Hiya,
last night I fought all 3 dragons, (Claw, shatterer and Teq). Claw was fine however, the exact same thing happened on the other 2. I thought at first perhaps my speakers were at fault but, it was gw2. A quick log out and relaunch fixed the issue. First time this has ever happened.
Just curious to know if anyone know’s the name of the song that is playing when fighting Jormag’s Claw. Pretty kitten epic
Thanks for the reply Azarul. I think I’ll go ahead and give the hammer a go. Perhaps try it with axe/shield or axe/mace or even mace/mace as a secondary. I curious to know if you feel like you kind of have to go for a defensive build in dungeons? As I said I’m feeling ‘forced’ to use a shield and stack defensive stats. Even with them I’m still holding the aggro every fight.
Perhaps I run with under geared people (always pugs) but, I’m sure this cannot be the case everyday.
Anyone else with some builds? Thanks.
Heya mate, thanks for the reply. Your guild definitely sounds like what I am interested in. I’m always willing to learn new styles/try out different builds, help other’s and in turn be helped. As I said I’m not too fussed if the guild isn’t based in Aus. Please feel free to hit me up when you get a chance. Thanks again!
Bump. Also wanted to stress the ‘having to use a shield’ factor. No matter what I do I always seem to have the aggro of the mobs. I take hit’s pretty hard still even with 2300 armour and honestly couldn’t see any survival without healing shouts. Thanks
Heya guys,
I’m an 80 warrior on Isle of Janthir server. I have been gearing up quite a bit in dungeon’s and have just started getting into pvp. What I’m looking for in a guild would be players focused on doing dungeon runs and setting up good parties. Also, group wvw runs and battlegrounds. I would like a preferably small guild. Too many people and things are just all over the place and also, a guild with MATURE people in it. I can’t stress that last one enough. Aussie guilds a plus cause that’s where I am although not necessary.
Please put down a post here or contact Zaythe in game. Thanks heaps!
Just ran SE path 3 and had a major problem with rubber banding. Mainly boss fights. When evading out, the animation would start and then rubber band you back to where u were standing taking in the hit. Ta
Hey guys.
I have a few questions concerning pve dungeon builds. Atm I am using power/prec/tough gear, healing shouts and have 4 exotics. Generally I have been using GS and axe/shield. I’m not overly a fan of using the shield but, I feel that i have to use it in dungeons. This is mainly because I seem to always get aggro and have to switch over to survive.
I am a fan of Gs axe/axe, and really like switching between the 2 in battles. Is this viable not being a glass cannon and can I do it with power/prec/tough and if so, what sigils? I hear that the crit damage ones seem to be the way to go.
I’m also interested in sword/sword but, so far haven’t really used it. A few reason’s come to mind. 1, I’m not sure about what secondary weapon to use with s/s. I know rifle adds in some bleeds but, I like the ‘in your face’ style of melee weapon’s. 2, I hear quite a few people bagging out condition s/s builds generally saying other classes can do it a lot better and I really don’t want to spend a lot of time gearing for it and then it not being very desirable.
What weapon combo’s are u guys using? I haven’t really touched hammer because it kind of feels a bit slow and I like it fast paced. Same goes for mace. Any help would be great!
Trying for a ‘classic’ kind of warrior. undecided on these 2. only difference is the shoulder’s and glove’s.

I started off doing SE in greens and bought a couple of yellows. It was a bit tough but, after getting a few pieces, it really is easy. I think you can get a power/prec/tough set in Arah as well but, I’m not too sure. Doing dungeons I think is the way to go. You will save yourself a fair whack of gold in the process and make some more.
Ah, I just made a post about my old friend Trahearne. I gotta say, I CANNOT stand his voice. It drives me nuts. I cringe when it is his turn to speak. It literally is boring and I feel like going to sleep listening to him. Suffer from insomnia? I have the perfect remedy!
I notice Australians pronounce it “kay” as well
Nope, Aussie’s SHOULD pronounce it as ‘key’. That’s what I was brought up with. If any Aussie’s are pronouncing it as ‘kay’ or ‘kway’ they are using bad english. Seem’s that American’s are the only one’s who pronounce it ‘incorrectly’.
Anyone else find Trahearne to sound like the most boring person ever? I usually have to turn off my speakers cause I go into snooze mode. I just did a story mode quest before where he gave a ‘rallying’ speech. The npc’s congratulated him on the speech to which I think they must of been asleep like me and were only being polite. When bad stuff is going down, he sounds so uninterested and bored. Ugh, I love this game but, Trahearne needs to be redone.
Hey TGSlasher. I’m interested in your build but, even copy pasting I can’t seem to view the link. Do you know also how good a bleeds build would be in pve? I haven’t really touched swords that much. Thanks
I gotta say I’m still having a blast. I see a few complaints here and there but, most of these complaints are coming from WoW players who are used to easy-mode, hand out etc. Personally I bought both gw2 and mop and well, I cancelled my wow account and don’t plan on going back. The game is very fresh and has a unique feel to it.
10/10
Awesome, thanks guys.
Ah awesome. Thanks for the reply. I have been searching the net and have had no luck finding it. If anyone knows, please post!
Hey guys, I wanted to know if it is possible to obtain the human male armour seen on the profession selection screen when making a new character and if so, what is it called? Thanks
Actually I was wondering myself when using GS axe/axe and signets if u could swap out the crit damage for toughness? Not as much dps but, would u take hits a lot better and be more desirable in dungeons?
Edit: Cause atm apart from gs axe/axe, which I enjoyed, I am totally lost on what to use for dungeons. Atm I’m kind of using axe/axe and trying different 2nd weapons but, can’t seem to find anything to back it up nicely
Heya mate, this definitely sounds like a fun build and am willing to try it. I was accidentally a signet GS axe/axe build (had no idea it existed until reading the forums and lo-and-behold, I was set up very similar to it). What stats would u recommend? I’m running power, prec, toughness. Also, what other weapon apart from the rifle do u think would be good? I love to be on the front lines 100% of the time.
I’m a beast in dungeons.
Using GS or Axe to deal DPS (depending on the fight) while using dodge/EP/DP/Sblock to not die.
I switch to hammer+mace/mace and signet of fury+zerk stance when I get those fights with tons of trash where people usually die, spamming CC all the way, that’s unless there’s a Guardian in the team who knows how to lockdown trash.
I also switch to Longbow in those fights where anti-melee is so prominent that you’re better off from range. My set is Pow/Prec/Tou on armor and weapon, Pow/Prec/CritDmg from jewels (you can stack up to 36% total critdmg from jewels!).
Never had any issue in any dungeon, I deal tremendous damage and don’t die while also giving Fury/Might and Battle Standard, also stacking Vuln on enemies and getting 25 stacks of might regularly.
This is what a Warrior should do imo, tearing things apart while avoiding damage through timed stances, dodges, evades, mobility.
Hey mate, just wondering how u do it? I’m using GS and axe/shield but, struggle to keep up with vun stacks and might. Any particular rotation and tips u can help me out with. Thanks heaps
Yep, starting to get my knight’s gear while farming SE. Just curious on weapon choice? I’m using GS and axe/shield. Followed a particular build by Red Falcon found here:
He says that he gets 25 stacks of might easily but, mine always drop off. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Might try for mace/mace
It really depends, if you going full glass cannon then you going to die a lot in dungeons and WvW. Personally I left the glass cannon build as soon as I saw how everyone else pwned me so easily and how useless I felt in dungeon runs.
Over all a warrior who is spec correctly should deal heavy damage without being a glass cannon. PvE wise hundred blades deals a lot of damage but in maps and events in the 70+ maps you will get surrounded by so many mobs that you will eat the dust in no time. In the other hand a correctly spec “tank” build can mitigate the damage while having more hp and sources to push his damage higher and higher over time. Same applies to condition damage warrior who DoT the crap out of enemies, their main hits don’t seem big but they do deal a with threads just as fast.
As for gear goes, Karma farming was easy for me, I got my full exotic set in about a week, could have taken me less but I was doing WvW only also crafted a set of exotic weapons and jewels which took some time off farming karma.
Dungeon armor is ok, but I find it hard to find people to do exp modes outside the Citadel of Flames and sometimes Arah, many of said dungeons are bug as well.
WvW got an exotic set, but is worthless since the badge drop rate is kitten
Thanks for the reply mate. I’m curious as to what stats u use and weapons? If going for a dot kind of class I suppose swords would be in there somewhere. I am a big fan of crit damage/precision but, the deaths are really ruining my dungeon experience. Only been 80 for a week so any further advice would be great.
Ok, so I had a go of CoE and it really wasn’t fun. Can only really get pug groups and well, we spent nearly 2 hours doing it, mainly running back from being dead all the time. While I’m not the worst the player, I do dodge etc, some mechanics are really really hard. I kind of felt that while I need to learn the fights, get better gear etc, it kind of felt like it wasn’t worth it.
Suppose I’ll have to blow my gold on some toughness gear.
im 400 AS, so feel free to mail me in game if you want something made. http://www.gw2db.com/recipes/armorsmith has a list of all the recipes.
however, i’d recommend getting toughness/power/prec or vital gear if you plan on running dungeons. CM was probably costly because of your toughness (along with your party not knowing mechanics).
So perhaps get rid of the crit damage for toughness? I do enjoy high precision and the crit damage for well, nice numbers. I had a look at armour in dungeons and it looks like CoE is the way to go having power, prec and crit damage. Perhaps that kind of build is good for world boss events? I do find atm I get aggro most of the time and spend a lot of the time kiting till someone picks up the boss. We fought Lyssa last night and she chased me the entire fight. Good fun tho
Berserker’s Draconic armour is about 2.5g per item in material cost, so 15g for the set. Doesn’t take too long to make that money, and the cost goes down if you mine the orich yourself (always do the daily orich farm). Gems cost about the same again per piece, as do weapons. So close to 30g for a complete set (2 weapons, full armour, full gems).
As for what it allows you to do: 25k 100 blades, 8-9k whirlwind, 4k bladetrails. It also allows you to die very, very quickly so get used to having panic buttons in your utility slots.
Although it will look terrible, you can mix and match items from different sets (crafted, karma, dungeons, pvp) to get the stats you want. If you don’t want to look terrible transmutation stones can be used to change the appearance of the items.
Getting the first set of Warrior armour isn’t the issue. Getting the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc sets are
Rightio, looks like I have a goal. I do now know why I get chopped up rather easy but, fair trade to do high damage. Just another question. When u say getting the 2nd, 3rd and 4th sets, which ones do u mean? I’m kind of lost with gear and ‘ilevel’ ikittennow what I mean. I’m not entirely sure how this game works as in, do I get 1 set so I am strong enough to work towards the next set? If so, how do I know which dungeons and/or sets to start on and which ones to work towards.
I know that there is a bit of info on the net but, my searches usually turn up what the set looks like or the stats for the sets, not actual help on what build I use and what I should work for. The game is pretty costly with gold and it is a lengthy process to obtain so while I don’t want to have a ‘playguide’ I certainly don’t want to farm for weeks and then purchase the wrong thing.
Thanks for your reply mate
Yeh, I went weaponsmith/chef so I’m working on my weapon;s atm but, I’m thinking gear is going to cost a LOT of gold, something that is rare to come by
Hey guys. So I got to level 80 and have been smashing along in Orr on the quest for gear. I’m wondering what I should go for? I use GS and A/A and typically use Power, precision and crit damage as my stats. Love big numbers.
I was looking at the karma exotic vendors and noticed that while some had power and precision, there was no crit damage, just a heap of toughness, vit, healing power etc, the stuff I don’t really want. So I’m wondering the importance of these stats. Do I need them? If so, what do I sacrifice for them?
Also, on dungeons. I ran CM once and well, we all didn’t know the mechanics and while we finished it, it was rather costly. Do I need to run them all or just go for one that I like for gear. I noticed CoE had power, precision and crit damage so, should I just farm for that and forget the rest?
I appreciate any responses!
Cheers all
Heya. I have a few questions regarding warrior in pvp. I started a thief first off and played some battlegrounds and seemed to do really well. I decided to roll a warrior and I really love the class. Definitely my favourite and main. The problem is, when I tried doing pvp I got absolutely stomped by everyone. I’m not a bad player but, as for guild wars 2 pvp I am still learning. Apart from that, Thief seemed so easy compared to warrior.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me weapons of choice and signets to use? I have been using axe/axe and great sword mainly because I have been leveling with them. I do know that they are not the best choice but, I am unsure of anything else. Was wondering about sword/sword? I seem to have focused on power, precision and crit damage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Unsure if it has been posted before but, I think an option to preview armour/weapons on the trading house would be great. Especially for transmog ideas. Thanks
Well, I was tracking this achievement. I was on 78k exp and tracked it all the way to 97,771 and it just froze there, no deaths Hoping for a fix cause I would of gone way over however, since ‘going over’ I have died. Still states 97,771.
