OMG!! IKR!!
I loved the Hylek “toss” and they even frik’n say “Up ya goo!” absolutely hilarious. I started looking for those Hylek just for that reason !
Do you just need the research tiers done or individual upgrades like guild bank or whatever?
“If your guild had obtained the necessary research level and prerequisites to have consumables like banners or Vault Transport unlocked under the current system, you will have them unlocked to craft in the new system.” ~ Rethinking Guilds
“If your guild has already unlocked the research level that grants access to a given upgrade in the current system, you’ll be grandfathered in so that you keep what you’ve earned under the current live system.’
I read that also from the link “grandfathered” I posted. That could only mean we will have access to things like Hero Banners if you have reached that level of research and unlocked that particular guild item. That assumption comes from Rethinking Guilds. Since they are not likely to take those items away, even though they could if they chose.
It does not state that we will be grandfathered to the new guild level 24 much less level 40 or 46 as the picture shows (see bottom of link “costs” i.e. the “((Guild Level:)) 46” ). Hence, some clarification would be nice.
Also “As you build, you’ll gain levels, and new upgrades will become available for purchase”. Note the “you’ll gain levels, and new upgrades will become available for purchase” implies we get to keep what we have unlocked and will need to level in order to unlock any NEW items added.
Can we get a POI show or blog post with a little more detail about how this new Guild Hall Leveling System works?
Would make sense since WvW had a POI to go over some basics with it’s new Claiming System.
It appears we will need to level our Guild Hall to level 40. Is it really going to cost thousands of materials donated to the guild hall in order to level up the guild (example of costs)? I thought we are getting grandfathered ? I guess that is only the items not the guild levels?
Yes, before the tomatoes start flying, it’s a want not a need to level the guild hall ;D
Can we get a ball park cost to “Funding” or Mount an Expedition to claim a guild hall? How much coin or items will be required?
Thanks
Does anyone one know if Elite Specializations will cost more hero points than core specializations? I know this has been talked about in the videos and blog posts but I have not seen a confirmation of hero point costs. It sounds like it will be the same as core, only if you have HoT.
Thanks
i hear ya; these days it’s nigh impossible to find a group of people who haven’t done each dungeon before or want to do dungeons with other naive, adventure-seeking players. wish i could grab Dinky and duo the place at our own pace
Talk to Seth Moonshadow, they enjoy Dungeon Clears vs Dungeon runs! They take their time in dungeons and enjoy playing with others who do not “run” the dungeon. They more often than not attempt to defeat every foe in almost all the dungeons. They do not require level 80’s or expect knowing the dungeons. They try to do a dungeon a month ( a story and path each week from same dungeon).
We are getting:
Experience Scroll
Birthday Booster
Bag of Spirit Shards
Random mini from years 1-3 ( with all new minis for year 3) OR Super Birthday Blaster (boons last for 30m rather than 10m)
That’s my guess anyway. And I’m happy to have them what ever they maybe! I enjoy getting them, it’s a fun little surprise
Yes, it came with specializations update as part of the new system for using Mastery System. ALSO If you have noticed that “coming next level” screen can be brought up by clicking in the lower right level icon. That is where we will be clicking in the future for HoT Mastery System Track leveling. So it is NOT going away, as it uses that new system. I kinda like the new system, it is at best a mild annoyance.
Even if that perception is wrong, only at lower levels, 1-20ish -30ish, does it come up that often. If you are leveling by playing that is. Otherwise, just click your books, click your screens and you don’t see them anymore.

DOH!
Agreed. A little too much removal of what we, the players, call fun just because we are not playing the way they want. I thought we were supposed to be able to play they way we want? And get drops!
I remember in guild wars 1 when I made toons just to hold all my drops because they were so plentiful. It’s a game players want loot! Loot i s50% of your basic rpg!
It goes like this: Find bad guy, kill them, get loot (and XP), sale / trade /upgrade repeat.
And there you have 99% of all rpgs / mmorpgs.
Anyway, since anet hasn’t commented I am assuming the carts are hosed along with champs.
bummer!
That’s certainly not possible. After all, Anet did promise us never to mess with drops without mentioning it in the patch notes.
It is 100% possible! I have tried it with multiple toons and none of them received drops from the carts anymore. Try it and see, it’s the group of carts in Blood Hill Camps south of the WP east of the Renown Heart. I was there with some guildys new to the game. Showing them how to get tin, coal and thread with out buying it from a vender. Granted they are low level items and not primordium. None of my guildys received any drops either. There were 6 of us so it was not just my account / software.
Now it could be they never meant for the carts to drop items. They have been doing it since release though. I always felt it was a unique way of adding random loot drops. It made sense that a “supply cart” would have supplies!!
Again, hence my post!
I understand the reasoning for demoting the 1-17 level map champs. I don’t agree with it. It was a way before, megaserver, to get toons in otherwise vacant maps. I’m fine with it since I preferred Gendarran Fields champs anyway.
As posted I noticed changes to Gendarran Fields, The champ demotions and the cart drops removed. I did not see Gendarran Fields in Patch notes or Game updates and wanted to know if this was a bug, intended or an accident. Leave the champs “nerf’d” if they must but at least bring back the cart drops! It added a fun unique experience to the game on par with other mmorpgs.
Cormac, thanks for the info. I had not been in GF for a while. Did it mention the cart drops?
Thx
tolunart, I have been doing the GF champ run before the QD champ run began as that was the first champ run I found out about. So I am not just simply shifting locations.
Aidan Savage, Yup I never saw a update or release note that mentions being able to “rank” an elite to a champion. That does not mean it doesn’t exist. I just have not seen anything about it. Just what toons type in map chat.
Another note I forgot to add to the original post was that the “supply cart’s” have also undergone a “nerfing”. They used to drop tin, coal, foods, and threads when you destroy them. Now they provide nothing
None of this was mentioned in a game update or release note as afar as I know. Hence my post.
I know it was intended to demote the Plains of Ashford, Caladon Forest, Metrica Province, Queensdale, and Wayferer Foothills champions.
Was it intended to demote the Gendarran Fields champions also? There used to be two champions at Brigantine Isles (now an elite & Veteran), two at Blood Hill Camps (now two veterans), two at Overlook Caverns (now only one and an elite), and two at Northfields (now only one and an elite).
Is this a bug or is there plans to return it back? Or is this the new Gendarran Fields?
