Here’s my thief. For my heavies I couldn’t not use human t3, but it was trickier to find a good medium set.
I honestly don’t mind the damage nerf in PvE, it didn’t solve anything but it didn’t really ruin anything. In WvW, especially roaming situations this shifted the power balance between Power & Condition builds even more in the favor of condition damage.
I’m actually not sure why Anet thought it was a good idea to carry this change into WvW, the one part of the game I & my pals are interested in. It’s pretty disappointing that so little thought seems to have been given to this though, as it basically invalidates all of my characters. I’ve tested condition builds before but the fire-and-forget style of playing is incredibly boring, as well as the lack of risk when the gear that gives the optimal condition damage (Dire) is also a full suit of tank gear. The high risk & high reward of roaming in zerker gear has been destroyed. Now there’s basically a high risk and mediocre reward opposed to running a condition build that has low risk and high reward.
I run full zerker/scholar runes on a roaming warrior, and my crits seem to be hitting for 20-30% less more, I’m not running traits for maximum dps so this loss is pretty devastating for killing other players. I could care less in PvE, and from what I’m seeing I’d rather go play PvP in TESO than play condition bunker in WvW.
they effectively killed my thief with this nerf patch.. to much of a dmg reduction just made my berserker thief totally useless and an year of work making that char went down the drain…
ty arena net for making me do the unthinkable and deleting your game as of nowfacerolling thieves are leaving the game.. wow, this patch is doing wonders already
non-sarcasmyour character is a lot less broken now.
iknow righ?
If full-zerker thieves face-roll you then I assure you they are not the problem. Glass-cannon thieves that don’t know what they’re doing are basically fodder unless you are also terrible.
it’s convenient they released the wardrobe at the same time as the crit dmg nerf. I can put my current skins on condition gear now.
This is basically what I was thinking.
I just went to Orr and started whacking stuff.
I seemed to be doing around the same damage as always, and I have full zerk w/ Scholar runes.
I roam in full zerker and scholar runes, and I just went to EBG to check out my damage… it’s definitely a noticeable and pretty severe damage cut. For PVE this changes nothing but especially for WvW this just makes soldier gear zergs and condi bunker roamers all the more effective. The entire WvW meta has been catering to tanky zergs for a while, but this pushes roaming into the same boat.

I’ve been roaming on my warrior using full Zerker + defensive traits to create a hybrid build, and it’s been working pretty nicely for me. If my damage drops much though, it’s going to probably be worthless to run my build over a condition build (I was thinking sword/sword as well, with a longbow swap, until I heard the bit about a pin down cast time increase… it’s already pretty easy to dodge). I’m already sacrificing defensive stats that condition builds can keep and still do full condition damage… the power of dire gear far surpasses that of soldier. I don’t really care about this for PVE, but for WvW this is pretty depressing.
(Warriors should be Balanced like the Lion; as King of the Jungle—Balanced as King of the Classes)-
I agree that Warriors are way OP and i understand that this class need immediate Balance.
Even myself i find this totally Ridiculous; how can a heavy armor class have Extreme Mobilities and Extreme Resistance to everything and barely can die?
Where do you ever hear a Lion (King of the Jungle), being Immune to Everything, being Extreme Powerful (OP) and having Extreme Mobilities?
How Ludicrous would it be if a Lion had mobilities Ike a cheetah?
How Ludicrous would it be if a Lion had immunity to every disease/conditions like a shark?
How Ludicrous would it be if a Lion were Invulnerable to even death …like a Tardigrades
How Ludicrous would it be if a Lion was Immortal like a God?
Whoever or Whomever created and designed the Lion, did a Great Job! in Balancing them . Especially abiding by the Nature of Balance which ask and demand that; to Balance, one must have weakness, strength and to NOT be GODS.
Here in Guild Wars 2. Arena.net “Balance” is having Eternal Life, having God Like Powers, having Everlasting Abundance and being Immortal as a GOD.
What a Total Insult and Disgrace to The Nature of Balance
(ELementalists and Mesermers; you two need to be Balanced…as for Thieves and Rangers- you two need an immediate complete Redesign)
This made my day.
