I was able to repeat the bug in which I could not activate my glider. I still don’t know what caused it. It happened on the second attack where gliding is necessary.
I honestly didn’t know what section to put this in. I’m at Hearts and Minds with a Daredevil character (Staff + S/P). I noticed that about 3/4ths of the way through the fight with boss 2The Blighted Pale Tree my Vault (Staff 5) and all hits after the first with Pistol Whip (S/P 3) stopped doing damage to the boss. Is this a mechanic or a bug?
I also noticed that when I defeated the boss, it screamed somethingDream no more! and regenerated health. I figure that this is meant to happen at least once, but it happened 3 times in a row for me. I thought it even happened when the boss had no stacks of Power. I’m going to try and replicate that last part.
Also, I know this isn’t a bug, but ANet: Put a repair station next to the retry mote. Seriously.
Edit: Replicated the Vault/Pistol Whip bug. Happens directly after the second invulnerability state/summoning phase. Also found that Bound also did no damage when the other two stopped doing damage.

This does help. I want to experiment with a Sword/Pistol Daredevil with the leap finisher dodge now. The stealth may not hit as hard as dagger, but it’s a good way of proccing Revealed Training and gives more control. From what I’ve seen of HoT PvE so far… control may be the only way to survive sometimes. (I’m looking at you, Mordrem Snipers.)
I’ve worked with a self-healing build before on thief (it’s actually my casual build), so I know that synergy with Pistol Whip… I just plain forgot about it. Been on my warrior too long, I guess. Good catch!
I started my thief a long time ago with the idea of making him a sword thief. I was modeling him off of a character I made in a D&D session who sort of stumbled into that build face first. I only do PvE, so I did my research on DnT’s site and played around with build calculators for a while only to hit brick wall after brick wall. Dagger just does far more damage no matter how you slice it. I get that sword cleaves, but now that Staff is in the mix, the datamining seems to indicate that Staff will take its place on trash mobs with far more control and comparable, if not better, damage. So… what’s the sword FOR in PvE? Is a sword thief just a bad idea outside of PvP/WvW now? I’m honestly confused here.

I’m attempting to get the Charged Lodestones together for Infinite Light for my Thief (it’s an RP thing, don’t ask why a thief would want something that glows brightly in the dark). I’m farming pretty well on my Thief, but I feel like I could do better. What are the classes/builds that are known for their farming power? Sparks and Air Elementals do very little damage, no conditions or cc, and have fairly low health (though the Air Elementals are vets). I think what I need is high burst and high mobility. You guys probably know more about farming them than I do, though.
