The whole “Commander” topic is another discussion entirely.
As i understand the whole “commander thing” as such it was more including me as a person in the game.
You knew commander as beeing you, like the festival introduction movie you were called “you” by Ellen, Yes she referred to us, but in such an impersonal way.
The commander title solved this greatly for me.
May be the solution is in such a titles like Commander (even though traherne got all the credit
)
And even more accommodating could be the introduction like Leftpaw characters that are more like a counter part to the player instead of another NPC.
And going further on that path give us an option to choose a nickname some NPC refer to us in some ways.
This might even be a limited choice so you can voice them all like 3 option per race and gender that would be 30 names. But that would at least give us some name in the narratives.
I even like it better when they called me “twolegs” some 250 years ago, felt insulted even.
You can get a lot of the season 1 rewards from the laurel vendor now, including many of the items that you could purchase with the festival tickets. They cost a fair few laurels (25 I think) + some gold, but they are there if you need them.
it is not that we don’t have the rewards (well most of) but that we have the ‘currecy’ that buys us none but uses storage.
Would be nice if you cloud always convert it into the new currencies at 2=> 1 rate and only one single 1=>1 in odd cases. Best would be if that were account bound.
Eg take all tokens and convert it into sand, well the sand gives you hardly anything, so this would better be a 1 => 30 conversion (opened a stack yesterday got nothing)
There is allready everything you ask in the game.
The whole story starts with racism, Charr vs human.
Ever hear the ingame jokes the charr and Norn tell , some are pure racism.
We also have factions, the whole races to start with but even then we have the order, the priory and the vigil, each have faction issues against the other.
Come to think of it , what’s the difference between factions and racism ? they both hate the other.
But we have overcome all of that by the end of your personal story.
And to my final note, please don’t get more people vs people in the story and PvE gameplay. personally I have more that i don’t want of it in WvWvW. and the “activities”.

trying to join in for the better part of an hour and then see the event staring without me.
Been there 20 times, and got 3 times in.
of thoses 3, 2 in the first week, 1 in the second week and none thereafter.
I say : “yep mega server is really starting to kick in” and i’m loosing my plce to people where prob half isn’t from Gandara (my world, but hey worlds are lost anyway except in WvW).
What’s bothers me the most since the april feature patch is, that I can no longer play the things I want to play with who I want to play.
Let me explain
In March I really started dooing world bosses on a more regular basis. Namlt Tequatl and 3headed wurm. don’t really do the others that much as it’s mainly Zerging.
Thanks to the fixed schedule the only one really in range is the wurm, but it’s a verry close call eg. in the last 2 weeks I never was on time.
Then when I’m on time it is really hard to get in the instance that i want thanks to the megaserver Mechanism. And each time it got worse to get in.
If you think about it, it is even logical.
As I only play with those people at these events, I’m lower on the list to get in.
When the MS started to kick in I saw a couple names in “my map” , but as they played also Teq together or do wurm more frequent, they apparently have a higher chance to get in the instance. If you follow the MS login (grouping people who play a lot together) This will only get worse.
Another downside is the loss of the different worlds, not really the worlds for PvE only but definitely the language mixup.
Thankfully we now have the Festival & Gauntlet back and LS season 2 to do something different.
Conlcusion: do NOT hate the zerg. Teach the zerg the good practices. Using brain is a difficult activity and people have to be shaken so that the head starts working. And everyone starts winning shinies (or tokens)
you know a zerg is a brainless thing, so you can’t really hate the zerg for dooing something not in the right way, coz if they would do it in the right way that would imply a brain.
I do hate the zerg for coming out of WvW, that’s where they belong and should stay.
PS. this is not meant as to be disrespectful toward the people, but it can be seen that way toward the mechanism.
I loved zerging in Starcraft and Total Annihilation Kingdoms, but that coordinating one. I cannot understand the joy of being part of a Zerg. sorry for that.

Since the MS update i’ve only been able to play less with the people i want to.
Sorry Anet but each Day ESO becomes more and more appealing.
The worst thing for me are :
a) transmutation cost is now 3 times as high for low level items.
=> basic transmutation stone should have been 1 transmutation charge
=> lvl 80 stones = 3 charges
=> <lvl 80 gear and alike should cost 1 charge, lvl 80 (+) cost 3 charges.
1st use of wearable costume should be free, next 1 charge if below 80, 3 if 80
That way the cost would have been the same.
b) the costume weapons are now “stupid” tonics which take inv slot
c) the loss of towncloathes , but that gets into a + change of beeing able to use some as “armor”
From what i was able to observe, the only consideration that is in effect now is in equalizing the numbers of players across all already existing MS instances of that zone. Server, language, group, guilds, friends – all seems to be completely ignored at the moment.
There were issues yesterday with different versions of the game too. After I updated, I was unable to play with anyone in my party or guild who hadn’t yet updated.
today still, was dooing a wurm run and got disconnected again. (since MS at least once a day, shortly after login) but when i connected again, i was on a different server, inside the wurm belly, after he spit them out, so had t try to survive there till next “yummy phase”.
so far the only good thing about the feature pack is the wardrobe – the transmutation cost.
on the personal level Worldbosses will be something for when i’m in vacation and not on holiday, if i remember by then.
The timing is totally wrong.
I Cannot count on my guild to spawn it as the cost is way to high for a small relly casual guild.
I see quite a lot of offers to buy stuff for 1c but the items cost more so you cant actually sell them at that price.
or if an item sells for 50c at the merchant there is an offer to buy at 51c, but you have to pay a order fee of 5c (eg.) wich means of the 51c you would get only 46c.
i would like to see a mechanism the prohibits placing buying-orders like this.
And a clean up of the existing
Soulbound remover. to make them account bound.
- Every map will be invaded at least once per day, probably twice. In some cases, three times.
- Builds do not affect the rotation.
- The rotation is the same across all servers.
- If you play at the same time every day, you will see all 13 maps by the end of the Clockwork Chaos release.
Alas i guess most of us don’t have whole days to play, work/school/sports
I’ve been trying whenever I can but the 2 you need, hardly see them.
you need 13 hours in a row to complete the achiev, but that is when they all comes in one row, still need 5 areas including fire heart rise, and by the looks of the schedule now, and the way to small time frame, I don’t expect it to happen.
Added to that are bug and server overloads, costed me one day i happen to be home, but could not play for a several hours. this second update should last at least a month.
Given i did not have the time to complete gauntlet, that gets postponed and prob wont be able to do finish that one either.
Two weeks really is ample time to complete these if you play even semi regularly.
That is the main problem, stretching the time frame would
a: help us achieve more
b: give the teams more time to test their new content
c: more time to live bug fix stuff.
I’m all for a bit more time to complete stuff.
or a “time machine” where you could go and “redo” stuff.
or at least some vacation time , planned ahead so i know when i can go on a holliday and don’t miss anything ;-)
For some players it is also a complaint that it is too much, too overwhelming, which avoid them from starting or taking up their gw2 play.
One feature that i’m missing is the F12 + ‘C’ key sequence.
once you hit F12 you get the option “log ou” , “Character Select” or “Cancel”
I know it is dangerous here to compare to GW1 but back then you could press “L” or “C” to log out or character select.
it is a small feature but still missing it.
I could even settle for “S” for select to avoid confusion.

The feelings I have about GW2 as a pure PvE player who find no joy at all in anything PvPish (even though i’m almost maxed in costume brawl, which is no fun but way to easy to accomplish as a witch ) [/disclaimer]
I’ve been a GW player since the very start. And I’ve come to wonder what is wrong with GW2?
I’ve just been reading the “very disappointing” topic, what is almost the same, but focused on farmin. My “troubles” are a bit versatile. I too feel very disappointing in GW2 And desperately searching for a good reason to continue playing GW2 and maintaining my Guild. And that saddens me.
like in GW1 skills get nerved manly for PvP reasons. Well the main reason is.
But what else is wrong ?
- GW2 would dynamically scale to the number of people, but it is not so for the low numbers and not for the high. Specially caves or narrow area’s don’t, due to the way-to -high respawn cycle for the low numbers and for the high numbers, it is way to easy even if it takes a long time in the case of world bosses there is hardly a challenge.
We complained about it in the beta but Anet won’t listen. Why is a complete riddle to me. If it was because of when a second player would come along, (s)he would nit have any enemies? Well is (s)he arrives, spawn a couple extra. But give me the possibility to kill a Champion without the constant extra spanw, even if it takes me an hour to do so. Make it more lifelike like you intended with the dynamic events. If I cleared a path, I’ve cleared it, don’t respawn 10m behind me.
- I felt more rewarding in GW even as Anet hated me back the in rewarding my efford.
guildies gave me greens because after 20 runs i still had not got even 1. But even then I got the feeling i did something. Even though GW1 gave me more joy i since the GW2-Beta’s i could no longer play it. - GW1 was a very story driven game, this is all gone due to the open world and personal story is 3rd rank by now.
As a Pure PvE player I feel totally unwelcome. All periodically rewards have PvP tasks in it, thank goddess no longer are they required to get you monthly done, but still there. But each day at least 2 WvW task are in it, and in such I feel unable to complete all PvE daily tasks. And NO WvW is in no means to be considered PvE it’s merely PvP with a little PvE topping that is bad for your teeth.
- Or some brawl or toss s* for the same matter.
If you Anet want that in the reward system plz move them where they belong in the daily/monthly PvP. Don’t come whining about we want you to mix, i don’t see do 2 events, kill 1 Champion in the PvP part. - like in the “very disappointing” topic Anet forces us to farm and grind, but stating that GW2 is not, and nerving most farms.
- You not only have to farm , but you have to farm all styles if you want to collect everything. As pure PvE player i have no access to – Legendary or to ALL armor sets
- I’m beginning to feel like a cash cow with the TP and upgrades you desperately need. Like storage and character-slots to store some more. Don’t get me wrong in GW1 I also bought 20 extra characters, just to have some room. I’ve bought all costumes, but now it is too frequent and way to much.
- with all of the burdens of dailies, weekly and monthlies it is a complete burden.
Each Night i come in and no longer play what I want to, but do stuff to accomplish the daily. I know I don’t have to , but is is the only way to get some rewarding stuff
In GW 1 i too had some stuff that I knew from the start it would take me year to acquire due to my playing style like (FoW) All armor sets or tormented weps, but i also knew i would be able to get them one day, and i did.
in GW2 i know that I never will be able to get my very own legendary, as Anet has decided that I must waste hours in PvP to get the required stuff, an armor set only to get in Pvp but every armor can be obtained in PvP.
I know that there will be responses by PvP players who will complain that they als need to do PvE if they want to do everything.
But in GW2 you never can do everything or you are skipping college/go to work/have a family.
But the fact is that we (PvE and PvP) should be treated equally, those who like both can have the double fun (and chores)
- and I’ve saved the best for last, nerving my favorite class. The one Anet barely dared to announce, as they knew they only kept the name and destroyed all what was fun about it.
Yes, it IS a big deal.
But how so? What big change is this? Was your Ranger friend terminally affected by being unable to stealth out of boss aggro? No, she wasn’t. And if 6 classes can do fine without Stealth in PvE, how are the final two supposed to not be fine.
Especially given how much avoidance we already have between our clones and our blurs. Before Stealth we’re already halfway invincible in PvE due to the enemy constantly wasting attacks on the clones, allowing us plenty time to recharge Endurance to dodge more.
Excuse me ? avoidance through clones? You must have a different GW2 than me because when I use clones, the mobs just run straight through to me.
In some rare cases the do attack the clone.
When downed mesmers now even more can lay still and wait to die (just like Necro’s) coz the mobs just keeps on hitting you, the teleport is insufficient to give any advantage, if they now even look less at your invisibility, well I’m getting totally disappointed in the mesmer
The one thing still missing on the hero panel is an indication of which order you have joined.
On the right- upper side of the hero panel a 3rd icon of your order would be appreciated.
It takes less than an hour with a commanded group during any prime time to complete this section of the monthly. Why do WvW players like me have to go do fractals? Why do we have to leave to go get JP discovery credit more easily?
I don’t actually have a problem with any part of the monthly, just making a point.
I’ve been a couple times in WvW have about 10-14 kills while destroying 2 keeps.
I just don’t seem to deliver the killing blow that seems to count. Waisted several hours.
You complain to get a credit “more easily”, but you can get everything done in WvW.
I complain that I can not get it without going to WvW, that is the difference.
Yeah it is not a new month so no new month rules for january, but i meant that each month you have to go to WvW if you ever want the monthly done.
The first requirement has always been: kill x world invaders.
this post is not meant to discuss the fun in WvW, in my opinion there is none. But there are some who apparently like that **** and that’s their good right, as it is mine to dislike it.
But Anet disagrees, I have to like it:
- to get monthly (laurels and influence)
- to get puzzles complete
- to get world completion (which they don’t even always reward with the gifts of the traveller)
- to get legendary weps.
i abandoned the thought of getting legendary, now i’m again extra discriminated in laurels.
one where you don’t have to got to that dreadfull boring WvW.
Yeah it’s probably me but I can’t imangine why anyone likes to play zerg.
So please anet give me a possibilty to earn 10 laures once in a while

There is only one reason to go to WvWvW to get 100% map completion.
It is terrible that Anet forces it upon us gooing to there, i can not honestly imagine that there are reasonable persons who like it.
1. the biggest numbers win. no tactics or skill can change that fact maybe a 2% gain by using structures/buildings/siege&defend weapons but that’s about it.
2. money drain for repairing you armor, so i now run naked through it to avoid the cost.
3. once i have 100% map completion you’ll never see me there again.
4. it should not influence the real world
5. only childeren like to kill not active players because yo just can becuase he’s not active or totally outnumbered.
6. game crashes, and if it doen’t it has the fog horn bug.
My GPU & CPU have no problems whatsoever with the load.
please remove this game element asap.
