I agree weapon swap is not the answer. Now before you all hang me for saying that, I think that the Revenant should have a range toggle, meaning that each weapon has a ranged and melee mode (eg if you where using a hammer and hit the weapon swap button it would swap to a set of melee hammer skills). Now this option would likely require a good bit of work on the part of the devs, so who knows whether they would go with this, or or just tack on a weapon swap.

The standard edition will be available in a “boxed copy” version from some authorized retailers. Some of those retailers are engaged in the pre-purchase program. Others are offering a pre-order, which is not the same thing and will not gain the benefits of the actual pre-purchase.

So if I buy a boxed copy from a local store and apply the code to my account, I can then go to the gem store and get the Ultimate Edition there for $50 more?

I’m getting like 5-14 fps it doesn’t seem to be hard ware related and I already tried deleting the gw2cache file and that didn’t help

THE PROBLEMS WITH ASCENDED AND LEGENDARY GEAR
One major problem with Legendary gear vs Ascended gear atm is that Legendary weapons have the ability to swap stats at will, making Legendary weapons the BiS weapons available atm. To illustrate why this is important take this example: Ascended armor and weapons have been added to the game, so a player(we’ll call him John) learns about this gear and (for some reason or another) decides to go make him self a set, two to three months later (depending on how many weapons he crafted) John has his full set and being a bit of a power gamer he has made a special build that he built the gear for, then a couple weeks later a skill balance patch comes out, invalidating his build and his armor by extension. Now all his hard work go’s down the drain and John must choose whether start all over again or to just give up on ascended gear and stick to exotics.
This is a even worse problem when you have multiple toons and want to give them all Ascended gear as decking out a full account could take upwards of two years or more (this is going off the numbers A-net gave us). Now if your going to invest that much time in to your account then you would (quite reasonably) want to know that your investment was secure and that it wouldn’t be lost the next time a skill balance came out.
When Ascended crafting first came out A-net changed Legendarys to have ascended level stats so they would keep there equal to BiS status, but they made one other change, and that was the ability to swap stats any time you where out of combat, which took Legendarys from being equal to BiS to being BiS. Now I’m not saying that this should be taken away form Legendarys simply that this ability should be given to Ascended gear as well, that way you don’t lose months worth of work to a skill patch, and Legendarys are back to being the “Shiniest Shiny” only. As far as I can tell this would be the quickest and easiest solution to please as many people as possible.

The Interface of Command: The Squad UI
Now to control 50 people (give or take) the commander needs a UI that can hold 50 people with out over filling the screen. The current party UI won’t cut it, even if it was adjusted so that it could display that many party members it would still take up half of your screen or more, so the squad interface needs to be designed from scratch. Now, to get a squad interface that can hold the required number of people and provide the the necessary info for the commander to effectively manege his squad, the interface needs to be able provide two things, organization and information.
Organization. For organization the commander needs to be able to move squad members (via a click and drag interface) in to sub-squads of five members, so he can organize the squad into different rolls (ranged, melee, support etc etc.), as well as kick or invite players into the squad. So for the individual players know what group there in the color of the dots on the mini-map needs to be changed from green all the time, to green when not in a squad, yellow while in a squad, and red for sub-squad members. To make it easy for the commander to give orders to individual sub-squads, each sub-squad needs it’s own squad number, that would display in the top left hand corner of each members screen (that way the commander could simply say “S1 flank them” or “S5 and 6 draw them out” instead of having to name individual players).
Information. For information the commander needs to know four things, how much supply his squad has, which sub-squad has its, squad size, and player info (meaning health and profession).
To determine how much supply his squad has all the commander needs is a supply total number at the top of his squad interface (preferably with a refresh button), supply info would also be displayed on the leader of each sub-squad .
For squad size info all that would be needed is a squad total number placed near the total supply number.
There are two things a commander needs to know about the players in his squad a) profession and b) how much health they have, the current player cube party interface won’t work as even if you removed the health and buff bar, and used the background of the portrait to display health, 40-50 of these would still take up half the screen. My answer is to take a small circle (somewhere between 25 to 50% the size of the current player portrait) to represent there health bar, and place there profession icon in the middle (these would also show the players name when you mouse over them).

The Sign of Command: The Tag
On maps with multiple commanders who’s who and who’s doing what becomes a real problem as does trying to run a guild and/or havoc group with a tag, the solution for who and what is to give us multiple tag colors (eg red is attack, yellow defense etc etc) and/or shapes (eg crossed axes is attack, and a skull is for a havoc group etc). For the second problem we need a way to set our tags as squad or guild+squad setings

The Trials of Command: The Tutorial
Last but not least, the commander upon first entering WvW (after buying his tag that is) needs complete a tutorial that gives him basic training in how to use the features (this applies to new and old commanders).

This is a compilation of ideas that I have adapted to work together for what would be a complete overhaul of the Commander system.(not all the ideas here are my own so credit go’s where credit is due(you know who you are))

The Tools of Command: Skills
An all new skill bar that is added on top of the current weapon skill bar that would contain Five new command skills linked to F5-F9 buttons. (none of these skills have cooldown or cast time, as the affects are visual only and are limited to the members of your squad).
F5 “Stack on Me!”
Skill Description: Call down a beam of light on you that persists for 10s or until you move and sends a center screen message to all squad members within 2000 range that says “Stack on Me”.

F6 “Attack That Target!”
Skill Description: Calls a large crossed swords icon on the skills target and sends a center screen message to all squad members within 2000 range that says “Attack That Target”.

F7 “Don’t Attack!”
Skill Description: Calls down a large stop symbol on the skills target and sends a center screen message to any squad members attacking the target that says “Stop Attacking!”

F8 “Build This”
Skill Description: Calls a large green check mark down on the target unfinished siege build site,
which persists until the site is finished or destroyed.

F9 “Don’t Build”
Skill Description: Calls down a large stop symbol on the target siege build site and sends a center screen message to any squad members building it, that says “Stop Building That”

The Voice of Command: Chat
Commanders should have there own chat channel that only they and Lieutenants and Scouts can use and has no chat suppression, but can be turned off if need be.

The Right Hand of Command: The Lieutenant
The Commander needs to have the ability to promote competent members of his squad to Lieutenant status (limited to one in ten members, above ten, in other words you have to have at least twenty members in your squad to promote a Lieutenant). Lieutenant status gives you a modified commander tag and accesses to the commander channel. This ability would be most useful for large squads (50+) as it would allow the commander to more easily split the squad and make simultaneous attacks against multiple targets, or preform pincher movements and attack Stonemist or a keep from two or more directions at once

The Eyes and Ears of Command: The Scout
The Scout, like the Lieutenant is a promotion the commander can give a member of his squad. Unlike the Lieutenant the purpose of the Scout is not to lead an additional squad, but to range far ahead of the main force and mark easy targets, evaluate defense’s, check time left on Righteous Indignation buffs and so on. As the Scout would not see much front line combat he should get rewarded for his services, so as long as he is not with in 4,000 range of the commander and would not otherwise get credit for the event, he should get a silver level participation reward for any event the commander gets credit for, as well as a special reward box for each captured camp, tower, keep or castle, that contained 3-30 Badges of Honor 1-5 loot bags, (the bags can contain anything that the loot bags dropped from enemy’s can, minus the badges), as well as the Fragments and Champ box from the castle, keep or tower lord.

The Soldiers of Command: The Squad
The squad function as it is now is next to worthless. For starters the squad has a cap of only thirty players, that needs to be changed to at least fifty players, to manage to control that many players the commander would need to set Lieutenants to control parts of the squad. So as you can see larger squad sizes wouldn’t necessarily promote zerging. Also to encourage people to join squads they should get a slight buff to WxP, karma and gold from events. Given how Fort Trinity is constructed in less than a few weeks, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Infinite Coil Reactor – which spans the full complex – was built and operational within a few months.

No disrespect intended but Fort Trinity was a abandoned Charr fortress (judging by the design) that the Pact re-purposed for there use

The OP had a lot of great ideas and i would love to see them implemented, but they require all living story to take place in new zones put behind PS blocks. That being said my idea is an expansion of his and would allow for new and existing LS content to have lasting affect on existing open world zones. For example after the Scarlet plot line wraps up, in zones that had portal invasions take place, leave 15 to 20 group of enemies from the invasions (eg Twisted, Molten, Aethers) and then have them slowly trickle out of the zone (at the rate of say three or four groups a week), maybe have some dynamic events to go along with it.(that would give them about a month in zone before the spawns would go back to normal) Finely have a abandoned Aetherblade base and/or some broken Twisted lying around the zone to remind players of what happened there.

has anyone seen the npc Audael the Wanderer before? a female Norn, wears a bear skin and travels with a Juvenile Brown Bear, i found her in Fields of Ruin just south of The Ogre Road Waypoint. i did a Google search and nothing came up same with the Wiki. if anyone has any ideas about this npc please share them
