[Suggestion] Adding "Toys & Tonics" tab

Hi, everyone, i usually don’t post, but today I was clearing out my banktabs and to my surprise I have about 1 banktab full of items (tonics/consumables/toys) that I really liked but the problem is that I never use them because they are taking up a lot of space on characters. So I’ve put them in the bank where they gather dust. I also see a lot of cool items appearing in the gemstore but I don’t buy them because of the problem I mentioned above.

So I’ve come up with a little mock-up that I would love to see as a solution to this problem (see attachment). While there may be better solutions and I would also love some way to quick-access them instead of having to tab into the character screen and select them fast.

It’s a little UI feature that would really improve the usage and desirebility of toys and tonics in my opnion.

Game Updates: Guild World Events, Megaservers, WvW

I normally never post on this forum but today I will make an exception. I have mixed feelings about the whole megaserver concept and there are some really good things that came with it but also a lot of bad things that need to be fixed.

The good:
- More populated maps, less desolated area’s. Good for new players good for working together and good for the game.

- The game feels much more alive when you walk through a map you can actually complete some events without having to hope for a random passerby that helps you.

The bad:

- Getting guild members in 1 map is troublesome. I don’t know how it exactly is supposed to work but we were doing guildmissions and we were scattered across different servershards. We had to party up and coordinate heavily to get into the right map.

- World Events: While the idea of the schedule is great a lot of people don’t seem to like how it works now with the megaserver update. It’s a huge zergfest with over 100 players hitting something untill it dies. These zergs are a problem because:
- Players with bad pc’s can’t handle them
- Tagging for loot becomes a problem
- Zerging is not fun, no skill required spam 1 and get loot.
- Scaling for a lot of events is not really balanced. Some need more mobs.
- It feels like overkill, it doesn’t seem right.
These are more problems with the specific events but there need to be some fixes for it.

- Contested waypoints: This is awfull on some maps. Especially if you zone in from any zone to Plains of Ashford. Every single point in the map is contested. At least let us travel to the dungeon waypoint.

[WVW] Improvements on communications

in Suggestions

The game is now 2 months old and I was an eager WVW player, but there are some issues I’ve experienced in WVW. First, I noticed a high influx of new commanders. WvW currently lacks the communication infrastructure to support that much commanders in WvW. I’m myself a commander and it can be frustrating when you have multiple commanders around doing random stuff that doesn’t even make sense because they don’t know exactly what to do, but also do not communicate with players. And this is simply because it is not possible in game without outside help. I think WvW could be improved in some (to me) simply ways.

  • A way commanders can communicate with eachother. Currently there is no ingame support for that. Apart for chattering in /team and /map. You have to have a TS server or other VOIP solutions which is ok but there should be a way to do this ingame (a seperate channel perhaps?) /commander? This way commanders can use a seperate channel without having to scroll trough all the random comments.
  • The way /team and /map is handled in wvw is kinda unclear to new players. When I was new to wvw I was afraid that when typing in /m the enemy might hear me. Maybe the colour of the chatchannels should also be more distinct or maybe completely remove the teamchat from WVW since there doesn’t seem a difference atm and is only confusing.
  • I like the whole Idea of squads, but for a lot of players its impossible to know what they are for. How to get into a squad and how to see what a squad is. I suggest a visual indication for players in a squad like with parties and guilds. Maybe
More on squads. A visual indicator in the chat who the commander is, with a seperate colour or a tag?
  • Obtaining commander title should still be revamped I think. I think the price of 100g is reasonable, but it should be accompanied by some sort of ingame achievement that is linked to WvW. (Yaks killed/ supplies carried/ invaders killed?) There are a lot of better ways to do this than just spending 100g.

The reason I’m posting this is really simple. I believe this will vastly improve the WvW element, because it could remove the randomness and make WvW more structured and thus more fun. Maybe this could get even rid of mindless zergs and add depth to WvW in terms of strategy. Good communication is very important to any succesfull organisation, including teams in WvW. I hope this gets seen by other people and I’d like your opinion about this. I will read the comments and if I see comments that really might be valuable options I will add it to the list. Remember this is not a post about how to improve WVW in terms of balance.

Guild Announcements/Calender suggestions.

Yeah I’d like something like that. Guild Announcements need to be more obtrusive I think. Also the ability to put up notes and a calendar would improve synergy in a guild. I’d like to have people in a guild obtaining information via ingame guild announcements. WvW-dates. Maybe some general rules/guidelines to be able to put up. The current announcement system really doesn’t do the game justice because its easy to miss and very limited.
