That’s ok, so long as you sign the petition to stop passive play, an entire clusterkitten of particle effects and petting zoos.

I’ll sign it for passive play. Unfortunately I’ll have to stay away from the petition stopping clusterkitten particle effects & petting zoos.

Profession(s) with great outplay potential?

I had originally had a mesmer, but it was a bit rough to level, maybe I’ll give it another shot. Not having CD’s for my thief though feels awkward, compared to every other class it feels good, and feels weird at the same time.

Dota 2 is actually officially out of beta.

Just in case you were wondering…

Thanks, I didn’t expect it to be out of beta since they were still bringing in the rest of the heroes into the game. Besides, nothing wrong with it remaining in beta, since balances and newer heroes would still need to be rigorously tested.

But I am disappointed that you could only say that out of everything else that I said. Please, stick to the topic, thanks.

I’m new to gw2, your topic was interesting, and its morning for me.

Perhaps I missed it, but what classes in there have the potential to as I mentioned, outplay.

Some people aren’t familiar with what outplay means, which is completely fine. I had an idea when I first heard it, but wasn’t 100% sure.

Outplay basically means you’re able to manipulate your opponents mind by your characters playstyle. Maybe you’re going to teleport somewhere they think because it would be obvious? No, you teleport the other direction they wouldn’t had expected because its to crazy to do.

Or maybe you fight 1v3 you may not even be full health and all 3 enemies may be near it. You throw a few abilities out, 1 is dead, the second might be close. Combo 2, mix it up make them guess. 2 is dead, 3 is running for his life, combo him. You just 1v3’ed successfully because you knew their class and you knew yours and you knew exactly how to turn the tides.

While all in all I suppose my question could be answered with any class, as I said there are characters in dota/LoL & classes in WoW which have stronger outplay potential because they can perform combos, can survive fights, perhaps have a mechanic that can make your opponents guess why they just died, not because of sheer numbers, but because they died in an odd fashion they wouldn’t had guessed.

All in all, outplay is usually just manipulating the players mind, but a little added effort from the right profession I’m sure would help, which is exactly what I’m looking for.

In PvP games I love to play a character or class where I can turn the tides with a combo, or a strategy or something extraordinary. Common references of these are dota 2, LoL, and sometimes even WoW pvp.

Given that I don’t enjoy this games PvE or I probably won’t I’m sure, I’m trying to aim at s-pvp and maybe a little WvW as I don’t have a big group of people to play with.

I’m pretty new to gw2. I’ve owned it since july of last year thanks to a friend, but I never fully got into it and I believe its because I could never like a class that I truly thought I wouldn’t have an enjoyable end-game experience or in pvp.

Necromancer leveling build

So I just picked up a necromancer, so far having a blast with it over my guardian & almost my elementalist

I’m having a hard time finding a necromancer leveling build. Some of the youtube videos I watch seem hard to understand for me, reason being is I’m an extreme noob to guild wars 2. My highest level was my 14 ele if that puts it in perspective.

Any help is appreciated.

So far right now I’m running with bone fiend & and blood fiend with dagger/warhorn.

I know its really early in the game for me, but any preperation in order to get the best performance while leveling is appreciated.

For pure leveling I plan to just go zone by zone with story quests when available, I may do some PvP or WvW at some points, but I’m not a huge PvPer yet.

Thank you in advance.

I see, alright well I guess I get the feeling that ele’s are strong, but require an extensive amount of work and as someone noted I am a bit of a ‘casual’ in gw2 at the moment so I will hold off on the ele for a little bit until they get a little more love.

I have plans on participating in WvW season 1 if not more, will that really affect anything, or is WvW really not a factor since its not exactly “spvp.”

From what I’m reading they’re not exactly in the best position, but overall can we expect some buffs to them?

When I played one awhile ago it was pretty fun as dagger/dagger. Granted I only got to level 14 and I didn’t do much, but do the outside world stuff like completing hearts & events. I did feel like I was somewhat useful in WvW though.

From what I’m reading now though they lack a good support of life and damage. Both critical.

I am just now getting into guild wars 2 after having it for 3 months now and I’d like to pick up a main, but at this point I’m not sure really whats a good choice.

Elementalist, Guardian, or necromancer. From ele’s point of view, and hopefully non-biased, what do you think is a good choice based on viability. Those 3 classes are ones I enjoy alot.

Guardian leveling build?

I’m pretty new to guild wars 2 in general, I still have ALOT of learning to do, but my highest was a 14 ranger.

I’m just looking for a guardian build good at just leveling in the open world. No pvp what so ever.

Any tips are appreciated as well.

New player, few questions

So my friend purchased this game for me recently (He’s awesome <3)

I used to play on his alt account every once in awhile so I knew some things. I played melee elementalist & warrior alot.

I toyed with a few professions from 1 to about 3-4 today. I liked alot of their mechanics, but I need to settle on just one.

Normally in most MMO’s I start with something similar to a ranger. I am a micro manager person at heart (shadow priest/resto druid in wow, mage/cleric rift), so this seemed like a good start.

I love to do just about everything in guild wars 2. Mostly I’ve spent my time doing the little golden heart things, exploring, and occasionally WvW. Although I’m not sure how the meta works in WvW or even in dungeons yet I’m sure I’ll learn. Normally I’m a healer in other MMO’s as its something I’ve been doing for almost 8 years now (still currently in rift). I was saddened to find out guild wars 2 doesn’t have such thing. I think the closest I’ve gotten was engineer & water elementalist.

But my first 2 questions

1) I hear ranger is pretty weak overall, but then theres few that are true to it saying they’re strong if played right. Is this not true for every profession? As in every mmo? Although there is always going to be that one bit of extra strength another class has.

2) Is it possible for someone to make a brief outline of what classes have what kind of playstyles (kudos to anyone who can relate it as close as possible to rift/wow specs/classes). This would help me get an understanding of where to start & go from there.

I may have more so if your a person who likes to answer these feel free to watch this thread

Thanks in advance =)
