I’m bumping this thread because this bug is still happening. It just happened to me yesterday on my Ranger – I chose ‘Potent Ring of the Berserker’ as my reward for completing ‘On Red Alert’, but it only gave me ‘Potent Ring’ with an empty upgrade slot.
I thought it might be a recent issue, so was surprised to see that it’s been happening for so long. As others have said, it’s not a huge deal but it was an upgrade I could have used. I even tried to get the ‘Ornate Ruby Jewel’ from the Black Lion Trading Company, but there are only level 50 versions in there, and as this is a level 46 ring they just won’t work.
Is that where the issue is coming from, I wonder? The jewel has had it’s level changed at some point so when the reward is “looted”, the compatibility of ring level and upgrade level don’t match so we just don’t get the upgrade given to us?
