I’m experiencing a similar issue, except for my computer restarting by itself after a while. I’m happy to see other complaints about it. Maybe changes are possible.
Since today’s (19th January) update, I can’t use my asura revenant anymore. She is in the Black Citadel where she watched the Gladium vista. I’ve had crash issues before, they are happening because of graphic problems I don’t know much about, but since the newest driver available is from 2012, it’s no wonder. The problem is this: black screen, a few seconds later the sound stops working correctly, then my computer restarts. I managed to reduce that by changing the graphics settings and avoiding to move certain characters to certain areas. However, right now it seems that I am unable to get my revenant back working because I need at least two seconds to tp her away, but since after half a second the crashes occur and it happens every time I try, she is stuck in the Black Citadel.
What do I do? (“Get a new computer” is not a good tip btw.) Would it be ridiculous to send a support ticket asking to get my character out of there?
I have black screen issues, connected to system crashes that only occur when playing GW2. I tried repairing the client, but it didn’t help, so at the moment, I’m waiting for any fixes or good advice. Let’s shout a bit more loudly so that the anet krewe can hear that there are problems.
Interesting, so I don’t seem to be the only one experiencing crashes. In my case, I get a black screen and the whole operating system (Win 7) crashes which occurs any place, I haven’t found out much about it but had to reinstall Windows once. The only advice I got so far were “are your drivers up to date?” (yes, they are) and “repair your client + how to do it” (did it several times, doesn’t help). The system only crashes when playing GW2. But getting to know that other people are having trouble, there might be hope that somebody does something about the crash issues.
