Also waiting on a name. To add to the “good points” with what I hope is another, I’m sure a lot of us would be happy to make a character with an original name once we know for a fact the name we really want has been reserved or taken for good, at which point we sigh and use something else. Having to constantly check whether the name is available or not with no ETA is a very un-fun tease. :p “Yes” or “no” is better than “maybe; keep checking”.

For you, maybe. Not for this guy. I was actually about to commend him for owning up to how it probably happened instead of raging on ArenaNet like everyone else has been. Server first. :p

Now, I’m open to the possibility ArenaNet is flagging false positives for some reason … I mean 2 million subscribers to juggle after three weeks, probably at least a few mistakes being made …

But if you really are getting hacked that easily, that’s GG Saywaat, not GG ArenaNet.

In most games you’re lucky if you even get that. In Team Fortress 2 you get hats, in League of Legends you get skins (if you cough up money), and half the reason people raid in WoW is so they can stand by the Ironforge mailbox and “look pretty”.

I haven’t done much sPvP but I imagine the incentive is the challenge and the fun. YMMV.

Would like to know this as well; I keep checking a name and it keeps giving me the “reserved GW1 name” message, which I assume means the character hasn’t been made yet. Looking forward to snagging it if the game would just let me. Rough ETA? A week? A month?
