on 9/4/12 and I am still waiting for assistance. I would like to buy more bank space, as there isn’t nearly enough. I hope support doesn’t suggest i buy another account or credit card simply to buy gems for this game, because it isn’t gonna happen.
I would have posted sooner but I was waiting for support to correct another issue with being unable to login to the forum…….. -_-
