Esports is growing more then ever.

As much as I would love arenas, Its what drove WoW into a kittenhole. The viewer experience was so bad watching people basically duel in small maps…

You’d think it would be more intimate to watch but Gw2 Needs, NEEDS an in game spectator for these types of events much like CS:GO. You open up the client go to the game browser and spectate each and every person.

This would open up to looking at their builds ON YOUR OWN WATCH, checking out each players perspective whenever you want.

Immersion is the way to go, watching this game like a chess game isn’t.

I would sure like that, really. Like in Dota 2 for example when you can join any game and watch from a player perspective or just free camera. That’s a really good idea.

I didn’t really play WoW, can u elaborate your tought a bit more about why the arenas drove the game backwards (or at least from a viewing prespective)?

Smaller Arenas like 2v2 or 3v3, heck even 1v1 would not make it to bad to watch. It’s just to daem hard to follow what’s happening in a conquest match. I really tried watching the Pro Leauge this week but for me it was to hard. The camera just jumps around and you’re missing to much.
It gets hard to highlight a play someone did and so on, do you follow my tought?

I watch alot of Esports and the conquest just seems like all over the place from a viewers perspective.

Heey… So i logged out my necro in Mad Kings Labyrinth, then the haloween event was over, tried to log him today and the game gives me an error message all the time and just restarts… Help? please?

The train did leave the station but has now come to an end. Why do you announce the expansion then wait for soooo long to release it? The marketing strategy behind this is horrible, in my opinion. Me and lots of friends watch the announcing stream and got really happy, started playing a bit more again and even got some new friends to play the game. The last 2 months we haven’t even logged in to the game. Some started playing TERA with the steam release and the rest of us took the FFXIV path.

I do love GW 2, I really do. But this is not the way to handle a expansion release. It would have been better to not say anything until you knew there was maybe 3 – 5 monhts left until the product was finished. Some people might be gone forever.

It’s kinda hard to say 3 points cuz you might like way diffrent stuff then I do, but i’ll list some at least.

1. World Bosses – There is a new thing called megaserver which means there are people everywhere now, you won’t wander around and not see anyone that’s for sure. The world bosses have changed a bit triple wurm is extreamly hard now and needs really good coordination.

2. PvP – This is a personal referense. I do enjoy the PvP more and more and they are testing new matchamking formulas and had a test ladder a month or two back.

3. HoT – THIS!!!! With the new expansion coming man, the things to do and what people do will change so much. New WwW map and redoing the core of it. GvG is promising, specelaziatons, REVENANT, gliding and so on.

It’s really hard to say what kinda stuff you will be doing once the expansion hits the store. My suggestion to you is go online, try to find a nice guild ( if you don’t have one already?) and be patient for 6 weeks. Get back into the combat and the flow of the world and be ready for what lies next!!

That’s sad to hear, i’m pretty sure a plattform like that would bring some new and fresh spirit to the game, especially now that GW is also growing in Asia.

Just got back to GW after a while away. But i remember some talking and CDI about ladders and seasons, like areans and so on. Is there any news at all regarding this or are we still out in the dark??

Well, we could wait and SEE what the patch really brings since they have yet to reveal everything before we start throwing poop?

Yeah, I mean spending time needs to be rewarding to ofcourse, like play this many games and you’ll get some skins, finisher etc. But I agree with Rezz, visible raiting would promote more players to at least try out pvp. Everybody wants to be the very best, like noone never was..

The trick is this game is for everyone, casual friendly and all and I think that is really good. But you can make a game casuall friendly on all levels right? With tiers like they are talking about in the CDI, gold, silver, bronze, it’s casuall/competetive at your own level. This game has great potential, I’ve loved it since day one with the flow in combat and so on. But they really need to spend time on PvP now. I think it has potential to be a good esports game, with diffrent game mods, more balancing and more “reason” to venture to the heart of the mist. I mean the pvp tought is brilliant. Everybody got accees to everything, same runes to choose from, same weapons, jewlery and builds. So it comes down to the skill of the player and IMO there need to be things that show that you are truly a skilled player. Like when you join a game and see a guy wearing " top gold tier skins " you’ll go wooooowowowow this guy is good. I may be dumb but when i join a game now I don’t know how good/skilled a person is. It’s a part of horizontal progress, to show everyone that you are indeed, the very best!

That’s exactly what I mean, i agree to the fullest! But I guess all this ladder & season stuff is a bit further down the road…

So I’ve been playing for a while now, in and out of pvp but I’ve been wondering about this. I know there are leaderboards, but you have to go on the internet to see? This leauge & ladders stuff that they are talking about, are we gona have more like visible raiting stats? Like a lot of the moba games or something like wows arenas? Just wondering for some of my friends are thinking about getting back into the game now with some changes and the feature patch around the corner. OFC, there needs to be balances and so for the pvp overall but I guess my question is; Are we gona have a pvp scene who really shows your place in the game now and is it worth spending time polishing our skills to feel like we can show how good/bad we are?
