Lets examine the basic reason for forming a party/group. Strength in numbers…essentially being stronger as a group…making each other better. That’s exactly what the necromancer/reaper does not do anywhere near as well as any other profession. I see people listing all the things that other players generally are not looking for teammates to provide…as strengths of the reaper in instanced play…and it baffles me (help ressing, tiny heals instead of spike healing, tanking, self-ish sustain). What pve instanced parties are generally looking for are things that make the group and the individuals stronger at the same time. They generally want things that are going to keep them from getting downed in the first place. They generally want things that are going to kill the enemies faster. They are generally looking for teammates that will provide things they don’t already have…or in a more efficient manner than they can already. Unfortunately necromancers/reapers are still lacking in that…apparently by design. I will say that the reaper is absolutely amazing in open world though. It was far and away the most fun and easiest profession to play in pure open world PvE…pretty much where teammates and group contribution does not matter.

So your saying the other classes are weak and need other classes to stay alive? About right.

Necros doen’t need the rest of the group to stay alive. I usually find myself in pugs scraping the noobs off the floor after they die.

Ignore the META Elite nonsense. Once the OP’ed Frost Bow gets nerfed to the ground and the NOOB STACKING of might goes away. The games going to change. At least I hope it is.

Remember a dead player puts out ZERO DPS. Necros don’t die very easy. Funny because in 90% of my pugs.. my NECRO doesn’t get out DPS’ed very often. Are they usually high dps.. NO but the META perfect class only puts out perfect dps if the moon aligns and all the other classes are played perfectly aligned with META. That doesn’t happen often. Play what you like. Ignore the Elite META bullies and just dungeon with a group of 4 other necros… :P

I’m in the same boat. I watched my GPU temps climb to overheating once I turned on GW2. After the patch today my CPU started going this while playing GW2. GPU temps climb to red.

What did they change?

My CPU is water cooled. My tower is a full size with 8 fans…. Ram has dedicated cooling as well.

I’m in the same boat. Never had a problem with guild wars 2 until today. FPS went from 60’s to 10 or lower.. unplayable for me.

My FPS went from 50-60 FPS to under 15 FPS average after the last couple patches. My current FPS makes the game horrible.

I have a I7 OC’ed to 4.0 Ghz.

I play at 4k max settings. Can’t even play on low settings. Something was messed up in the last patch.

Just ran my Core Temp program. My GPU is overheating since the patch. My CPU is watercooled and its running fine. Only overheats for GW2…. so not a hardware issue.

I gave up. I’m back to playing other MMO’s. When they fix it… I’ll come back.

Sad since this is a great MMO.

Join the crash club. My gaming computer can’t play it, but my cheap laptop plays it with no problems. They have the same video cards as well. Same posts like this have been popping up ever since the patch a few months ago.

The computer that cant play it can play every other game out there for hours on end at MAX resolution, but can’t play this game. Hmmmmm.

Have you played a warrior? I have a Theif and Warrior. A warriors burst will be MUCH higher…like 12-14k!! Any more nerfs to the Thief they will be 100% PvE Worthless.

Too many QQ’n players… crying Nerf them all!

If they want to nerf the burst on a burst class… then what do we get to keep us Pve viable?

Notice the increase in warriors on the servers? There’s a reason for it.

Its not your computer. Their are already hundreds of posts with GW2 compatibility issues involving CPU lock up with sound still playing or slow fps. I’m in the same boat with my 3k gaming rig, but mine freezes. It works perfectly with ALL OTHER GAMES, but this one. Fix this replace this.. blah blah blah. Its not ur pc.

One day in the distant future they will hopefully fix the issue. Not sure if its with certain NVIDIA cards, CPU’s, or some combo of them, but my gaming tower has GF GTX 560 Ti – 1 GB GDDR5 as well.. and it CRASHES often with the lockup with the sound looping.. My gaming laptop is the Nvidia GTX 560M, but runs fine.

My money’s on the video card since most people reporting the problem have the 560 GTX. At least yours is only slow fps.

For the guy who keeps blaming everyones computers… log off please. Our computers didn’t all MAGICALLY break at the same time after the patch. Most of these are 3k+ gaming rigs that can play all the high graphic games out there at max settings.

I get the same crash. Random times within 5-10 minutes.

I’m in the same boat after the last patch.

I get random crashed every 5-10 minutes. Complete computer lock up.

I have all drivers updated. Every other game plays fine.

At least my gaming laptop can still play without problems, but would like play on the big screens again.
