Mega Boss loot changes

This is beyond stupid. Players saw this coming a mile away, do you people really think you’ve done anything to solve the problems that precipitated the original chest loot changes?

Think again. The changes to the boss chest were dumb, but these subsequent changes do not by any means “fix” the problem with population density. It simply means that people either farm dungeons or just play less, neither of which should be acceptable to ANet.

well, you can open only a chest for the same event in a day, so it’s useless to kill tequatl twice. once the popular one are done, you’ll see the less popular done. or maybe people will actually do something else.

“One Chest per Boss per Toon per Day.” I and others actually are driven to farm the same bosses more than ever before before because we have alts. Anyone with multiple characters level 68 or above has a very strong incentive to do so.

Adjustable Hair Ornament Colour

You can change ornament color with the hairkits, although it is a bit dumb. Only way to be able to do it whenever is with a permanent kit.

Yeah, but it’s totally unintuitive. I need a hair kit just to change the color of my bandanna or hair ribbons?! Ornaments are more like clothing or armor, which CAN be dyed at will.

It’s such an easy fix, yet I don’t get why it hasn’t been done by now.

Rewards for all with playtime effort please

No. The rewards from dailies are directly proportionate to the amount of time you play the game. If you do not play the game as much, you still get the rewards as dailies do not reset with the server; simply keep at it until you do.

Everyone has an opportunity to do anything in the game, be it Legendaries or Jumping Puzzles or whatnot. But you won’t be able to take advantage of those opportunities if you don’t play the game.

We just got more hair styles and hair colours in the latest patch, which is good. But there’s a problem with the Hair Ornament colour; it’s fixed at character creation.

Unlike Hair, Hair Ornament colour should be adjustable like armour. In fact, why not link Hair Ornament colour with the current Head Armour colour? Seems like a simple fix, no?

In the future, I expect there to be more hairstyles made available and doubtless some of them will feature hair ornaments. Knowing that their ornament colour can be adjusted as desired might increase their popularity.

Daily for Miscellaneous Activities.

Greetings,

ANet seems to want to encourage players to participate in non-combat world activities like Jumping Puzzles and Keg Brawl, even to the point where future similar content is planned like Shooting Range and Polymock.

However, rollling them into the PVE Daily achievement is not sufficient incentive to participate in these events when you calculate the difficulty of completing alternate Daily Achievements. Simply put, it’s easier to ignore them and go for the other Achievements.

So, I suggest that non-open world PVE content be given its own Daily Achievement. Such events would be Jumping Puzzles (some of the harder ones might award more points) and Keg Brawl (team events should also award more points). Crafting might also be a suitable candidate for this category. Vistas, whether unlocking them for the first time or revisiting old ones, might also fit here as well.

I never thought i’d have to mention this, but the latest patch notes impel me to state the obvious.

People camp certain Bosses due to three factors:

1: Accessibility – How close can I get to the Event site by Waypoint? Having to run halfway across a mob-infested zone to engage (or re-engage if you died) is not fun.

2: Rewards – Does the Boss drop a chest? This one is obvious: without loot rewards, doing faraway DEs is pointless because the transit costs exceed the cash rewards at 80.

3: Consistency – Can I expect to be able to be there when the Boss appears? No one likes to camp a boss for the duration of the spawn window only to not have it appear. Again, wasted transit costs can add up.

Dragons and The Maw have always been vastly popular because they meet all 3 criteria. Those that meet 2 of these criteria are done infrequently unless you are part of an organized group, while those that meet only 1 are rarely done at all.

If ANet truly wishes “to encourage players to fight multiple bosses and spread out across the world”, then need to revamp the other major zone Bosses to meet the above 3 criteria.

P.S.: Zone Bosses need to announce themselves Zone-wide. No one enjoys being stuck waiting for a Boss to appear, knowing that if they leave the area, they may miss out. That considerate players announce them on Zone Chat is a band-aid to a glaring deficiency.

If players were confident that wherever they were in a zone they would know when a Boss event appears, then they would be more likely to do various DEs throughout the Zone.

Thanks for the reports, everyone! This is an issue we’ve been tracking for a while now, and I’ve heard we may have a fix for it in the next few days. If you continue seeing it, please let us know.

I’m letting you know.

Can't get into the game

I got into Maguuma server after the patch, but Orr kept crashing (particularly Straits) and I kept getting d/ced every time I tried to get back into those zones. After the last rebuild and server reset I am unable to even get the load screen – GW2 client simply will not load.

Task Manager doesn’t even show the process running at all.

Fixing RNG and empty zones problems

There are two ways to look at this problem.

1: Generic guaranteed rewards. We want to ensure that people get something, but don’t care how they get those rewards. The simple solution is to expand the means by which Karma can be spent. Of course, Karma gains from DEs needs to scale better with player level as well.

2: Specific guaranteed rewards. We want to ensure that people get something, but in a specific manner. Dungeon tokens exist so as to allow access to specific rewards. This might be expandable to things like Zone Bosses. Killing the Shatterer may provide tokens that players may collect to buy unique items, a way of providing a “souvenir” to players.

In both cases, crafting should also not be neglected. Recipes are all nice and well, but making tokens or Karma purchase account bound materials for specific items should also be further expanded (e.g. Sun Beads) .

You are correct, there is a way to assign a hotkey to swap armor and clothing. However, it is better to have an option to have it done automatically when entering and exiting cities. This makes managing clothing much easier and thus makes people more inclined to care about the clothing feature.

Having said that, Town Clothes seriously need an Options feature to toggle auto-swapping Armor and Clothing when entering and leaving cities and other non-combat zones. Some have argued implementing complete a wardrobe feature to manage multiple outfits but that may be asking too much.

Uh…I think there is a toggle feature already. Check in the options (F11) and look though the list that holds the keys for movements/ interface in the game (you know, where you assign a key to dodge for example). The town clothes swap option is there, you can assign a key to it. I’ve assigned the ‘C’ key to mine

Funny, if I was an RPer, i’d argue the exact opposite of what you proposed. Your proposed feature exists in asian MMOs and I suspect that the Town Clothing feature was implemented as something like a compromise in the face of complaints that fighting in a bunny suit was considered “immersion-breaking”.

It also might explain why players may not fight while under the effects of a Tonic.

How about this as a compromise? Have Dye packs purchased via Gem Store to be Account wide but make in game obtainable dyes to be per character only. Give them a special designation to set them apart from other Dye Packs.

Of course, that would mean making a distinction between the two in the TP. Still, it doesn’t sound too bad. If players really don’t like the current dye system, they can choose to opt out via the Gem Store without disrupting the in game dye market. ANet gets more $, everyone is happy.

Link Hair Ornament colour to head gear colour palette. It should not be fixed at character creation.

More detailed combat log with option to download log as text file for theorycrafting parsing.

Have Option Menu have toggle for auto-remove of UI for screenshots.

Necromancer Death Shroud UI (and to a much lesser extent, Downed State) needs to show active buffs and debuffs.

Friendly Support AoE fields need green borders to differentiate from friendly damage fields (white border) and enemy fields (red border).

Non-standard buffs and debuffs (e.g. Venoms, Banners) need timer borders like standard buffs/debuffs currently do.

Interrupt/Stun icon on target needs more visibility – a more solid icon background?

Adjustable Particle Effects option for other players’ spell effects – melee need this.

Town Clothing toggle option when in City Zones or have keybinding option available.
