Don’t worry, I haven’t logged into the game in quite a while – and I won’t come back either – I’ll stick with GW1
Just close down the game for a while, add all the features that were promised at !Release! – then and only then release it again.
As it is now, the game is full of broken promises..
1) Make a WoW-Like dungeon finder.
Having played the Neverwinter Beta recently, I came to enjoy their dungeon finder system once again (it’s basically the same they use in Star Trek Online, although they take player classes into consideration).
Now take under consideration the system planned for GW2:
A chat-like thingy, global maybe, but not like a system which you can use to automatically find and join a dungeon.
Now, teleporting is quite expensive, and if you are on quest you actually have to interrupt, travel, finish the dungeon, and travel back again.
(WoW just takes you back to the spot where you started from).
I played dungeons in GW2 – but I really don’t like to wait in front of the dungeon or in Lion’s Arch just to find a group…
2) Bring back class roles
Why remove them in the first place? To be different from all the other MMO’s out there?
In the dungeons I played in GW2, there was no clear role assignment. So, my super-heavy armor guardian with shield and sword, specced for survival, was basically useless, because the mobs just like to focus on the thief, because guess what? A kittened up aggro system.
Oh wait, you can heal him or he can heal himself you say?
While that is true in some sense, remember the good old GW1 times, where you had a monk that could be trusted to keep you alive?
Granted, the trinity has its disadvantages – the long wait time for a tank or healer, or you get some kittenty tanks or healers.
Still, I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages and there’s always room for improvement – though removing it completely was no improvement in my opinion.
Don’t get me wrong, GW2 is a good game in some aspects. But some things are just too unconsidered or based on some developer’s thoughts of a better world.
Just a final word:
I thoroughly enjoyed dungeoning again with my cleric in Neverwinter – keeping my party alive, constantly being pushed to the edge – that is why I go into dungeons, not for some meager rewards like in GW2. Knowing when to dodge is just not pushing to the edge – dodging AND keeping those alive who didn’t, that’s where the fun is
TL;DR:
- Bring back trinity
- Implement WoW-like dungeon finder
I know that most of you will disapprove of this post or brand me as whiner. Feel free to do so.
I also know that something like that will never happen in GW2 – because NCSoft doesn’t listen to their community anymore…
Well login seems to be affected…it sucks hard
Yea same happened to a lot of people….
I was at the end of the boss event – disco – relog – yay, event hasn’t even started.
Apart from the lags, the invisible enemies, the bullkitten bugs and much much more,
it makes me wonder how this company actually does not go bankrupt.
How did the players not see this coming?
I was sure that ANet would continue to disappoint players, and here we are.
The concept with Agony was fine in GW1, because Infusion changed nothing regarding Stats etc.
But yeah, use a concept, modify it, make a super blogpost about it, throw away all principles you had before, and voĆla, you get GuildWars 2 from ANet / NCSoft.
Nice going there, ANet.
Hello,
Please add an achievement tracker to the game.
One tracking bar for one achievement, somewhere over the minimap for example, would be very nice.
I really hated to have to open the achievement window ever so often just to check how many pumpkins I carved
Thank you.

I’m getting a lot of disconnects since the patch.
Connection seems to be ok – at least I have no other disconnects and ping on 8.8.8.8 looks good.
Had to install some DirectX 9 library dependencies, but other than that, GW2 runs fine on Windows 8.
@Fay.2735: Windows 8 is not bad. It just takes time to get used to.
Seeing that every hour more and more events/skillpoints/vistas are getting bugged, why not restart the server daily for a temporary fix?
Sure, fixing it permanently has high priority, but at least the people could complete their respective goals in the meantime.
Server Gandara has multiple bugged areas (Straits of Devastation, Iron Marches, etc….even tutorial areas)
A restart could fix some of that…..at least temporarily.
(Zone Reboot would be even nicer)
