Yeah its in the slot closest to the CPU…I don’t think it would fit in another one since my board is smaller.
I just tried to reseat it and there wasn’t a difference. I tried opening Battlefield 4 with it and I get 60 fps maxed out and GPU-Z still only reads as x1. Is there another option to fix this?
Here’s some specs
i5-6600k at 4.1
PowerColor R9 390
G.Skill DDR4
With everything on the lowest visual settings I get about 20-25 fps outside of cities and 10 fps by LA. Here’s a screen shot of GPU-Z and CPU-Z with the game in the background…
Any advice would be appreciated!
Here’s an update. I downloaded Battlefield 4 to try out and see if my system worked on it and I’m running the game on ultra settings without any issues. I guess GW2 might just not be optimized with my setup currently.
I ran a few stress tests and everything has come back fine. Right now I have the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and AMD Catalyst up with GW2 in the background. My GPU usage is full tilt and my CPU dips as low as 3% and spikes at 20%. As this is the only game I play at the moment, I can’t compare it to anything else. I’m currently at 21fps in Metrica Province…
I tried this the other day and even switched out the GPU with a friends card to see if my card was defective. His card performed about the same in GW2 but in a benchmark test my card blew his out of the water. It’s in the correct slot and will run at 100% (1000mhz) in LA but will drop down to 300mhz in PvE elsewhere. This is why I’m thinking it’s the combo of Windows 10 and the new skylake processor.
I can’t seem to get anything above 25fps with high settings on all new hardware. I am running…
i5-6600k clocked at 4.0
powercolor R9 390
MSi Krait mobo
8gb Ram
My OS is currently Windows 10, might that be the issue? I upgraded to a desktop to play on instead of my laptop which actually seems to run the game better at the moment. Not a tech person so any advice would be great!
