I have some strange input into this. I was having really bad lag for the past 3 days on my desktop. It was animation lag where the game would drop about 10 frames then back up to normal in 1 second intervals. It would look like all animations whether idle or moving would have a moment of slow motion then speed up back to normal only to slow again. was difficult to do anything. This only occurred on my desktop not my lower powered laptop or any of my friend’s computers. I connect via a USB adaptor since I am too far away for a direct connection. Today that adaptor was having issues and I found that it had no drivers for windows 8, that I am running, only 7 and below. I went out and purchased a lower speed N300 compared to the N600 I had before. This N300 is compatible with windows 8. Now all that strange lag is gone and I am playing at the same time and in the same areas I was experiencing this lag before and it is totally gone. Perhaps this hardware/driver incompatibility may be some things that are causing the issues other players are noticing with lag? I’m not saying this is the only thing that could be causing this lag but that I had a success and it could be something players can look into if they are having the same issue as I did.
celestial on dd ele feels so crappy.. the damage is so low compared to valk+zerk ..and if i equip valk i have no crit chance.. if i equip celestial.. i have no power.. which means even when i crit its a kitten umber.. really feels like dd ele is stuck to being semi support to group fights w/ some chip damage and boons .. tbh i rather have valk w/ zerk jewel back and drop the evade on fire 3 + blast on water 3..

Speaking from a spvp/tpvp standpoint ele just have no place in the current meta. Low health, low armor, either no damage or no survivability (other glass cannons have some control or evades or stealth or something ele has at most 2 hard controls with very long cd), very little support (the most support-ish thing u can do is go aurashare which has very limited range and leaves u with very small damage).
Little time ago reading the forums eles were lamenting their uselessness in pve.
Which leaves us with WvW. Staff buff made them possibly viable but then again arent around better aoe damage dealers (cd on meteor shower is looooooooooong, isnt it better to have granades or cluster bomb or something else?).
Pretty sure about the spvp part, is the pve/WvW correct? Before anybody jumps at my throat: i know ele can still kill an attrition battle with somebody else but that requires A LOT of concentration and skill compared with other classes. One mistake and u are down FAST (and i dont play glass cannon) which in the end made me switch to warrior.
at the games current state.. staff eles shine in WvW organized group play/comp’d groups the most.. they control the fights w/ fields since the wars/guards should be looking for the fields to blast/hammerstorm.. the only big problems as staff ele in wvw is having to watch your positioning, having 2+ heart seeking thieves on you, and watching where you lay down your fields/not overlaying other fields… 1 good staff ele can basically carry an entire fight if rotations are on point..
as for spvp/tourny.. i gave up on it when every game i joined had at least 2 necros.. -.- but i do think staff eles could have a place there w/ a good team..
really, though, i dont think eles need a buff.. necros, thieves and rangers just need to be fixed.. and anet really needs to stop trying to balance all 3 game modes together..
We’re only good at 2 things right now. Gimmicky burst build, which although fun as hell can still be outdone by any other class with their burst build with a fraction of the effort, and being everyone else’s boon monkey. That’s all we can do right now. We are not jacks of all trades, that would be engineer. We do 2 things that can be done better by other classes for less effort. We’re wanted for fire and water fields in wvw and that’s about it, but warriors can make fire fields as well, and rangers and engineers can make water fields, so we can be replaced there too. And necro always has been and always will be better at controlling zergs, even more so now with their fear wall and their gigantic marks. Guardians can buff as well as we can with shouts. And I don’t know where the rumor came from that we had the best burst healing, it is simply not true. That would be warrior. I’ve tested both ele and warrior in full clerics gear and warrior outdoes it by a long shot in burst healing. My shouts can heal for over 3k each and I can put 3 of them on my slot bar. That’s an over 9k heal all of which are on pretty decent cooldowns compared to us swapping to water and then dodgeing and healing for a little over 2k twice.
now take that healing power with a few other wars/guards and blast a waterfield..
i was on p4 sparks… one of the guys on the team gave up (hes guildies with the others in team).. and said he will log and asked the team to kick him off..
so we had to find a fifth, when i asked sativo to join to help.. he couldn’t get in no matter what he did
Nah. You have to get to level 90 to get the god drops .;)
Actually they are much better. At 50+ it seems you’re guaranteed to get either a fractal weapon skin or an infused ring in the daily reward chest (every member of the group got one or the other, every time, in every daily chest).
Also I got at least one exotic armor (sometimes named) almost every run during the level 50 tier, and the only magic find I use is a peach tart. Prior to that tier I had never seen such things drop off trash mobs / chests anywhere remotely near the rate that me and the rest of the group got them at.
ive gotten trash from 50+ before.. but it does seem that droprate is alot higher
what was the map u had last? my friend had a poi what was inside an instance of rata sum.. he waypointed out after getting the poi and didnt get the gift of exploration.. so i told him to go out to the main map of rata sum.. and he ended up getting the gift
after the patch.. i am not able to use Magic Find for 3 days in guild to queue list .. (yes i checked to see if there was one already activated or one to activate)
actually one of the cages was bugged on our run.. there was no hp bar on the cage.. the other cage i broke out of… luckily we had a mesmer that could break us out
So we are on the 3rd portion of the fractal… and are stuck in charr form from the previous map… can’t pick up crystals to make the fan work in the asura map -.-
im confused.. is it over or not? because in the overflow im on it says that “the lionguard is actively working to wrest…” while the other overflows say that karka is defeated..
