Native Linux Support

Hey there,

I am an happy Linux Player and I already play Guild Wars 2 on Linux through the use of Wine. That being said, I have seen that a new native client is coming for Mac Users and I was wondering if a Linux/SteamOS client might also come, as technically it is easier to support Linux once you have an openGL renderer(which I guess you have for MacOS). Playing Gw2 on top of Wine, while it “works” is not butter smooth either, performance is sub par compared to windows, some glitches happen here and there, and random crashes are not so rare either when in a place with many players(WvW zerg expecially). As such, a Linux native client would be a very nice upgrade for Linux players in general and would be fairly welcome. If no port is coming, would it at least be possible for the windows client to have access to the openGL renderer too so that we may use it on wine(openGL to openGL translation is much better than dx9 to openGL)?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post,
Yours sincerely,

Not sure if you are interested in that feedback, but on linux side, 64 bit client(on wine of course) is like a breeze. It fixes pretty much every bug I had in 32bit version. No disconnect anymore, and perf is much more stable too, almost no frame drop. I’ve been testing for a few weeks.
I am using archlinux x86_64 with latest wine-staging
CPU is core i7 2600k and GPU is Gibabyte Nvidia gtx 770 OC. Driver/kernel and all the rest are latest.
So I guess you could pretty much make Linux/Wine support official(deliver the client bundled with wine or something^^)
