Terrible Content

Honestly…a guy in chat summed it up pretty well a few minutes ago…..“all alone…….big spider”. I see maybe 3-4 people in the tower on my server, and when was this content released? A few days ago….and people are already sick of it. Being a solo player here means death, and since there are few people to group with you’re basically screwed.

Reason theres so few people? Because theres no point being in the tower, event farm is better elsewhere, champion farm is better elsewhere. Unless that kitten chest has a 10times drop rate for pre-cursors i dont see anyone even setting foot inside the tower within a week. And theres no way in hell the tower is going to be destroyed by then, not on my server at least.

Suggestions: None really….this content is just poorly designed. Reducing difficulty would bring solo players into it, but would also lead to massive zerg-fests. Which already happen anyways but only happen rarely.

And no my server is not low pop or wvw oriented server. Its high population and most of the players are pve. Meaning theres people in the game, they just hate this content.

What server? Because TC is not only swarming with people, but so are the overflows. Even really late into the night (3AM EST sometimes). The only boss that cannot be soloed by most players is the queen spider, and even the queen can be soloed. Just because you don’t like a particular content doesn’t mean it is poorly designed. I hated the Super Adventure Box, but I’d never call it poorly designed. In contrast, this is one of my favorite releases so far, and it’s one of two that I’ve actually returned to multiple times to complete. Why? It’s group content that I can solo. It brings back running into the game that has basically been lost since GW1. It has multiple dungeons that change every time you do them. It has secrets all over the god kitten place.

If the only reason you play this game is to get a reward, you’re just torturing yourself. The point of new living story releases isn’t to give you new ways to farm every two weeks. It’s to continue the story and spice up the content for the sake of fun.

But by all means, go have fun doing the same dungeon over and over again.

Im on isle right now and its terrible, most i see normally is 2-3 people, and the most ive seen is about 8 and that was during peak time. I dont know about you but i definitely dont consider that to be “swarming”. As to the different mini dungeons ive been through 12 and havnt noticed a difference, run in, free the prisoners, get loot. If there are different ones then i must be really unlucky.

I play this game to have fun, nowhere in my post do i complain about rewards so im not sure where youre getting your bullkitten logic. This content is not fun, dieing 13 times trying to get to the top because theres only 4 other people in the tower is not fun. Getting 2 shot on a guardian who has almost 2k toughness by a vet mob is not fun. If thats what you find “fun” then all the power to you, happy dieing i guess.

And i can solo this content, i wasnt complaining about not being able to. I solo the hybrid boss daily, but i know ALOT of players who can not. If theyre going to cater gameplay to hard core types then say it in the update so the people who want to log on casually for an hour a day can find a different game to play that week.

I honestly want kiel to win, sorry evon supporters. But if we were only considering the mini games, Evon would win by a long shot. Kiels arena is just kittenty. Its too easy for crystal runners to make it to base with how small the map is. Basically all you have to do is pick up the crystal with sun aspect, aim yourself at your base, and hold 5. Easy 50 points for your team. Evons mini game is at least fun and challenging. I would like to know how often we will be seeing the winners mini game actually playable in game. Because if its often or permanent then kitten kiel, ill vote evon just for survival mini game.

For people having problems on this event, heres how you can do it really easily. You can defend an entire side by yourself if needed, should give the rest of your team time to do something. Anyways…..you basically run in circles with a candy hammer, break everything and place whatever appears where it appears. Slowly upgrade as needed, and once you have a decent defense just start camping the spawns with snowmen and catapults. Once toxx spawns switch to rifle, there will be so many catapults and snowmen that he will never get close to the dolyaks. After hes dead switch back and keep building.

Does it affect anything? Like do you gain more presents or get a reward for higher scores?

I ask because me and another guy really didnt fight any of the mobs the entire game, but we were running supplies and now back and forth. So if score does affect your reward there should be a way for people who focus on getting scrap and snow to earn points.

I have not seen them teleport. If i use a movment speed buff and a movement utility skill the mini just disappears. I stood there for 2 mins waiting to see if it would teleport or catch up to me, but it never did.

Can you please make mini pets as fast as our characters or even faster? I love having my little griffon follow me around, but re-summoning him every 15 seconds because he falls too far behind and de-spawns is becoming extremely annoying.

100% Map Completion Bugged?

So the question is the title, is 100% map completion bugged? I just checked all 4 wvw maps, have 100% in all of them. I then spent a crap ton of gold porting to each zone and city to make sure i hadnt missed anything. And i hadnt. I even check southsun which i dont believe counts towards it atm, and i have everything explored there as well. So what gives…..should i be filing a report with anet?

I found that with all of my characters i had to do multiple zones of the same lvl req. Was ALWAYS under leveled for the next zone, after doing full map completion and personal story quests. For example, i had to do queensdale then part of caledon before i moved on to the next tiered zone.

Crafting also does help a lot, and i mean ALOT. If your gathering most of the nodes you see in each zone you can easily gain a few levels from just crafting with the materials you found.

This depends on which events your talking about, in which level range, and what level the characters doing the event are. Because at the moment i can solo the fire ele in metrica province. Why? Because im a level 80 and downscaling doesnt work properly. It would take multiple people of the appropriate level to kill the fire ele if only level appropriate characters were doing it.

I havnt seen any community made sites that monitor events, even the ones that monitor dragon events are blah…..considering they are on such a set timer its easy to predict. I cant even find a site that shows all listed events in each zone besides for the 2 ANET released in the betas.

In southern dredgehaunt cliffs or w/e the hell the zones called, theres like 4 events in the south that are almost constantly up. Only problem is most of them contain at least 1 vet. If you dont have problems with vets then by the time you finish 1 to 2 of them the others have restarted already.

I like to solo this boss for fun whenever hes up, and it doesnt take me 10mins but im also lvl 80 with decent gear, and im a war. But i do agree, for events that have champ bosses in them there should definitely be a better reward than 243 karma and 1 silver, be it a type of chest based on how hard the fight is, or just a kitten increase in karma and silver awarded. Something needs to be done.

I already made a post on this but it was in the wrong thread and the admins haven’t seen fit to move it yet, so ill try again here.

I would like ANET to improve the way dynamic events are monitored, either in game or create a web page that would track them. I say this because i like doing a variety of events rather than sitting in cursed shore waiting. So i waypoint around to different areas in each zone that i know have fun events. This is starting to get very pricey though, and if i walk to them i usually miss out on half or all of the event. Personally i would like each event to be visible on the world map as you enter a zone, but i know this may be unrealistic for certain computers. Which is why i would like the option to increase the range on which DE’s become visible. This way if you want to be able to see more DE’s in the area you can, but if it slows down performance you can turn it off.

Also I believe in the beta ANET said they would create a mobile app or website that would track the events in each zone (if im wrong please let me know, if im right does anyone know the site/thread it was posted?), and i would like to ask what is being done about this.

Is there any point in fighting champion mobs?

At the moment, unless its a DE champ, there is no reason to fight champion mobs unless you want a challenge. Personally i go from zone to zone looking for certain DE’s, like the fire ele in metrica, or the giant in diessa plateu, and i solo them. Why? Because its a nice challenge, the rewards arnt always great, but i find it fun.
Supposedly though this will be changing in the next few patches to make champ mobs drop better than average loot, perhaps even have special loot tables for certain champs, as anet specifically said they would like to bring back “boss hunting”.

yes, at least it should work on an area/map scale.

Area/region seems a little more feasible. On some of the larger zones, the entire right side of your screen would be events if you could see everything at once. Although I guess they could just make it visible only on the map and only showing the event info on the right side of the screen once you actually got within range.

Supposubly they were going to add a website or mobile app that would let you monitor different zone’s dynamic events. Im having a hard time finding the site that announced that though, would like some sort of answer from anet about this.

I believe in the beta we were told that there would be a way to monitor the different dynamic events going on in the world. If i am wrong please correct me, but could you please increase the distance we can see dynamic events to the entire zone we are in? Or make it an option in the menu if you believe it would slow down performance. Because porting to 3 different waypoints in every zone just looking for fun dynamic events is costly, and if i walk to them directly i usually miss half of them. Please add a way we can monitor more dynamic events than the ones near us.

Karma boosters not working for anyone else? Did an event without the booster on and received 243 karma for it. Went afk for a few minutes and when i got back the event was up again, along with some other events in the area. Decided to use a karma booster. When i finished the same event again i still only received 243 karma.

Is it just me, or is Tyria ridiculously mountainous?

Personally i wouldnt mind the mountains if they wernt so kitten perfect straight lines. All zones are literally boxes or rectangles with 1 or 2 exceptions.

I must ask if your speaking primarily about pvp or pve, and if your including pve then what level are you?

Because at level 80 GS does so much more damage than almost any other weapon for a warrior that its sad. 100b is hitting for 15k every 8 seconds, and whirlwind hits for 7-9k. Thats equivalent to other weapon sets using all their abilities and then some.

In pvp theres times where weapon + shield is better but thats why theres a thing called weapon swapping. In spvp i run axe/shield and GS and the axe/shield is only for eviscerate and the 2 shield abilities, otherwise im in greatsword.

Theres also a few ways to work around the immovability issue in pvp, since in pve you shouldnt be having problems with it. Frenzy + bullscharge is a popoular one, and can basically 1 shot all clothies unless they blow major cooldowns. Personally prefer bola myself since stability cant stop immobalize and it has a shorter cd.

I believe this is how it works, as your breather does replace your head gear whenever you are underwater.

Meaning you would need a run in your helm to match your normal armor set……i havnt tested it personally yet tho so dont quote me.

Agreed. Never had problems before last patch. And for some reason its only certain skills. Frenzy takes 10 tries before it activates. But bola activates instantly. Seriously anet? Fix this trash.

Legendary Weapons

Its LEGENDARY dude. They should take a long time and be hard as kittens to get.

And Anet knows how to do hard weapons. Destroyer, Tormented, Oppressor, and Envoy sets took at the very least a month of solid focused game-play to the cause for the easier ones and well approaching or over a year for the higher end stuff.

So no, there is never “too much work” for a skin. In fact, the more work it is, the more rare the skin becomes, to more the prestige of having it. This has been posted a million other places, but ill add it again since some people must have missed it:

Guild Wars isn’t and never was about players getting their jollies by having a belt buckle that gives them a stat based advantage over other players. Guild Wars is and has always been about player’s getting their jollies by being more skilled than other players…and having a bad kitten belt buckle to show off an accomplishment to all passersby.

I feel sorry for your disposition. If they follow the same trend they are known for, every content patch and expansion is just going to increase the time and investment needed to create these skins. Destroyer -> Envoy , Obsidian -> Vabbian.

Your joking right? You could easily gain any to all of those skins you listed in well less than a month, and you could do multiples of some of them as well.

Legendaries in their current state should not be legendaries, sure they look amazing BUT the only way to get them is a grindfest. Theres absolutely nothing legendary in the way you acquire them. Eventually EVERYONE on the server who continues to play this game will have one. There should deffinitely be more of a challenge in acquiring them.

Daily Achieves

Not sure if this is mentioned anywhere else, so ill add a new post.

Could you please add a list of the type of animals we have killed for the daily achievement to kill 15 different types. It gets extremely frustrating when your killing 1 type of every monster you see but are getting no points towards the achieve. For example, i entered wvw and killed a raptor, got a point. Killed a wolf then a panther after and only got 1 point. Killed a raccoon and got a point but didnt get a point for killing a chicken. A more specific list than just the number would be nice.

2 people in my group got 60, 2 people ended with 45 and i only got 30. The last dungeon i had run was 4 hours before which was AC path 2, and i only recieved 45 for that first run of the day. Please fix this soon, i see no point in running dungeons anymore if im not going to recieve the full reward.

Happened yesterday as well in TA, only received 45 for first run.

New and Old tokens are not stacking either, is a hindrance with the limited bank/inventory space.
