I can’t even play my ele in the world. It’s just so soft, and my damage is hilariously low outside of meteor. Meanwhile I watch all these other people just stand and deliver, taking low damage, healing easily, doing way more damage. Oh well, my warrior is fun. Goodbye ele

It’s funny that the ele has double the abilities of all the other classes and is weak. Like, you’d think the complexity factor should bump in and be like “it’s hard to play, but the reward is great” instead it’s like have all these abilities that don’t really do anything!

19 amulets, ~77 different runes, two main hand weapons, three offhand weapons, one 2 hand, with four attunements behind them, 5 trait lines, and 20 utility skills. There is one build that works for PvP.

Why would I ever pay any more money to Anet? HoT expansion was WAY too expensive, and if I had known they were going to do this to the class I’ve spent all my time on, there is no way in hell I would have paid for it. All in the name of e-sport no one watches.

Build Diversity Is Gone

This is the most “cookie-cutter”eque i’ve seen PvP. I see only the same builds. Power scrappers, power shiros, reapers, aura share eles, trap guards, and gs/staff druids. When I do a match and see a thief, mesmer or warrior it’s like whoa. And even then they are running the same builds as each other.

Look, I get it…the strong builds will always be meta. It’s just a little too closed off right now. It’s not a QQ as much as it is a hope that we can get a little bit broader balance moving forward. In a game with so many weapons, traits and utility skills to have the possibility of sooo many different builds…we shouldn’t see this few builds.

Just my 2 cents.

I’ve tried so hard to make ele builds work without tempest, but nothing does. Ele abilities need an overhaul or they need baseline buffs to stats. If I choose certain stats I lose others that are equally important. Apparently the only thing that will work is aura, and I refuse to play support. Why should I have to?

All these amulets, sigils, runes, weapons, and trait lines, an I am forced into ONE combo? This game was a lot more fun before HoT

It’s only viable for support. I don’t want to play support. Why should I have to? I love that there are soooooo many stat combos, sigils, runes, several weapons, different trait lines, yet here I am forced into ONE of them all. GG devs

I honestly can’t stand to play this game now because of the new expansion and it’s grind based additions to the games with HoT. I’m too casual of a player to get a legendary but this new addition for a precursor are so much of a grind fest I might as well grind for gold and buy one off the market. The maps are ok, VB being the best, and TD being the absolute worst to play in. The mastery system is horrible because after completing the expansion with two characters and grinding towards map completions with multiple characters I’m nowhere near to maxing out my mastery for HoT alone (note I’m a casual player) and yet no longer have the interest in replaying these maps after doing it so many times. The core game is still more fun to play than HoT to me, I’ve still done fractals for a while but haven’t seen a single ascended drop besides rings, honestly ascended rates from all areas of the game should be a lot higher due to the costs of materials rising, the amount of gold you are likely using to help out your guild with, who unfortunately are dying due to realizing the new guild updates are killing small guilds altogether. This game has been nothing fun like and previous Guild Wars content I’m used to, I was with GW1 core game when Factions and Nightfall came out and it was always a fun new experience to play, yes it was a new game but the fun content was what mattered. I just am not liking this HoT content and I want to know who else agrees or disagrees.

Yeah I’ve played for about a week after a long break, leaving again. The expansion zones are just awful. The layouts are bad, the NPC monsters are hilariously strong, and then they run in groups of 2-5? And does everything stun or knock down while simultaneously putting on 2-3 conditions AND nuking you for 50+% of your health? It’s not fun at all, I spend more time avoiding NPCs because fighting is so not fun and usually gets me killed.

Then there’s the PvP balance problems. Too much for me, I’m not going to waste my free time getting frustrated.

PvE problems in HoT zones

Are the HoT zones just awful or do I suck? I feel like I know how to play this game but in the HoT zones I get slaughtered all the time. Should I be running a bunker build? Using rifle or longbow? I’m using hammer/gs in zerk gear, 1800 tough, 3k armor, 19.4k hp, I feel like I should be fairly tanky, but I certainly am not.

Trying to complete the Sunrise 1 legendary line, and the Rescue the villagers and defeat harpy kidnappers event is bugged, has been since yesterday. I found a report from 2014 of this same exact bug. It’s nearly two years later, and it is still bugged? Seriously?

All the work I have done so far is waiting for a quest that developers haven’t had the chance to do anything about for two years? Amazing.

I would like to use GS/Hammer but I can’t seem to make that work. Maybe I just suck but I switched to GS/sw+sh and, keep in mind, this is my first attempt at a build, ever:

I just returned from a long absence, can’t seem to find any build that actually works in spvp. I’ve messed around a bunch and can’t seem to make anything work, I don’t think I know enough to make my own build. Best way for me to get reacquainted?

Complaint: unavoidable damage

I am pretty turned off by the expansion already due to the seemingly unavoidable damage that is everywhere now. I’ve been dodge rolling twice in a row and I still take hits that bring me to ~20% health. Should we all be going back to bunker builds or something?

I’m all for making the game difficult, but never before have I died so many times to things I can’t even see. It has sapped the fun from the game and I’ve found myself logging in less and less since the xpac dropped
