Between full Rampager and full Rabid which do you think would be better for WvWvW?
Try Sigil of Fire, with Staff hitting multiple targets and a decent crit chance you’ll be triggering Fire Blast every time internal cd is over.
Been lurking around the forums and so I can see that this sthread is still active, I updated my previous builds and here’s my new stats. Without the buffs.
This one follows the basic AH trait and my set combination. I hope it helps.

I have to say I really am a Soldier fan and I depend mostly on raw damage. Here’s my unbuffed Guardian.
@Lalangamena- Good points sir and thanks for the suggestions, you were correct that its like a build that tries to do it all. I like to dps support and tank at the same time and keep being busy inside dungeons or fractals. I run on 2 kind of sets, my stats stacker set and my alternate boon/might set which pretty much stacks might on the team with 55% might duratin unbuffed with food.
Why the 5 in Valor? I just feel that Valorous defense-Activates when your health drops from above 50% to below 50%, is just too good to pass on even if I don’t like the Honor Trait line.
Radiance Traits have been oftenly ignored but with proper gearing it might be of really good use, Radiant Power-Damage is increased by 10% against foes inflicted with conditions, works wonders in sync with a spammable Justice and Right-hand strength.
As for the Two-hand Mastery I just have the feeling that on high level fractals i usually change weapons too often or stick to scepter+focus most of the time that i feel that the might buff is much useful on fights.
Here are my current stats(unbuffed) on this traits and I feel that somehow it works.

Been experementing with this build and found it to be quite reliable, hope you guys can leave suggestions for improvement.
Unless you wanna play support with a staff don’t use the Giver’s set. Like what Christos said the 1% boon duration compromise your stats and make you hit like a little girl inside a dungeon. I used to play the 101% boon duration set with the Giver’s it’s good but definitely not for tanking purposes.

Try this build. With +20% boon duration you’ll be stacking on Might more effectively when you spam F1, another thing is Absolute Resolution which is really helpful when you have tons of condition on you. I remember reading about keeping 5 on Valor for the life saving Aegis when u hit 50% avoiding an unexpected one shot death.
How do you survive in condition heavy dungeons?
its always safe to use Toughness/Power/Vitality the ones you’ll get from HotW and AC.
Running pure boon guardian is interesting but it’s not that good, it’ll compromise relevant stats you’ll be needing for the duration of the game. I have tested running a 101% boonduration guardian and successfully use it on fractals but i notice that the damage output and the survivability dropped a lot from my previous builds. I must say running at 70% boon duration would be enough and thats all what the team needs.
As for the gears since you already have a 20% boon duration you can maximize it by using 2 monks, 2 water and 2 Earth. With this runes you’ll have an additional 30% boonduration and with Chocolate Omnomberry Cream you’ll have another 20% boon duration making it to a total of 70% boon duration.
I must say it’s not a bad build, though I have to agree that the focus of the build must be clear. I run almost the same traits but I use Pure Voice on the grandmaster. I never come short of healing and timing your cd’s properly will alllow you to survive and support your group. I use focus instead of shield to not nullify the GS 5 ability of pulling the mobs for the team to aoe. If you happen to play a PUG with another guardian you can change Hold the Line for Signet of Judgement for a bonus retaliation. Neverthless this is how i will run your build.

I’m currently running this on fractals. Alternating mace and scepter depending on situation. As for teh utility you can always change “Hold The Line” to “Wall of Reflection” or “Signet of Judgement”. As for gears I use Soldier armor from AC or HotW with 2 monks, 2 water, 2 Earth.
I play as a boon tank and not as a boon support class though, but healing is at 1.1k and I guess that’s not too bad, but I keep boons at a minimum of two for all party members due to the long durations, condition converted to boons per shout is awesome.
I’m not sure about that but at 101% I am prestty much expecting it to be doubled. Anyhow its still good, like having perma retaliation and regen on GS, Mace/focus.
I think it has a cap at 90% im running theexact build Kami posted and my “Save Yourselves” is at 19s wherein it should’ve been at 20s
Learn, be informed through guides, complaining brings you nothing. I would never run with the OP, neither with his alts for reasons he popped here. People who wants a low level run should look for a low level group and not leech the high level groups nor complain that guys are looking for 80’s only groups. If you are really new, then like the rest of those who made it to 80, learn how to run the dungeon effectively by joining lower level guys as well.

I see, so what’s the point showing this build if people can’t put their opion on this one? As you earlier said its done by you and for you, but when you post it we can see it and we can put our suggestions on anyway we can. It’s a good build just that I have a feeling that it could be better on my opinion, and feel free to answer or just whisper me for reasons like this. If its an exclusive post, I would move to close the thread and let no one answer or suggest anymore.
I understand that you like MI but it is currently one of our worst utilities. Nothing like being blinked to a friendly turret or full health NPC even though you’re standing right next to a low health player.
I’m not sure what you want out of this thread if you’re pretty much unwilling to accept advice about your build. There’s already a sticky for simply posting builds.
I second this post, for the unwillingness to take criticisms. As a fellow guardian I am looking at the build and see it not as a pure defender but an in between type of defender to consider that the staff bearers role and majority of skills for a defender is already questionable. Build is pretty good, playable and for new guardians it would be an advisable base build, it has the utility to survive and support.
Adding a meter would definitely have its respective pros and cons, but what I can’t understand is the rejection of having such. Discrimination as a con can be a tool to increase ones productivity in order to become a better player and guaging your individual progress for me is definitely a plus to the players and to the game. It saddens me to know that Anet doesnt seem to see it that way, but hopefully an alternative of such kind or something close to it would be implemented, or perhaps a 3 degree of dungeon difficulty if a meter can’t be granted.
I am not in an arguement to convince everyone to like the idea, recount is a tool to measure output and not solely to base the overall gameplay of each player, I know lot of people are afraid of having this tool in the game, but for me if you know how to play your class and you know that you would play productively then there is no need to be afraid of it. And frankly WoW did have a better success pulling this kind of players. I like this game but the content aside from achievements, titles and scores doesn’t appeal to me anymore. The game can be better, and since this is a suggestion section I just happen to put iy up here. You are correct as well on the context that the game has a different approach on dungeon runs but wouldnt it be better if you will run with better players?
If you would like to compare it to WoW just by the discussion of having a recount then probably it shows how successful wow is with that add on for it to be totally related to it. My point is to atleast help the community sort the kind of play they want, and it will promote the title itself a Guild War, thus thos move might lead to guilds running guild runs to enhance their guildmates skills. But what do I know maybe this is just how this game is played all mixed together, then I don’t want to start an arguement and I’ll start to do the same thing on each dungeon without an aim but just the tokens when it ended.
Certainly I know it would not be for everyone but atleast for a few who are concern of a level kind of play wouldn’t you like to have one? just today i have been busting my every moves in a dungeon when i notice a ranger doing just a single attack the whole time, which is auto-attack skill 1. Would yo like this kind of thing to continue for the rest of the game?
Ever been to a dungeon where u play hard as ever to finish a dungeon efficiently just to see a random player who joined your party and simply press autoattack the rest of the fight? How I wish this game would make a meter to see dps, heals, etc. to measure workrate of players.
It is not to exclude but to classify. This is to encourage the level of competition and of play itself. Others who cannot cope can group up together or ask their guild to assist them on runs. But there will always be people who are very competitive like me, who wanted a playing feild that we rightfully deserve together with those competitive players.
Is there nobody in this game concern about the progress of a player? It’s not always about achievements, titles and leveled toons. With this kind of meter we can help the community progress by becoming a better player the next time we enter dungeons.
I would like to suggest having an in-game add-on that can show the work rate of each player in a party. In terms like dps, damage absorbed, heals and deaths. This way we can avoid being partied to players who simply press the (1) auto attack the whole fight, we can also classify players who try to work better on dungeon to those who simply sit and leech. In the long run this will encourage players to be more productive specially on dungeon parties.
