I was wondering how matchmaking actually works. The reason for this is because I have 2 accounts, one of them has a rating of 1860 and the other one has a rating of 1680 now. The other account was 1850, but the last 5 days I’ve been consistently getting harder and harder matches on this account, which just feels plain uncarryable (Like people dieing in 1 vs 2, even 1 vs 3, people dieing in 5 seconds at midfight, people dieing against classes they should have an advantage against , very bad rotation etc.), The matches I have on my 1860 account are like 3 times easier than the matches I have on my other account. So I was wondering how matchmaking works, does it like try to find 10 people and couple the 5 people with worst mmr? This could explain my sudden losing streak on my 1680 account, while as now I’m still consistently climbing on the other account (playing same class and build and alot of soloq on both accounts). If matchmaking was working properly, I should be climbing on the lower ranked account faster right?

You can’t blame a student for wanting the highest grade. If that student then looks how they can reach the highest grade in the easiest way, they’ll see it’s by copying off the smart kid next to them. Is that the fault of the student? Is that cheating?

BLOODY WELL YES.

That comparison doesn’t make sense, because you’re comparing leagues now with an actual working system. To make a comparison with the student though… If a student will get the highest possible grade by failing a test, then it’s not cheating to fail it. That just means it’s a flawed design, which is not the fault of the student.

Yep. I’ve refused to participate in this league as soon as I found out about the cheating/people tanking their MMR and purposefully losing the matches. This is absolutely disgusting behavior and what’s more unsettling is the amount of people defending it on Reddit. If you dare speak out about it you get downvoted.

As I said there: This is exactly why I’ve stayed away from PvP over the past couple weeks. I LOVE PvP and I really want the legendary back item, but I refuse to participate in this joke of a league until they fix this. It makes me angry that this crap is keeping me from not only a game mode that I really enjoy but a in-game goal that I otherwise would be spending a lot of time working toward. Knowing that I’m going to be a season behind in earning my back piece is infuriating, but I refuse to participate in such a broken system. Hopefully they will have this cheating and exploitation fixed before next season.

It’s rather the fault of a design flaw which was to be honest really forseeable and therefore preventable. It might be too late for this league, but in the next league they should stop having a seperate MMR system and League system as they’re too contradictive (which is also brought up already by the OP).

He said Semi HC not a lot of people with all kind of skill levels.
Semi HC means need to get tested while ToW doesn’t.
There’s a difference between hc, semi hc and casual guild.
It’s like a guy requests for hamburger and you give him a salad instead.

I would see it more like a full Menu instead. We indeed offer the salad, but also the hamburger and the frites. We have enough people who are fractals level 50 and know the tactics and do it regulary. Same thing for PvP. And if you don’t know the mechanics then that’s no problem either, we’ll just teach you. The OP is obviously a more experienced player though, so we don’t have to teach him. :p

I don’t know if this is the right thread to ask this, but I don’t know where else, so I’ll still do it. Will we get a free character slot with the expansion? The reason I wanted to know this is because with the recent discounts in the gemstore, it is cheaper for me to buy a character slot while it’s on discount (In case the expansion doesn’t give you a free character slot).
