Just a quick update. I tried the following settings and now I’m getting a solid 60 FPS:
Animation – High
AA – FXAA
Environment – High
LOD – High
Reflections – Terrain & Sky
Textures – High
Render Sampling – Native
Shadows – High
Shaders – High
Post Processing – High
Best Texture Filtering – Check
Depth Blur – Check
High-Res Characters – Check
V-Sync – Check
Game still looks the same but plays a lot better.

The 3770 beats the 3930 for gaming right now. At least until devs learn how to code for it from what I’ve been reading.
I use it for many other purposes though, mainly video editing and that’s where it shines.
Anyway thanks everyone for the tips and input.

GW2 does crossfire but a single 7950 can max this game at 80+ FPS, the problem is the CPU. Not because the 3930k is bad by any means, it is to me the best CPU on the market atm, just because the geme runs on 1 core, this means u need to overclock in order to get a single stronger core so the videocards can stretcht thir legs, the guy who said u need a titan to run this game or CF is not working, just don’t know what he is saying, ignore him.
Any card starting from 100$ will is able to max out this game at playable FPS, it is all on ur CPU here.
Right, I understand. I just jumped ship from an AMD Phenom II X6 1090t. I knew that the multicore processor would still be a bit of a problem for most MMOs but I thought the 3930K would be more than enough to push 60 FPS on max on a game like this. Guess I was wrong. Luckily gaming isn’t my only purpose for getting the upgrade.

Gonna have to buy 2 then. I don’t run anything at less than max.
GW2 does not like Xfire. So I would not recommend that.
Starting to sound like bad programming to me.
My machine is stock. No overclocking.
Alright. I just checked a few sites, and long story short, the i5-3570k gets better performance, but that’s about it; when it comes to things like multitasking or hyper threading technology, i7-3930k wins by a long run (i5-3570k doesn’t even have hyper threading). If you’re a bit savvy with overclocking and/or not afraid to tinker with it, you could try overclocking your core a bit to see if you can get better FPS in-game.
Also, I would personally geek out a bit if I managed to get my hands on a Titan GPU.
I’m not going to overclock my CPU for one game. Everything else runs fine.

Oh and I’m standing in the Human starter zone. Divinity’s Reach gate.

Sorry about that. Yeah its stock. I’m not proficient when it comes to overclocking and that chip cost too much to take my chances. GPU usage fluctuates between 50-99%.
Everything on max, 1920×1080. But honestly, you can’t go too much higher than my setup. 45 is all I should expect?

Is 45 FPS really the best I can do with this setup and everything on?
I’d think I could do better. I mean when I’m looking at the sky I can get 80-90, but usually I’m running somewhere between 40-55.
Is that normal or is there something I can tweak?
