Sorry about the double-post.
I think I’m going to take off the sound card for now, taking Essence’s advice. Also, after a bit of looking around, I was thinking about getting 2x 4GB Superclocked GTX 770 SLI instead of a GTX 780 or GTX Titan.
Any more opinions are welcome, thanks for all the replies so far.
There is a lot of wasted money there.
If your going to get that MB, you will be paying for the extras. One of those extras is a higher end onboard audio. You then add in a sound card which make one of the extras your paying for irrelevant.
The reason I’m getting a soundcard is because it will be hooked up to my home entertainment system and through a lot of research many people recommended to stay away from onboard and keep with a dedicated soundcard.
Pretty much all of the z87 boards are going to perform (gaming) relatively the same, so I can’t really see paying for a pricier one unless you simply must have it for the asethetics.
I wanted space for upgrading and to be honest, I haven’t kept up with what’s being released PC-wise for the last two and a half years. This is my first PC build, the one I currently own was prebuild.
Tbh this seems more of wanting peen spec rig vs wanting actual performance rig.
Going over the top a bit there? Why would I build a PC for peen? I’m just trying to get at least somewhat near the best I can. As I just said, this is my first build hence I asked a question regarding this PC. People can recommend things or say change this or change that.
Thanks.

Hmmm I’ll have to think on this then! I was gonna order it, now I’ve got a bit more to think about haha.
Thanks for the input and advice!
Unless you play on 4k resolution for 6GB.
Is this the only difference? :o
Get GTX780… and don’t look at me.. I’m just an early adopter.
Haha funny enough I was looking around and saw your forum signature and wondered if you’d reply here!
Are you sure on this? Is there a big difference between the 780 and Titan or not? What about the 3GB vs. 6GB?
Sorry I’ve never really gone into much focus on graphics cards!
Thanks!
Why get a titan when you can get a 780 which has pretty much the same performance(oc) and is way way cheaper?
I suppose it’s just me being a perfectionist and disregarding things like this haha.
I could get the Titan overclocked, or would that be taking it too far?
Haha, sorry! This is just my second build and I wanted something that will show things how they’re meant to be shown!
I’m currently running on an AMD Phenom II x4 @ 3.5Ghz, 4GB RAM, GTX 570 and 1TB HDD with an Asus D1 soundcard. I wanted something MUCH more, so I put this together. I just didn’t wanna buy it and regret it.
Thanks for the input!
So, basically I’ve been building a new PC and I would like some views on this and if it’d be decent for GW 2 (WvW especially) and many other games like Crysis 3 and Metro, TERA.
