While this bug still seems to be going on there is a way around the bug. If you match the pattern on the face and it is not lighting the torch then place a tear on each button and then when all the buttons have a tear on them remove the tears that are on the buttons not shown on the face, at least it worked for me. Displaced Spirits are all either floating up in trees, making them unspeakable to; or standing next to their ‘bodies’ not responding to text prompt.
There is also a Cub broken away from the rest of the group with a Event Shield over his head. Sever minutes of watching and attempting to talk to him had no results. It is impossible to make any progress towards the renown heart, and by extension killing the entire zone and making map completion impossible.
If they are standing next to their bodies but not responding to the text prompt pull a spider over to them and have the spider hit the spirit. This should cause the spirit to engage the spider and once the spider is dead you should be able to revive the logger. Just worked for me and now there is at least one logger working on JQ. It’s sad .. 90% of the people complaining about the event do not even accually care about the event it’s all about loot … ANET gave this guy something shiney and I want it too. I did the event .. did not care if I got a reward, I just wanted to experence the event. I got a few exotics nothing special and the guy beside me got a precursor. Do you know what I was compelled to do? I congratulated him. I said wow dude grats. I did not feel compelled to complain that I got maybe 2 or 3g worth of drops while he got 100s … I was just happy that ANET does these special epic events to introduce new FREE content to us. I don’t know maybe it’s just me but I had a ton of fun (even which all the lag) and that’s what really mattered. I’m sorry for the 10% of people who accually wanted to do the event that could not, but not for the people who are complaining about loot.
ANET doesn’t have to do these onetime events … they don’t even have to give us brand new content every month … they are trying to make the game interesting and and make the world feel live. Is it fair that not everyone in the world can make these events? No, but life isn’t fair. It’s just a game. Please stop complaining and just grow up. No I can not make EVERY event. I have a job, wife, and 2 year old daughter. If I miss an event so what. Asking ANET to stop all onetime events cause you can’t make it is completely selfish. Yes, SOME people got precursors from the event then again SOME people got precursors the first time the dropped a few exotics into the mystic forge, it happens.
I’m going to be out of town most of the week. I’ll be returning on the 30th. I see that the event is being released in acts and was wondering how that works … say like when act 2 becomes active will act 1 become completely inaccessible or will I still be able to experience act 1 and 2? Basically I’m just wondering if I will be able to make up for the stuff I miss (25th-29th) on the 30th and the 31st.
