Linking the lower servers together would have been WAY better idea. Lower population servers played the same way. Same play styles.
And to these people who say WvW is all about zergs. No disrespect to their zerg fights… but I’ve in all this time not seen real good zerg fighting. Its over in a flash… the bigger numbers stomp through the smaller numbers. They might try twice tops. Then they stop and get back to farming and taking back towers. It’s rare I see a good zerg fight where its pretty evenly matched and you keep going back into the fray to fight for that keep. I’ve saw more zerg on zerg battles on our smaller servers than the big ones. Aye the zergs may have been smaller… but our commanders did more than just one or two tries to break the other zerg.
On smaller servers I remember a hour or more to cap stonemist. The poor thing would be battered and bruised and walls down everywhere! It was a real fight for it. Does that ever happen on big tiers?
Anyhoo… I hope they will change things up and link up lower servers and/or make it permanent pairings. I’d love to have another server along side us if it means we have more WvW. Just make it a permanent!
After reading all this. I think most of the people against this topic of bringing back the servers never had an awesome community in wvw, or their servers were REALLY dead. So I can see why they are happy with it. But there are alot of people higher up that were just fine. And for me personally its a horrible loss.
But thinking on it… why do we have to be tossed around between the big servers? I think it would give us more pride if it was a set pairing… for good. That way you can get to know who ever your are paired with. It would have been better. Not great. But perhaps have the battle grounds named something else. So neither have their server names on it? Neutral and shared. But I bet you the higher tiers would HATE to loose their battle ground names?
I have no problem being paired. But it should have been done so that we feel like we got something to fight for. Even if they merged lower tiers together permanently. We’re not elite and don’t want to mingle. We just want something that feels like ours permanently and we need to fight for it.

I totally agree with this. I’m from Ferguson Crossing, and we lost our battle ground. To explain how sad this is.. isn’t even possible. I had the most fun in this game by fighting tooth and nail to win at our battle ground, because our community was small and we all knew each other it was a wonderful part of the game. We had great pride in our commanders and people all played their part.
Now we are thrown in with another server where no one talks much, there isn’t much in the way of laughter or joking around. They all just run and which ever zerg has the bigger numbers wins. But the worst part is, that you don’t feel like you belong, and you don’t because next week you might be paired with another group that you were just fighting against. It give us no sense of loyalty or pride to fight for a battleground.
We had fun as our community was small and we are friends. To win a keep took effort and even had to be a bit sneaky about things, careful with what we did with our supply and strategic about what we let go and what we attacked. And you felt really accomplished when you took a keep, because we did it together for our server.
To share with a bigger team holds not pride or drive to win. Because you are only with them until the points/rankings change. How does that even make sense? I’m pretty sure the bigger servers find us an annoyance too. A small little server taking up their wvw spaces.
Please Anet! Give us back our battle grounds. PLEASE. We loved it just the way it was.
Yes I got an automated response from them, but that was at the first time when I submitted the ticket. They just said its been received. I had since told them the problem was resolved. So not sure if they delete the ticket after that? I didn’t hear anything back from my telling them the problems resolved……Because now its happened again :-( So not sure if i have to file another ticket.
Run pingplotter, if you see the words Level3 or Telia anywhere in the middle of your route, there is a 99.9% chance that is where the problem is.
What do you do if thats the problem?
Earlier today I way-pointed to Harathi Hinterlands. My game client lost connection to the server while I was way-pointing/loading in. From that point on I couldn’t log into that character anymore. It just kept loading Harathi Hinterlands, then it would loose connection to the server again. With Error Code = 7:0:0:996:101. When I click ok it would quit out of the client and I have to log in again and try again. Other characters logged in fine. It was just that one.
So i raised a ticked, but I kept looking for solutions on my own, and someone told me to go to PvP and start a game. As soon as the game started I was to log out to character screen and select the character I couldn’t log into. This would pull her into the PvP game. It worked and I was able to go to WvW at the end of the match and take the portal to Lions Arch. All was fine from that point on. So I started to play and continue.
But now its happened again. This time I was waypointing to Cursed Shore. Same loss of connection, same error and I can’t get onto that character again. And this time the PvP trick isn’t working. It still just sits for ages on the Cursed Shore load page before loosing connection with the server and giving me the same error code as above.
I’ve been playing for a very long time. I never had problems with guildwars before. I have fiber internet and a VERY good 3d graphics creation/gaming beast of a machine. But I’ve noticed for about 3-4 weeks, that I got the odd disconnection from server… but it was at most once every other day. Today I’m having this problem.
I raised a ticket earlier about this, and let them know when the problem was fixed. But now I’m scared to raise another ticket. I don’t want to be annoying and send another ticket which will just slow things down because I didn’t hear anything back at all.
I’ve reset the router. And flushed my DNS cache. I just don’t know what to do. :-(
Thank you all

I’m sorry then. I don’t use forums often at all, I thought it would be better to use old ones instead of starting a new post about something. From the little I do know is people yell at you on forums alot if you keep posting about things that have already been discussed lol. Seems I got it wrong anyway. I apologize. :-) Fix has been found. Managed to pull my character into a pvp game I started with another character.

If you can log into pvp with another character that’s not suck on loading screens you could try this. Someone gave me the advice of going into PVP and starting a game there. Then once game starts, go out to character selection and choose your stuck character. This should (if all goes well) bring that character into pvp. You then finish your pvp game and go to WvW as soon as it ends. Do not exist the pvp match as it will put you back where you were before. From wvw you can exit though lions arch portal and go about your day again.
I’m having the same problem with this. Over the last week or so I’ve been loosing connection to server when way pointing. But its not been so bad, I was happy to live with it.
However today is bad – I had a lost of connection while waypointing – error code of 7:11:3:191:101 – and now I can no longer access that character. She’s stuck in limbo. I lose connection every time I try to log her in. All other characters log in fine. But she’s stuck somewhere.
I’ve been looking around for solutions. Someone said I could try to go to PVP and join a game then swap classes, and choose the character thats stuck in limbo. But when I joined a pvp map with a different character. I get the same Lost connection to the server with the error code of 7:11:3:191:101.
EDIT: The pvp trick worked perfectly. Went into pvp and was able to choose my stuck character and it pulled her into PVP. Then instead of leaving the match when it ended. (because it would send me back to Harathi Hinterlands which is where I was stuck) I went to WvW and now I’m freeeeee!
EDIT AGAIN: It happened again. I cant log into my character anymore because it dropped connection to the server. And this time the Pvp thing doesn’t work :-(

Thank you Inculpatus. I know its really old, but its the only one I’ve found so far that was close to my issue. Hence why I explained what happened in my case. Going to have to figure out what those Command Line Arguments are. I’m not a computer guru haha. But thank you I shall investigate and ask my friends who are better at this stuff than me.
Hi does anyone have the links to other thread of this nature please? I’m looking at trying to fix this on my own and find what workarounds people had. I’ve put in a support ticket, but I’ve seen I might have to wait a while for them to get back to me. Up to a few days even. My client lost connection while I was waypointing to Shieldbluff Point in Herathi Hinterlands. Now I can’t log that character anymore. It just hangs on the login screen for Herathi Hinterlands and eventually loses connection with the server and restarts the client again. Sooo hoping to see what work arounds / fixes people have found. Would be good to save Anet the trouble if I can get this fixed myself too.
Thanks all
