So I’m 85% now and the .dat file size went up slightly so I guess it just passed where it was last time. Therefore anything I try now will not provide any gains, so don’t worry about posting here unless it might help someone else who runs into the same issue.

FYI I have the .dat .exe and .tmp file all in the GW2 directory. The file is not changing size at the moment, but it is in use because I can’t copy the file right now while it’s re-downloading… Seems weird.

Btw my .dat file is 15.2GB in size.

Hope this helps. In the meantime I’m going to let the DL keep going – I’m 5% with 238k files remaining so it’s definitely the full game re-downloading, but I don’t know where to because I can’t find another .dat file on my computer with a different size.

Thanks again

Welp, I’m in the same situation. Downloaded 15GB last night and in the middle of the night the power cut out. This morning I restarted the launcher and it did a “checking archive” but in the background had already restarted from scratch anyways so the check did nothing… According to this post from tech support, this is what happens when the downloaded is interrupted in this way:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/While-patching-had-a-blackout

That’s a HUGE fail! I’m on DSL (no choice) and my download speeds are 300-350 kb/s so this is a massive waste of time for me and needless to say I’m pretty frustrated that there isn’t a feature which avoids this.

That’s 15GB of my (limited) bandwidth wasted not to mention it will be downloading all day again and make my internet unusable while doing so (roughly the next 23 hrs)… Kewl!

If I’m doing something wrong and this can be avoided, I would really appreciate any tips.

Thank you!
