Astral Force nerf yet again.

At this point I don’t know why I’m still surprised. Of all classes to tweak they decided to hit the hammer on a class that needs a buff more than anything. GJ Anet. This is a total joke.

Please fix glider lag.

Yeah I also regularly playing around 250ms, and while most of the time I don’t have any problem, sometimes when the lag spikes it makes it impossible to glide correctly. Would love to see this fixed.

We don’t need that kind of shallow “for the sake of” development with the pre-existing characters. Do it for the new future characters if they really have to make it.

Do you regret pre-purchasing HoT?

I don’t regret it but still not satisfied yet. I love everything about the new map, the gliding system, even the mastery “grind” and the “gate”. But sadly here is not nearly as much new armor or weapons I feel there should be for an expansion. Not to mention all the available glider skins are only there to be purchased in the gem store. Basically I don’t like how all the new stuff still hides behind the same old gemstore when they can be put as a reward for various achievements instead.

Also, I still don’t like their stance in adding character slot only for prepurchase. It’s a basic necessity that shouldn’t be bought by player as an extra if they are introducing new class.

50$ is the price of expansion. The base game is already f2p.

I was thinking the best middle ground would be 300 with traits and skills that you can choose. Well, this is fine too. At least this is basically easy elite spec for my main.

So Hype For Druid! But.. Its Kinda Boring.

Yep I was afraid of this. Seems Anet is relying on the honeymoon period hype to sell the expansion but I have a feeling when people actually get down with the classes we’re going to be hearing a lot of complaints.

The druid is extremely one dimensional. After the initial fun of green numbers and zerg diving wears off druid will be boring as all hell. I don’t see it offering anything beyond some heals.

on the bright side ranger might finally have a meta zerg build? which is a plus i guess?

How do players not see a build beyond healing??? I took one look at traits and made a viable zerk build with it. Far superior to non beta standard zerk ranger. And let me tell you this, the build I made is the most fun I’ve ever had with ranger since playing this game. Try actually thinking for yourself for once and make a build. And you just might be impressed with the results.

I’m honestly sick and tired of seeing those posts by players who can’t think and theorycraft properly. Just because Anet sells druid as a healing class doesn’t mean it has to be one. The DPS is always going to be there no matter which traitline you take. That’s a hint for you.

This. I main ranger since release and playing druid in hybrid is the most fun ranger experience I’ve had in a long time. Seems like people who complained just can’t make buulds other than healbot that Anet expect it to be. Druid still has so many flaws, but “boring” is the least issue it has.

I feel like the Druid will only be REALLY needed in raids and probably WvW. Not so much in PvP, except in a coordinated group play, and definitely a no in open world PvE, especially solo.

I main ranger, and this is definitely not what I thought Druid would be like nor something I want to be, but I’m still crossing finger until BWE3 hit and we can see how useful the Druid is.

At least we got dinosaurs. Freaking DINOSAURS. I’m happy with just that.

F2p comes with dozens of restrictions. Your account is free of those limitation. And even if the game went full f2p without limitation, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of one company refunded an account that has been bought a year ago.

Seems like OP is literally the only one who sees this as a negative aspect. I think it’s a really smart design. Makes me wonder if there’s anything else that will be different when playing as Sylvari compared to other race. Also, OP might as well complain about personal story because EVERY races have a different starting story and you have to roll a different race altogether to experience a different story.

SW already balanced as it is. People still need to do events to farm shovels, and 70% of LFG in SW is event map. They might make adjustment to it once HoT kicks in, but right now there is really nothing to fix. Just jump to another map if you land on chest farm map.

Disagree. Old dailies are annoying and such a chore to do. New dailies are easier, faster to do and can be done with less than 10 minutes most of the time.

Nope, because it’s just convenience thing and does not cause power creep in any form.

Anet forcing players to beta test

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Azelvan.2153

If they make the beta on its own server, they would not get enough feedback with a very limited amount of people testing. And if they just release it in this state, the game balance will be broken and I imagine the crowd would go on rampage on the forum. The dev take the middle ground by allowing it to go on live server so everyone could take part of it just on the weekend. Yes it may seems like they “forced” you to play with the unfinished content but then again, it is necessary. Your complaints are no different from people that refuse to see a change in MMORPG, and that’s impossible.

Also, the beta weekend is only like, 3 times. The next one will be the last. If you really don’t like it, then don’t play it on beta. Just take it as some form of “maintenance”. I would agree with you if they take like a whole month of beta to test it but they didn’t. I honestly don’t see any problem with that.

What is going on? Why is GW2 so boring?

Thanks guys. I think I’ve come to the conclusion that GW2 just isn’t the MMO for me, unfortunately. I don’t know if any MMO will be these days. The music is beautiful (Jeremy Soule, another reason I decided to play) and the graphics are great, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty of good, challenging gameplay throughout the regular course of the game (not just at the highest lvls), I don’t think I’m going to find it here. I can’t just auto-attack and have fun, I have to do more. I mean seriously, I know I already mentioned it, but it was SO INCREDIBLY EASY. I was losing virtually NO health at low levels, while stomping everything like I was a lvl 40 in a level 1-10 zone.

I probably should’ve mentioned Dark Souls in that list of games I play too, even though I find that to be over-the-top challenging, mostly. I would say I was looking for something challenging at the level Dragon Age: Origins, and even better, in-between DA:O and Dark Souls in terms of challenge (considering the unique game mechanics of GW2).

Back in the day I played Dark Age of Camelot, Anarchy Online, Asheron’s Call, and World of Warcraft. I played Elder Scrolls Online at launch and that was difficult in some areas and when killing mobs at a higher level than you. Those were all challenging games. Even after just leaving the beginner zones. You couldn’t just run up and kill something 5 levels higher than you. You needed a friend and strategy, and even then you may barely survive.

Thanks for all the feedback folks. I’ll be checking back here once the expansion comes out to see if anything changed.

Yep from the sound of it, GW2 is not the right thing for you if you’re expecting something like hardcore leveling and difficulty right off the bat. My last tip: having a friend to play with is always better in MMO and since leveling in GW2 is easy, you can actually reach “endgame” within no time and enjoy all the challenges as lv 80 (dungeons, fractals, WvW). But anyway, there are tons of other games that are right up your alley, because GW2 is more casual friendly and is different than the game you listed above.#

GW2 is mainly geared towards casuals, so open world PvE is really easy. Most you can do is to try to explore area with higher lv than you. Also search for events, because that what makes PvE more interesting and some can be quite challenging if there are less player in the area. Otherwise, dungeons is the more challenging area you can do, and the first dungeon is unlocked at lv 35.

I suggest you check PvP as well. You don’t need to be lv 80 because all stats are equalized in PvP and gears is just for cosmetic. PvP is where the combat system in this game really shines, and the learning curve is not easy.
