I would like to share my PUG experience from yesterday. I posted AC LFG “p3 experienced”. My ele was only lv 62 at the time. Got four 80s and it was the smoothest run eva (for this account anyway)! I was the only ele and they noticed I was blasting might and asked if this was an alt account since I only have 300 AP and yes. Towards the end I ask if they all want to do p2 after and only one person stayed.

I post LFG “p2 experienced” and got all lowbies (engie, guard and mesm ). The 80 warrior decided to leave since he was pressed for time. So I wait for group to fill again and got another 80 warrior (no strength or discipline banner and it turns out he had ogre runes so hello rock dogs xD) and another engi. I ask in party chat if anyone ran path before…nope. At that point I hesitated and was ready to leave but I said heck with it since I have nothing better to do. With little group dps and little profession knowledge, it was one of the slowest runs eva! I tried to share what I know but one person explaining on chat is not enough x__x. Mobs were agroed and events started before I could explain what is going on and what the strategies are. After our nth wipe (lost count but someone lost their pants, lol) I was almost ready to quit but stayed since these guys (even if they didn’t know kittens about the path) were fun and had good attitudes and I was a total noob once ;n;. I thought the breeder part was a real challenge but We got ganked especially bad by the ghosts and they kept rezzing Detha as apparently my message to not before we killed off ghosts got lost in their chat window x__x. I didn’t even bother insisting on a strategy at that point. They surprised me that we were able to charge all the traps in a decent amount of time even with the rock dogs spawning ;^;. Our mesmer had to g2g sleep after we wiped at Ghost Eater. I reposted “P2 at boss”. Got another 80 warrior and we finally finished the dungeon 2+ hours later, lol.

Are you on EU? I can help if you are. I’m not online consistently those last few days ( because the update is kitten), but I can get back if there’s dungeons to do.

Thank you for offering help! Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be able to receive your help since I am not on EU. I still find leveling in dungeons more fun than anywhere else. Even if after setting up a LFG with “Px All Welcome” and getting a bunch of 80s that leave as soon as they join. It is disheartening since I do know the paths in AC but I kitten up a bit since I am only average with Ele and I’ve been running Strong and now Berzerker stats. So, I have kissed dirt quite a bit trying to sustain not only myself but PUGs too, lol. They sometimes ask for heals but I am no guard with Aegis and ele can only do so much healing x_x. I started to run staff just so I had the water field but I would also like to learn S/F and eventually D/F LH. I don’t mind carrying if I can but for that I have to get good at Ele in dungeons in general.

Thanks! I want to dedicate this account solely to dungeons and I was hoping of finding someone that would be willing to help me level to 80 running dungeons. I know a Lv 60 w/o many traits (thanks to infamous 4/2014 feature patch ;n;) is not ideal but I would rather level in dungeons than other means.

Hi! Dungeons are fun! But my highest level character is my Lv 60 Ele on this account. I want to eventually do dungeon tours. Anyone willing to help out? Iam leveling in AC and know all paths pretty well but as you know PUGs can vary greatly. Also this is the best thread in all of the forums!

I like the idea of a Chronomancer profession. So it’s +1.

Ah yeah, what I meant was I’d be interested to see how you personally fitted it into the game lorewise. That was a hint that I wanted to see what you could come up to expand your idea further

Oh my… Well I’m not a big lore hound as other players I think, haha! But I will try too…

I think with the release of Mordremoth, the Asura can “unveil” this new art of Magic to the world. They had hidden it from everyone else with fear that it might be used for evil, but at this point in the story, any tactic should be used. The Asura discovered Chronomancy when experimenting with the Primordus statue in their previous home underground.

Does that offer some explenation? Haha!

How about instead of making it about asura we make it about charr! Rytlock has not been shown since diving into the mist portal. What may seem like a few days could be many months or years to him. He is intent on finding a way to release the curse. During his quest he almost dies and with the help of spirits is imbued with with the knowledge of Chronomancy while on the fringes of death. He comes back to Tyria with this new powers and has the knowledge and the means to start training more chronomancers to take on Mordy. He might even be able to use his powers to save DE after they suffer a fiery doom by turning back the clock. A bit much but, hey, it could work!

[Suggestion] QoL Update for Wardrobe

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I like the wardrobe but feel it can be improved greatly.

My suggestion is that there should be an extra slot for each piece of armor and weapon for the skins. It would similar to how outfits work in that they do not overwrite your armor skins and can be turned on/off. This way as I am leveling I can still have a look I want for as long as I want instead of it changing everytime I upgrage equipment. Sure I can transmute my new equipment but the cost of changing everytime I get new equipment duscourages this. The skins should be saved on the character instead od the equipment.

This would also solve the issue of transmuting ascended equipment with cultural armor skins limiting which of your characters can use your account bound ascended armors and weapons.

The negatives I can think of are that people might end up using less trans charges and as you all know they can also be conveniently bought on the gem store. People might like to transmute their equipment so each stat set has a different look and this change would affect them but if the developers reintroduce an equipment transmutation system like we had before alongside the wardrobe. Another solution is letting us have more than one skin slot for each piece and letting us turn on/off a set at a time as well as pieces individually.

PS-Sorry for typos I am using my phone.

Where are the devs?

TL;DR : Speculation is devs best friend

I believe one of the reasons devs do not post often is also due the fact they can’t talk much about their work with players and only reveal details when they are ready.

Personally, I like to speculate and don’t want all the details right away. There must be something major that they are working on since they are so tight lipped. They reveal little bits of information to suggest just what it is they might be working on. I remember seeing a video of a dev saying iirc that they are working on optimizing the client but it is no easy task and is very laborious. And that reminds me also of how they speak of a major project they are working on that is separate from LW. So I would like to speculate that they might be going as far as rewriting the game engine which would solve a lot of issues with optimization and make it more flexible to give them a better ability to create the content they want. Sure they have not fixed certain bugs but what has the coders so seemingly busy that certain things seem overlooked. If I was a dev and was really passionate about the GW2 something so major is within reason. And it would be difficult not to talk about something I am so passionate about so best to observe in silence with the satisfaction of knowing just what is in store for the players. No I am not getting my hopes up but I know if I was a dev I would like to do the best I can but I know there are limitations to what can be done.

Woop! There is actually a chance not like with in-game RNG! Not that I ever win anything but sweet! On the off chance I should get lucky, I have better level up my Sylvari, Fritta Pancetta, who would love to wield such a sword. Right now she is sapling of a Guardian, but she has big dreams.

[Suggestion] End Game and Guaranteed Rewards

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

After a character reaches level 80 give us horizontal progression and rewards aside from just gaining skill points using a system similar to AP progression and rewards:

  • Each character could get their own progression pool
  • Progression accumulates every time you level
  • Different areas (ie. Maguuma or each different WvW map) could have their own progression pool with specific rewards relating to that area.
  • Rewards could be specific to character professions and/or race.
  • Give us the ability to pick a reward at certain intervals
  • Make rewards account bound

Some of the rewards I can think of are:

  • Weapon Skins
  • Armor Skins
  • Back item skins
  • Dyes that are unique to end game progression
  • Boosters
  • Skin crafting recipes unique to end game progression
  • Permanent increases to MF

Pros:

  • There would be a sense of horizontal progression
  • Gives incentive to log in and play
  • Player feels rewarded even after reaching cap
  • More rewards that are not RNG dependent
  • Can play what is fun for you and still feel rewarded instead of having to grind for gold to get shinys
  • Boost in player morale after having played a level 80 character for a long time

Cons:

  • Development time and resources needed
  • Might affect economy
  • People would play how and where leveling is easiest
  • Something similar to the negatives of the QD champ train in beginner areas where it might be easier to level up or areas where the rewards are perceived as better.
  • I do not know anything about sPvP so I do not have any idea how this type of progression could work unless characters were allowed to level up while also gaining ranks. Of course the players would still be capped at 80 to make things fair but are given the chance to also level up their character to 80 for when they go PVE. Once they reach 80 they could also start gaining end game rewards.

I could go on with the bullets but I tried to keep it concise. What do you guys think? Any ideas on how to make it even better?
