I just had to deal with this for my wife. Posting to hopefully save people some trouble. Most likely you are on a 32 bit version of windows. Due to technical issues, 32 bit doesn’t allow your pc to use as much RAM for gw2. It’s possible that HoT added a memory leak but it’s also just possible that something changed in the graphic engine that use more RAM.

Permanent Solution:
Upgrade to a 64 bit OS.

Temporary Solution:
Turn your graphics down. I set my wife’s game to minimum graphics except for native shaders and got her from 40 seconds of game time to at least an hour and a half.

Proof:
Google “GW2 OOM healp” and you’ll see people with this same problem when the game launched.

keep getting OOM since hot update game is unplayable for me most i can get in is 15mins (had post on textures before fixed that)

To answer your question about losing gear in inventory on swap. You can buy the exotic bag from fractals. It costs a lot of relics but it prioritizes exotic loot there. Then when you switch from dual to 2hand (assuming you have full exotic weapons) the second weapon goes into the exotic bag if there are open spaces in it.

As someone who has loved condition-mancing from day one I wanted to say thanks for a guide well done. I always wondered about the math behind the fun and how to make the most out of my favorite play style and now I know.

As a necro interested in end game I would love it if you added fractal/boss strategies. There’s nothing worse than being the noob who doesn’t use the skills that his group was depending on him for.

All in all keep up the good work. Glad to find a guide that isn’t "Stack moar bleeds!! Be op!!! – guide written by A. Warr Ior
