Speaking from Brazil here.
It has been a few days to maybe over a week that I started noticing the latency to be erratic.
I would generally play with an average of 160ms, but lately it has been all over the place, from 160 to 2.5k ms.
Just now I have made a speed test and found that my connection is solid. All streaming services are working fine. All of this while gw2 is sitting at character select on the background.
Latency to 64.25.40.117 (character select server) is varying from 200 to 480ms with nothing else on the background.
Playing from a country with sub standards network quality, I grew accustomed to varying latency from time to time, but with gw2 it has been consistent. Every single day, and every single time I play I see this happening.
I won’t jump boat anytime soon, but one thing that can really make me give up on an online game is kitten latency.
Hope network team sees this.
I was browsing the forums earlier today and I found a few people with problems to connect when in Diessa Plateau.
I am currently experiencing the same issue, and all characters at Lions Arch can’t connect.
So I’ll go ahead and say it’s a particular server problem, this time with Lions Arch.
I currently have 3 characters there. None can login.
Just finished, went in with a party. Everything worked fine.

According to patch notes, the bug is fixed with today’s patch.
Guys, try it and leave your feedback please.

Daily activites:
- Run HotW for a chance on jewel recipes;
- DT for geodes and crystals;
- Finish pvp daily quests;
- Come here to check if the quest bug has been fixed.
Been doing great on 3 of those for the past 2 weeks.
I have come upon this problem on tuesday after patch.
Don’t know if it was there before, but currently I am unable to finish the LS on my alt, and start season 2 for the carapace armor rewards I need to finish my luminescent set.
This is very frustrating.
I have not seen any comment from ANet on this so far.
ANet: we know you guys are busy, but this is a character progression issue. It should have priority on the bug squashing list.
