Guild Wars 2

Could I run this to go around discovering the map? Would I get in trouble in the high level areas?

I’m guessing this is a WvW build or…?

Hey guys, after making a thread asking about the state of thieves I’ve decided to endure and keep playing my main. Right now I’m looking to get back in the game, and I think going around clearing the map to 100% would be a good start.

With that said, can anyone recommend a generic PvE build for going around and dealing with random mobs/possibly hopping on some events?

I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 on and off (more off than on to be honest) and miss playing an MMO, so I figured I should come back yet again.

Last time I played the game, thieves were in a pretty bad spot, being considered sub par for pvp (save for 1v1) and a burden on their teams for pve, more often than not.
1-Does this still hold true or have things changed lately?
2-If I hop back on a max level character that I haven’t played since forever, will I be lost among the new content and changes or will it be okay? Wouldn’t really mind starting over anyway.

I’ve been struggling with finding a lvl 80 PvE build for general PvE and dungeons. I got full berserker gear and i’m not sure if that was a good idea due to squishyness, or if my traits are any good.

So I’d like to ask you guys to share any PvE builds (traits/skills/gear) that you’ve been successfully running, along with any tips you might have. Pretty please?

Well I’d mainly use the shortbow to clear the smaller minion waves and the P/P to focus down bosses. I wasn’t exactly planning on switching between the two often during a boss fight.

Any ideas?

I was wondering if anyone could point me out to a viable PvE/Dungeon ranged build, with P/P for single target DPS, Shortbow for AOE/ combo fields support and lots of utility for the party (Shadow Refuge should be a must).

Any thoughts?

Why not just finish your level 78 thief and learn to play in dungeons and spvp?

Or did you get banned for something a while back and that’s why your really leveling again…?

I am also contemplating that to be honest, I just wanted to have a human thief for the awesome cultural ninja armor >.> (the other one is a sylvari).

Main reason being, I logged on him and was at the high level area with all the zombies and I’m finding it incredibly hard to survive there by myself, especially since stealth doesn’t seem to work the same way anymore and mobs come after me after it runs out. So I figured either he’s built wrong or I’m just not used to playing the game/class anymore, which led me to making a human thief.

Any tips?

I just got my thief to 80, was my first character and then I stopped playing it in the 70’s. Trying to figure out the class my self

Thief was also my first character, fell inlove with the class during the beta tests!

Unfortunately, I’m on Desolation, which is a EU server. Don’t think the Overflow servers are shared between EU and US, are they?

I’m coming back to Guild Wars 2 after a pretty long hiatus, and I’m starting a new thief (even though my old one is lvl 78) cause I wanna get used to the game again.

So, I was wondering what the current state of Thieves is right now. I remember there was a lot of discussion back then, about them being next to useless in dungeons or borderline OP in pvp due to “Heartseeker Spam”, etc.

Without further ado,

1- How’s the current viability of Thieves on PVE/WvW/sPvP?

2- Any recommended builds for each of the aforementioned aspects of the game that seem to be working better right now?

3- Any recommended builds for levelling? ( I remember levelling with D/D and a lot of spamming that AoE evade ability along with the per-hit-healing signet)
